We have been going to Rob for 7 years and I love him . Spike my little Carin Terrier before I took him to The Pet Parlor, I took him to every groomer in the area and when I pick him up I hear him in the back just crying, he was so upset , and traumatized I felt horrible I wanted him to enjoy it. Then I made an appointment to The Pet Parlor , and he was hesitant to go and I was wondering if I was doing the right thing. When I came to pick him up , I walked in and Spike was having fun running around and playing with the other dogs, not even aware I was even there , and right there I knew I did the right thing and found my groomer ❤️. He get all excited when I tell him he going to Rob’s . When I take him in he just walks in and never looks back at me and just happy to be there . Rob and his staff are WONDERFUL and love their job and treat my Spike like there own . I also have a blue and gold macaw Rocky, that I bring in for his nails and they are great with him also . I would recommend Rob and his staff to anyone and this is the only place my Spike will go ! Thank you Rob and staff for all you do up and beyond !!!

Had a wonderful experience today at the Pet Parlor with our 4 year old yellow Labrador Ruby today!! We did the self wash & had a nail trim. The self wash was amazing with the use of their products & equipment. They took the time to listen to my concerns and they were able to suggest products that were extremely helpful. They were so gentle & quick with the nail trim. Their prices are more than fair. We will be back!!

I gave the owner several attempt to make the cut right. There were so many excuses. I have a beautiful Berniedoodle- no matting.I picked her up and i don’t believe she was even washed. Her cut was botched. Scissors were never used to give her a body line which is expected with a round face. No refund and not willing to fix in an appropriate amount of time- I ended up doing it myself because she is a service dog and it was bad. I thought maybe it was the girl who did it. As my mothers dog comes back great! Regardless.. the owner let her walk out the door like she did. Long hairs everywhere. Her white wasn’t whitened. Under belly not shaved or cleaned. Armpits had long hairs still. Face was chunked. Ears were not cleaned. I knew he had a hard time with her feet so I was expecting to fix that but I was in shock the way she was. No poof. My husband asked if our toddler did it.I had really high hopes…. See attached pictures of her AFTER. This is the exact way she went in just two inches shorter. I don’t know what they are thinking. Take my warning. If they would have called while they had her I would have came up and and helped. Maybe shown them what customers expect. Seventy plus a tip.

Had my dog groomed at pet parlor for the first time. They were great with her. Very friendly and caring crew. Reasonably priced. Great experience, I highly recommend them.

I have a reactive Aussie who doesn’t do well with strangers touching him and for that reason I have always had to groom him at home, grooming him is a ton of work and a pain to try and dry him and wash him at home but thanks to the pet parlor I don’t have to! They just opened their self service dog wash and it was everything I could have wanted! My boy got to get that professional groom experience but without the stress of trying to have a stranger do it! They have a walk in bathing area with a tall tub and a ground level one, I was able to get whitening shampoo and deshedding shampoo for my boy and they have a surprisingly quiet dryer that dried his thick double coat in no time! Also you get the room to yourself so if you have a reactive dog like mine it’s perfect! I got him clean so much faster and easier than usual, got him all dried and got all his shed hair blown out and the best part is I didn’t have to deal with the mess of water and dog hair I do when I wash him at home! I will definitely be coming back with him and my other two dogs, great experience and the convenience and quality is unmatched! Additionally the staff was so friendly, definitely recommend the pet parlor for a self service wash.

I took my girl in for a nail trim. She has had bad experiences elsewhere and it was to the point I was going to have to sedate her at the vet to get them done. You all were patient and kind with her even though you were very busy. You sweet talked her and made her feel safe and were able to get her nails done! I am grateful and impressed. I highly recommend you.

I had my dog first time there today I was happy with the open atmosphere the warm welcome I had read reviews I had told Ron of my experience withprevious groomers and I told Ron that my experiences were awful. so when I picked Ozzie up it was a nightmare he was still dirty he was not trimmed , or fully groomed his beard was gouged out they didn’t clip his nails because they said they were too short Left all the paw hair around his paws and called it a deluxe bath @ 55.00. I’m noticing around here I live in West Branch I don’t think any of these groomers are official professional groomers with a license you don’t have to have one in Michigan then on top of that he charges me $55 for a small dog that you didn’t even groom . Let the picture shows I wished I could’ve got some better pictures when he came home but he’s just ugly this is the worst he has ever had except the one he had with his belly scratched up. My boy is 10 he has had professional grooming all 10 years. Oh @ 35.00 I know prices are up but you didn’t do anything he’s not groomed . I want a refund!!!! The first two pictures are when we left home the rest of them of what he look like when he came home. His best feature his beard, his beard is all gouged hair is hanging it is not even the same lengths even his paws weren’t even cut the hair around his toenails they didn’t clip his nails. They were too short? He just had his tips cut because he was going here today. I’m sorry but I’m not stupid and I know I just got Ripped Off! Good luck. If your happy feel very lucky!

