Nice place to shop, can be expensive sometimes but thats every store. Fresh donuts (even the old ones thats been sitting out all day taste great) they have some fire chicken salad in the deli. Customer service is great, honestly the most friendly store to shop in town.

Great Grocery Store. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Chicken is awesome, especially for party's or large gatherings but order ahead. They even have free wifi.

But why is their store brand coffee SO GOOD?! Seriously! Every time we are near one we buy some "Our Family" brand coffee. The cherry 🍒 is AMAZING!Best cherry flavored coffee I've ever tasted! And I'm quite the coffee connoisseur! ☕️

We love Family Fare, just can't shop there often living in SE Michigan. Every time we're up north and need something, we go to Family Fare.We were heading from Houghton Lake to Mesick to take a disabled elderly friend some groceries. Instead of hitting the Family Fare in Cadillac we thought we would check out the Houghton Lake store.Having not been there, we weren't sure where anything was. It was laid out well enough and marked well we found everything quickly, except the sliced pineapple. Apparently they don't do any fruit or anything on weekends they said. We were disappointed not to get her pineapple she looked forward to, and I did have to stop at Meijer. We still loved our visit! Bought signs for our new home we'll move into soon as well.

I enjoy looking around in this store. It has a bakery/deli with all the items you would want. Smells so good when you enter. Since it is a smaller scale to Walmart, it has many perks. A nice clean store with pleasant employees. It is not crowded and feels good taking my time shopping. I really like Family Fare.

Great customer service; we were just visiting for ice fishing and needed specific items for my little guys. The cashier took us over to exactly what we needed. Everyone was so friendly. Thank you Family Fare! :)

More expensive than Wally's, sure. But the customer service here is amazing. My dog loves broth bones which I can only get here and the staff was super patient letting me pick ones out sized for her and repackaging them for me. They also usually have a better seafood selection.

Enjoy this store. Clean, great sales, good deli area. One fault, the produce section not that well maintained, needs closer attention to expired produce and items not restocked. My go-to store, cashiers are plenty, no long lines and personal check out experience.

Shop at the closest to me in Hastings typically. Decided to take a chance as had not been in here in years. Found everything I wanted including several options I had not thought of. A pleasant visit compared to going to Walmart and fighting the crowds.

I usually don't write bad reviews on any place or try to bash anyone. But a few weeks ago me my husband and two kids go into family fare. Like we always do, we love the shopping experience, always stocked, fresh food. But one issue rude customer service. My oldest son has adhd so it may be difficult for others to understand, long story short he had organic eggs and dropped them. He said sorry and even offered to help. The cashier whose named Ash was a little rude. Maybe she had a long day, so I didn't say much I said sorry and that he has adhd but also had been in the store for a long time. We came back a few days after and she rudely Said You don't have any eggs do you, because I don't feel like cleaning them up. FOR ONE Its her job and for second she shouldn't be rude especially to an 8 year old. So for anyone who goes into family fare when you see Ash say by the way I don't have any eggs. Maybe this could be a punishment for being rude to a family who comes in and shops daily. I just had my youngest 7 months ago yes we like family fare and it's close by. We just want a simple apology, that she has not given us. So until then I won't be nice Maybe she will get the hint

Usually a decent experience but last few times I've dealt with lady in bakery its like I'm doing her a disservice when wanting to order. Literally berated me because she didn't have help. Everyone is going though this thing, there's no need to take it out on the customer. Everyone else I've dealt with there has been courteous.

Brought back bottles back to the store to return that I purchased here and the bottle return machine keeps saying not accepted and when and got the girl 3 times to fix the issue and she pretty much said it is what it is and to deal with it and that not acceptable and now waiting on her to come back because when she reset the machine there was a bottle stuck and she just walked away not making sure all machines are up and running for the 4th time. I DONT RECOMMEND shopping HERE THEY ARE OVER PRICED COMPARED TO OTHER GROCERY stores in the area 😒

Very clean and tidy store,extraordinarily friendly staff and easy to navigate. You can shop, pay and load your car before you even get to the milk section of Walmart. But it comes at a cost. A huge cost. Common items are almost double what they are at Walmart. I wish I could afford to shop there more often, but Walmart prices everybody out. Sad

I love shopping at my local family fare supermarket in Houghton Lake Michigan, as I have been going there for well over 23 years. The store has always been clean and well stocked and include a variety of products and foods. The store associates are all friendly never met anybody that wasn’t. A great store to shop at.

Very overpriced on everything. But if your in a hurry it is much smaller than Wally's. Just be careful around the Deli counter, elder rude woman works there... Spoke to manager, no real care, actually took up for her, Yikes~! Have not been back since. 6 months now... And I was a regular to avoid the Summer crowds in Wally's. No more, when people are willing to pay way more on cost for their items in your store you should be giving them back rubs out the door.

The people here are always really nice and the prices are always skyhigh. It's sad to see small town workers doing such a great job, stocking shelves and even spending their hard earned money at the store they stock shelves at yet the corporation reaps the benefits.

This place was bare. Shelves empty. Smell unpleasant. Everyone kinda snarled at us walking around. So we left. I was excited to go because I have not been to one since my 2003 Holland Mi days. Nothing like that though. Yikes

Its the biggest grocery store in the area , they for the most part have your grocery needs , fresh vegetables, some bakery goods , frozen seafood, steaks , chicken, and pork , their brand chocolate peanut butter icecream is very good , it's handicap acceable . I gave 3 stars for the high prices , otherwise 4 star
