Save-A-Lot supposed to be a good start to go to to save money on your grocery bill. Although for us, every time we go they're out of what we go after which is mainly meet. The wacky Wednesday deals are good. We usually find what we're looking for then. Overall we'll try it again, but the last two times we went they did not have the meat that they had on sale.

Friendly workers, low prices and quality products under they're own brand names. Some items of they're own brand name are better than the national brands at a fraction of the price. Open until 9 pm. For those of you that are busy or last minute kind of people like me lol.

Ran in for a couple of quick items.I love the fact that the owner replies to all the reviews.. It shows how much they care and takes pride in their establishment!!! Keep up the good work Save A Lot!!!!!! Changed my review to 5 stars because of that! :)

Beautiful remodeling, love the new flooring and the pops of color!!! Miss my favorite cashier so dearly since her passing ,but the Beautiful lady's they have hired are very attentive. They took the time to call someone to help me find what I needed!! ( the girl was even walking out the door for a break and stopped to help me)

Our go to grocery store. They may not have name brands all the time but the prices & employees make it all worth while. I love walking in & feeling like you know everyone, they are friendly & always willing to help. Don't forget to bring your own bag! Thanks Save A Lot for all that you do, keep it up!

Rude & very petty about the can returns. Lady had a attitude with us from the second we walked in with the cans. Other than that a good store.

3 stars for the store itself but 4 stars because the staff made the trip so much better. They are super fast paced at this Save A Lot, which is what I like. I always advise people to follow whatever diet their body and spirit agrees with, but personally I do not eat anything that is made from something with a face. This store does have a butcher so if that's your thing you can usually get the cut of meat that you prefer. 🤗

Nice, clean and good selection. Produce was fresh and was a good price. Meat looked good too. Only thing no premium ice cream like my local Sav a lot. I don't care for French vanilla but I'll muddle thoigh. Very friendly staff too.

Prices are pretty reasonable. Isles are easy to find items. Store workers always asking if we are finding everything ok. Very friendly & professional. Will be back.

Fairly decent. Could be a little nicer (eye catching wise) but, eh, whatever keeps the price low. They could use a little more variety. For example, I seen large containers of turmeric on one visit and on the next visit there was no turmeric to be found.

Save A Lot isn't my go to place. But there are specific select items I prefer to get there. What I like most is it's typically not overly busy. Still they have a good meat selection at very fair prices as well as a full line of groceries.

I enjoy shopping at Save a Lot. It is a small scale grocery-only store on Houghton Lake,MI. SAL carries the basics in food and staples at excellent prices. Don't expect name brands, but their house brands are tasty and fresh. Their fruits, vegetables & packaged meats are priced well. They offer selections suitable for meals planned around the casual dining that is popular in this vacation area of Michigan. Come prepared with your own bags or use the boxes at hand.

They consistently don’t enforce, nor say anything to, people not wearing their masks per the Covid related E.O. We have witnessed it all summer, and it puts others in danger. Finally decided to leave a review publicly after having reported them to the MDARD. Employees are polite, but do not want to say anything to customers either out of fear or management policy. Either way, they are in violation.

Sometimes you get pretty good deals. Jimmy Dean breakfast bites $2.99, other stores are $6.99... close sell by dates, but if you're eating them soon, bargain!

This is so odd, I was just there at about 9:10 pm or so, we got to the store and they said the store was closed, not for a another 10 minutes. I thought the one girl was super nice about letting get the few things we needed. The other girl was extremely rude I'm pretty sure she was the manager. She was walking behind us and closing the sliding doors down and kept giving me rotton looks she was closing doors as we would come up to them. I didn't catch her name. It disturbed me i wanted to ask her who peed in her cereal that morning.

This store is particularly disgusting!! The employees are not helpful and are rude. Very poorly managed. Also, it's a Coronavirus breeding ground. I would rather pay a few extra cents and shop elsewhere. They claim they don't want to lose customers, so nobody is required to wear a mask. They should be closed down!!!!

My wife and myself were there today when they opened, did our shopping and then went to the check out where we were informed by the girl they were only accepting cash as their card system was down ,the couple in front of us told her you should put up a sign informing people , her response was "I guess " , I'm really disappointed with b.s. attitude of some of these younger so called workers these days ,take no responsibility ,give no respect ,just want to sit there and get a check! Hopefully she grows up one day! P.S. my wife and myself are disabled and don't go shopping that much ,so we get most of our groceries when we do, so the $120.00 we planned on spending there went to Wal-Mart instead, thanks for the "professional work force " save a lot!

Our store here in Houghton Lake is always clean everyone that works here makes it a joy to shop there always happy and smiling very friendly love my Save-A-Lot prices aren't bad either through this pandemic they have always had everything I've went there for unlike other stores in our town

This save a lot has so much to offer from canned goods to bathroom necessities. I really enjoy shopping here and they have a nice size easily accesible parking lot.

Limited selection store, but a lot lower prices than Wally World or Family Fare. I generally try to buy my groceries other than Houghton Lake, due to limited stores to select from. I have never bought meat here, but noticed my last trip it looked very good.

We love Save-A-Lot some people turn their nose up to it but I have never ever had a problem with any save a lots in Michigan great meat great food every story has been clean everyone in it has been polite clean bathrooms which is a plus for me I just all-around love Save-A-Lot this would be the place to go
