Home Depot in Houghton Lake is the BEST. I’m extremely hesitant to even let people know because I don’t want to share their expertise. They’re so fortunate to have Theresa, Jen and Joshua as employees. These people have been instrumental in helping me remodel our bathrooms. Give them raises!!

I spent $2500 on appliances. I picked the ones I wanted off the showroom floor only to find out they were not stocked. Now I have a mismatch set. The delivery date was set, and then I got a call from a robot saying it's going to be delivered 3 days late. They are advertising products they don't carry, and they don't care that I am missing work to acomidate their horrible delivery scheduling.

Let's face it, a lot of us depend on this place to get what we need to keep our homes maintained. However, they are still just a soulless, for profit, corporation. I have witnessed some discrimination coming from there, but I do see efforts to be more inclusive for women. Support locally if you can.

Purchased a kitchen countertop. When they came out to measure the countertop for installation. They said they couldn’t install the countertop because our cabinets were not level. They said we would have to have them leveled before they would install the countertop. They could not provide that service however. They charged me $200 to tell me my cabinets were not level and would charge me another $200 the next time they would come out to measure the cabinets. Beware of the multiple $200 charges.

Doors & Windows) Thanks so much for all of your time, expertise & willingness to help me out with everything from doors to decking & paint! Thanks to the guys in Pro Service Dept Vince & Bruce Foster. Bruce just dropped off two 20 footers of Trex saving me a nasty delivery fee with his own truck! Such a helpful great guy that has seen me at the counter too many times to count....and Vince...he too has always been helpful answering all my questions. You ALL have the patience of a saint!Its been pretty tough trying to get my home back to snuff since the loss of my husband. These gentlemen were knowledgeable and kept me informed about my ordered products and even though my patience ran short because of a lengthy backorder, they were level-headed and patient with me.Thanks again, from the bottom of my heart, to Randy, Bruce & Vince. Normally I see no reason to review a big box chain, but this store in particular deserves it. For the staff. Holiday weekend, very busy, and I had employees regularly ask me if I was finding everything ok, and when I did ask for help Mark was more than helpful, grabbed a cart and loaded up the patio set I wanted while I grabbed the rest of my items, then Chris was in line with me at the register ready to help me load up. This is not the norm in customer service anymore and it was very refreshing to have happy helpful polite staff even on I'm sure one of their busiest weekends of the year.

I Needed re-bar for an art project and bought exactly what I needed. I also needed 1/2" conduit to fit over the re-bar which was cut in half by a helpful employee so it would fit in my car.. My challenge was when I was at the checkout and a lovely, polite girl took me out of line over to self checkout and helped me. The pic shows the re-bar, conduit, and my artwork. Michelle at the self checkout saved my camping trip. It was my first time buying a 20 lb propane tank. She made sure to check in with me and let me know that the one I had grabbed was empty and if that was what I needed. It most definitely was not! She returned the empty one and sold me a full one, easy like Sunday morning. Thanks Michelle!

Houghton lake Home Depot has the best staff of all the Home Depots I have used across Michigan Very helpful and friendly. Dont be afraid to ask for help they will not judge you only give advise and insite. I give them 5 stars. They also have a few products that most Depots dont stock

I needed tools, HD said order these batteries get this tool free but only if I order online for home delivery (even though all in stock local). Everything showed up fast except for the 'free tool' which is the main tool I need to do the job that I took the day off to do. Guess what.... I cant do the job now so HD provided me with another wasted day at my cost (saving $100 cost me $300). They all ready gave me a hassle trying to get one of their "pro's" to do the job providing only a bait and switch. I will be driving 50 miles to your rival building supply store because you have cost me too much.

Very big store, maybe too big? I found it hard to get assistance with locating items I needed. I also bought a tool box/ rolling tool chest from them. It was priced at $628.00. It had an online price of $586.00. But, the only problem was that the one online was red and the one in store was black. They did not want to honor the online price due to the color. Every tool box in the store had the option of purchasing it in which ever color available but when it came to the one I wanted, it became a problem. It was the exact same model, just a different color. Finally a manager agreed with me and gave me the box for the online price.

This is one of the only Home Depot stores I can actually tolerate. The people who work at this Home Depot are so friendly and knowledgeable. Every time I come in for a project and ask a question, they don't just answer my question, they ask probing questions to make sure what I'm coming in for is actually what I need. Far superior to any other Home Depot I shop at.

Been here often and normally pleased. Home Depot is Home Depot. Kinda like Walmart is Walmart in the sense that it's not an independently owned business; which often offers better service. In this case, the staff does better than most compared to large corporate owned stores.

Never very crowded so you're in and out. Love the self checkout. No human contact necessary. Once bought a dryer fitting and had to return for another part and not only did the manager send someone to fetch the part but offered me a soda while i was waiting. When the employee returned with the item the manager said "sorry sir that you had to return the part is on Home Depot". Now that's service

What is happening at the Home Depot of Houghton Lake Mi. The last few times we have been in there we have been totally ignored by staff. No one ask are you finding everything ok, No one ask can I help you, nothing. It was like we weren't even there. Really makes you want to go back. You don't even get a hello. Products are still of good quality not problems there. Just unfriendly staff and not helpful. I would hate to have to drive to West Branch, Cadillac, Gaylord or Mt Pleasent as much as we go to Home Depot

My husband and I stopped in the Houghton Lake store to do a visual and price comparison on a couple of items. While there we stopped by customer service for help joining the military discount program. Jennifer was at the counter and she was fantastic! She had us set up a d logged on in no time. KUDOs!

Needed a mini fridge for work. Stopped in during my lunch break. Was in a hurry but the dude working the register was going very slow... And wanted to chat about everything under the sun. And I had one item... Must have took 10 minutes to get rang up, payed with cash and get the receipt.
