Over 5 minutes before anyone said hi around 1pm 8/27. “Can I help you with somthing” I mean yes, I’m at your counter waiting to order food. Hi, how’s your day going might be nice, but hey I only worked in food service my whole life so must not understand. They unwrap my sub from plastic wrap and ask what I want onIt. Super fresh, I mean end of day sub was decent service was not.

Absolutely The Best Place In Town for Special "Smash" Burgers consisting of multiple premium ground meats blended into a patty for our enjoyment. The regular burger patties are amazing too. They have a meat market side as well. They Do offer salads! If certain meats isn't your thing, Plenty of options on the menu for everyone. Wonderful service and great hospitality.

Love this place! Great steaks, the Smash Burgers are the best you will find in town. Brisket beans are incredible and we get subs to take on the boat. Take-n-bake pizzas are good as are all of the brats. Great local meat shop with many extras, Dean and his team have been great to work with for larger events.

My first time in the snack shack was a delight. I was greeted by a friendly face. The place was very clean. I had the Philly steak sandwich and tomato soup. It was delicious. The soup was made from scratch, not poured from a packett or a can. I highly recommend Lake House Meat and Deli.

Excellent butcher and meat counter along with the side shack always having delicious meals too!Try their famous "Smash Burger" containing 3 different meats, it's the best tasting burger I've ever had and I had a favorite bar burger for over 35 years, but now I found a new contender!!

It's a good deli if you want to buy meat and cheese and sausages etc. It's not a great place for a sandwich at the attached shop. I was surprised when the nice lady pulled a premade Italian sub from the fridge and tossed some mushy veggies on it. Subway doesn't even do that. I could have done that for much cheaper at the Walmart next door. It's lazy and there is no telling when the sandwich was originally made. I do know it came with some stomach upset. I wouldn't recommend this place. If you want a really good sub, make the drive to Grayling and get anything at the Two Rivers Deli. Unless you like premade mystery sandwiches wrapped in cellophane.

The Italian sub is really good. The London broil is pretty all right. The hamburger is one of the better ones I've had in town. They also have a number of smoked meats ready to go and reheat at home. Strong recommend

This is the best smelling meat shop in the greater Houghton lake Michigan area. It's my first choice for fresh meat and bologna salid. I am thinking of collecting from the lovely seafood counter for the holidays .

We ordered the Shaved Steak Sub and the French Dip Sub. My French Dip was perfect, while my friend, who had the Shaved Steak Sub, said, "omg, what a great sandwich".Prices were competitive with other Sub shops, but the subs were bigger than the competition.Will definitely be coming back again.

This place is awesome. Very clean and friendly staff. They have a great selection of Hand Cut Meats. Their Pizza and Subs are out of the world with Fresh Smoked pork sandwiches daily. This is the place to go for all your Yummy food!

We purchased the meat bundle which was a really good deal for the $$We also got some house made Philly cheesesteak brats that were absolutely delicious! The owner Dean,is a very nice guy and his employees were very helpful and courteous...if you haven't been here yet,I encourage you to give them a try,you won't be disappointed

I got their burnt end dip last week and it made me incredibly ill. Throwing up n such for a few days afterwards. I’m thinking what I bought was NOT made very freshly. And, in fact when I called them they did stare that they don’t know when their dip was made and what day of the week they’ll be regularly making it. Took absolutely zero accountability for making me sick!! They should have a set day of making their dips and of course letting a customer know that what they’re about to purchase from their business has NOT been made recently and, you will run the risk of serious food poisoning as I myself have. I’ll never buy ANYTHING from this business and I’ll be sure that all my friends, family and colleagues know to NEVER give them any business. They used to be one of my favorites. I don’t know what’s up with some businesses opening up, doing well for a year or two and then, downhill EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!!! Unfortunately, HL has become a cesspool of these very businesses. Sad!!

We love this place! The negative reviews are rediculous and baseless. The folks running this store and personable, happy and willing to help. We bought 2 of their meat bundles for $99.00 each is a steal! Their special bacon, cheese burgers are amazing even pan fried. Yummy. Check out their specialty items, too. I've never been disappointed coming here for ALL of my meat.

I stopped here for the first time today. Friendly people. Great selection of quality steaks, brats, breakfast sausage, and deli meats and cheeses. They also sell made to order, ready to bake pizzas, which I was promised would not disappoint, and they were right! Delicious! Great butcher shops are few and far between in northern Michigan, and this one has a selection that is worth the drive.

Dean the owner works there!!! How often do we see that anymore? The place is clean, well stocked. They carry Boars heads meats and cheese and make a fabulous Italian sub!!! Their cherry brats are exceptional. It’s quickly become our favorite place to stop for meat and some supplies on our way into town.( and my husband really likes their bologna salad)

Their subs are far better than subway. They have a nice selection of meats-kind of pricey-but worth the money. We bought 2 ribeye steaks for my birthday and they were delicious. Usually stop there for a sub on the way home!

Where else can you order a pizza that can be customized w fresh deli items and home.made sausages. Don't hesitate to ask for a Dean special and you might find fresh pulled pork or Capicola on your pie