I have a senior pup and I'm always nervous to take her to new grooming places due to her double coat and fluffy fur but the groomer knew exactly what to do without any input from me! My pup smelled so good and looked so pretty after a day at the Pet Parlor. Definitely will be returning.

My kitty got covered in soot/ash from a fuel oil furnace failure in my home. The Pet Parlor got me in the day I called and did an emergency cleaning. My cat had never had a bath so they had their hands full between that and the soot. I came back to pick him up and was thoroughly impressed with how clean they got him. The customer service was outstanding and the people working there are absolutely amazing! Thank you Pet Parlor! I highly recommend them and I look forward to using them regularly for my cat in the future.EDIT: Pet Parlor doesn't normally groom cats, but they are looking at adding this service in the near future. This service may not be available yet to the public. They did me and my cat a huge favor taking on this project. Please consider that this service may not be available yet but I wanted to leave a full review and relay my thanks.

Did a walk in nail trip to see how my XL dog would do at a new groomers since I moved. The walk in nail trip went well, they did a great job. They saw his demeanor and poor interaction with other dogs as well as the muzzle he was wearing at the start of the visit. I then scheduled my two dogs for full grooms. Once my XL dog arrived for his full groom the staff denied to service him due to his poor interaction with other dogs. Also denied him getting his groom with a muzzle and stated muzzles were not used in this facility. Very fustrated that I made the 30 minute drive one way for the staff to deny service after they had no issue the week prior.

Visited Pet Parlor with my two doodles an Aussi and a Golden, best groom I have had I had recently gone to a local Grayling groomer, but she became so hard to book that I decided to change, the crew was well versed and the open environment was a great as the pups could interact, no stress I recommend them highly ask for Rod🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶

My dog has a very hard time getting her nails trimmed. Pet Parlor treated my dog so well and with such love and care that she was able to tolerate the ordeal. I highly recommend this place and I will most definitely return whenever I am in town. A++++ from a very grateful customer❤️

I brought in my Pyr and little Terrier. The Terrier is a rescue with unknown trauma around vets. We've had difficulty trimming her nails but the team here at The Pet Parlor were awesome. They took their time with her and even recommend led possibly bringing her a few times without doing anything just to build up her trust.I'll be bringing my pups back to be groomed! The play area is spacious and the staff is amazing and friendly.

They are very gentle! My dog is 18 year's old and they were very accommodating for her and so gentle. They have a customer for life with me. My dog loves going there! Their prices are very reasonable.

We just LOVED The Pet Parlor!! Rob was FANTASTIC!! They made me feel VERY comfortable leaving my dog with them. They are very welcoming and a nice calm environment. Sammie (My Fur baby) is a Shepard/Chow mix he is 14 going to be 15 soon and just went deaf about months ago, The reason I am putting this in the review is to let you know that they took Extra time and Extra good care of my Baby making sure he was comfortable and didn't push him past his limits. He not only looks great, He showed that he was comfortable with the groomer and that makes me really happy. We have had a hard time finding a good groomer since we moved up north and I am telling you we have now finally found our permanent groomer. If I could I would give 5 stars. Thank you Rob for going the extra mile and making our experience a positive one. Also the prices are really good for anyone wondering. Thank you again Big Hugs from Sammie and Cathy.

I took my very excited 6 month old lab for a nail trim. The staff was great with my excited pup and made the visit as stress free as possible for my pup and I. After the visit my pup loved the place so much that she did not want to get in the car. The staff went above and beyond to help me get her into the car.Highly recommend!!!

Outstanding service! They took great care of our elderly dog Ozzy. They were gentle with him and very patient. He can be a handful but since the owner and his assistant treated him like the treasure that he is he was calm! Best place in Houghton Lake to get the dogs looking and feeling good. Clean, affordable and everyone was extremely nice to us!!!

Today was my 15 month old Lab Gracie's first time visiting the Pet Parlor. She is super high energy so I was hoping they were experienced enough to handle her. When I came back to pick her up I was so happy to see that she was treated with love and professionalism. I highly recommend this business. They already feel like family!

They did a great job on my Saint Bernard. Thanks so much. She was so calm when I picked her up as well as happy, which hasn't always been the case with other groomers. Great people, they really love animals, which was apparently clear.Definitely would recommend them.

I had an appointment at a different place, but it was closed due to parking lot work. I drove to The Pet Parlor and Rob took me in right away. He did a good job clipping my neighbor's dog's nails. The price was good, not expensive. Rob was very nice.

They certainly have a love of dogs! Archie is a 5 year Bichon/Lopso small 17 lbs. He got a very choppy hair cut requiring a lot of trimming at home. I paid a full price.

I love the pet parlor! My golden doodle puppy Murphy is treated and handled with such love and kindness that he does not want to leave. We will be looking forward to spa days for many long years ahead. Clothes and harnesses and tags too! ❤️

Apparently they do not know how to groom a schnauzer and maybe they should have googled some images. My schnauzer looks like a terrier and they barely trimmed his nails, didn't clean his ears and he still has matts on his belly because they didn't shave it down. I would only recommend your pet get bathed here, nothing else.
