Such a great, fun store! It has everything you need hardware wise and other very cute and extremely well crafted souvenir styled items. Also, amazing metal garden art at very reasonable prices. The owners are wonderful, nice and kind people. Definitely worth shopping here.

Very cool scrap metal lawn decorations. There’s also some unique gifts like jewelry made out of sea glass and some old fashioned pops and other goodies. Most of all, it seems to be a great hardware store. I definitely recommend stopping in to say hi and meet the wonderful employees and owners.

I am so in love with this store! The most reasonable prices I have ever seen for handmade metal work! It is worth the drive just to see the store and then go across the street to the Port Hope hotel for the greatest burgers!

What a great place to visit for lawn decorations that are very different from any other place. I dare you to go here and not walk away with something for your home or cottage.

Cute and totally functional store. Souvenir shop in the front and helpful hardware in the back. Friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. The metal garden sculptures are wonderful. Lovely store in a hidden gem of a town. Lots of locally crafted gift items!Edit: I purchased some wonderful seasonings (the pepper dust is a great way to add some flavorful kick to a recipe) and a gorgeous sea glass necklace as well as some delightful flavored sodas from a frosty cooler, as well as a metal flamingo that was exactly what I needed. (He's called Dominic and is perfect next to our campsite flag)

This is the coolest "home town store" I have been in! Their restoration of this building was amazingly well done. Their selection of unique artwork makes a great place to pick up gifts for a wide array of occasions. And the hardware store is VERY handy when I happen to be in the area doing projects on my parents' home. Go check it out!

Great Value for shopping, for a quick fix, of window glass. Good assortment of hardware . Great outdoor yard art. Very nice people who are really interested in helping you find just what you need. Good coffee & soda, homemade soaps & candles. Fishing & Hunting Licenses. All around Wonderful place to shop. Or get a window screen fixed.

I am so happy to see a store like this open in Port Hope!! The selection of gifts, garden decor, items for the home, and the general hardware goods offer a great selection. The owners are so friendly and engaging and have worked so hard to bring the Mercantile back to the community. It is a true gem and well worth stopping to take a look around. On a side note, I love the selection of unique pops including Butter Beer!! I will visit every time I am in town!!

In addition to being a hardware store, they carry I would guess is more than 100 metal sculptures, all well done. I think that even a big rig could find parking near by.

Stopped in this place this morning on our way back home from vacationing in Port Austin. We stopped to look at the metal yard art work they had outside. We were expecting it to be way too expensive to buy, but we were wrong! It was priced in line with Amazon pricing on similar items and the best part is that it is NOT made in China like the Amazon stuff! We ended up buying 3 pieces and the owner (woman) who was there was so nice! She gave us some history of the building, town, and surrounding houses. Such a cool place, we will definitely be back next time we are in town!

A really fun place. They have everything; deer corn, bulk bird seed, garden decorations, bird houses, and all sorts of hardware and tools. A friendly place to be and the prices are good too. Ever one is treated like a neighbor.
