We were told this might be the best burger place in Michigan and they also have hand dipped malts. That was a great suggestion! Place was jumping with Sunday regulars and they were very apologetic. Once we ordered, everything came out promptly. The burgers were fantastic and came with fresh cut fries that were just the strong side of crispy - awesome. Chocolate malt was HUGE! We split it between ourselves and enjoyed every sip!We will be back again before we escape the snow and cold weather!!

Food was amazing and the place had a super fun vibe. I got pizza and my wife got the pot roast sammie. Both were to die for. The wait was super short and the staff were nice and friendly.

This place is very neat!! The retro decor really takes you back in time. When life was significantly more simple! Very nice staff and delicious food. The prices are very reasonable as well. Just checking out all of the cool decorations will pass the time while waiting for your food. Enjoy!

The place was not all that busy, I felt ignored but that is not reasonable thinking I'd say understaffed is most likely the answer, wate staff is very nice. It took 10 min just to get a drink and menu, ok well that can happen but if not being critical service is often prompt and delightful at Papa J's. The restaurant is really neatly decorated like a retro modern 1950"s dinner interesting to look at all the Kool paintings and things people looking all around tv on although watching sealions give birth on the Discovery Channel is not the best dinning entertainment. I ordered biscuits and gray 3 eggs hash browns and bacon. At 9:49 arrived at 10:21 so approximately 30 min the table that arrived 10 min after my arrival was served first well ok what can you do but twiddle your thumbs I have found reacting to such things is fruitless Nothing good ever happens with negative confrontational aggressive behavior. The food looks ok. Hash browns raw inside. Biscuits and grave are extremely good light Biscuits and the gravy is tasty and light and creamy 😋 great combo, eggs over easy nice jod there and bacon crisp 5 peaces ok, all in all food is good would be great but undercooked hash brown got Papa J's a good instead of exclent grade restaurant is nice wate staff is under staffed price high. I Would I come back yes I think on a different day an excellent grad wold be accomplished, Enjoy

This cute retro diner was a great breakfast stop for my husband and I while traveling through the area. They appeared fully compliant with Covid care. We enjoyed their menu as it was all car themed. I ordered a breakfast pizza (the Road Runner) and my husband ordered stuffed hashbrowns (the Shelby). Our food was good and service excellent. Portions very big. Definitely shareable. I didn't check out the restroom. We sat at a booth. That was the only downside...crumbs filled the crack between the seat and back. Sit at a table with chairs.

Amazing food, staff, decor!! Can't recommend this place enough! As of right now, they have: fish, salads, soup and salad bar, pizza buffet, ice cream, cake, pie, shakes, pizza, sandwiches/wraps, wings, appetizers, etc. They give you huge portions of food for great prices! The food pictured is: a Pollock dinner with cauliflower for $15.99, a Cod basket for $10.99, and the Clam strips appetizer for $7.99! 50's decor is super cute as well 😍

I love the lottle resturant they have the best food especially the ranch dressing. The service is wonderful and they try their very best to please everyone. When we were there it was a little cold in there and my suggestion is turn up the heat just a little higher so our teeth dont chatter as we are eating lol but we had fun and my son loved the cartoons thwy had on to watch.

We were in town and decided to order disappointed is a understatement.The taco salad was very poor. I understand food prices have went up,but to not even get a cup of burger and all lettuce is sad.Husband got a hot turkey sandwich,we are staying not even 3 min down the road and his gravy was cold had to reheat.

Got home an hour later with the food ate it room temperature and it was still amazing. The extra thick crust pizza is incredible. Super fluffy and crispy. Pizza bones are soo good too!

Cute little pizzeria and diner. We had pepperoni pizza, it was decent. Pretty affordable dining experience. Seemed more of an establishment frequented by locals as opposed to tourists which is the type I enjoy most. All the staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed all the nostalgic decor and the kiddo liked pointing out stuff he was aware of like the video game characters he recognized.

Eclectic diner-style restaurant with decent prices and good food. They have a buffet bar with some different buffet options (salad bar single visit, endless salad bar, full buffet) that are a good deal. Their pizzas have a good crust and a good marinara.

Grew up in Interlochen and haven’t had Papa J’s in almost 15 years. I live in Minnesota now, and about a year and a half ago I started to remember how delicious the pizza bones were, so this time while I am home visiting I made it a point to swing in. So glad I did. Just as delicious as they ever were.

Seems like it could be a neat place, but the pizza was pretty so-so (with the exception of the cheesey bread, which was delicious) but they somehow didn't have any cheese pizza in the pizza buffet (supreme and Hawaiian were represented, though?) and the staff seemed confused when I asked if there was any coming out. They said not on the current pizzas about to come out, but they could put in a request for the next batch. Who doesn't have cheese pizza as a staple in a pizza buffet? Just an odd experience all around.

We have had our car club cruise to Papa J’s a couple times. The food (we do the pizza buffet with salad bar) is always great and plentiful, the staff friendly and helpful. And the ice cream yummy.What more can I say. Go here you will enjoy the 50 style design!

I grew up around Benzie County and have been to Papa J’s multiple times. I’m in town visiting family and we decided to come eat. It was busy for a holiday week but no too busy. There were a limited number of servers it seemed like but still enough to cover the room. I feel like our waitress took a little long to get around to us and didn’t check in to see how things were going. When our food came out, my burger came out steaming hot, but my fries were almost cold and the fried mushrooms I ordered, that I asked to come before my meal, got delivered with my meal and were almost cold as well. So it’s a 4 star day for me, but doesn’t deter me from giving them a go the next time I’m in town visiting.

This place is awesome! 👌 we stopped here on our way home from camping up north on 7/27/22 looking for a quick bite to eat. The place was well staffed and very clean! Super cool retro look.. lots of things to spot on the walls while your seated. Two of us ordered the Chicago style pizza, it was one of the best pizzas we have ever ate! The other two got a pizza and club sub, very big portions and also super good! Three of us got the salad bar as an add on, the salad bar area was super clean and well stocked with fresh vegetables nothing looked old or bad. I would totally recommend this place to anyone, the price was right on and the leftover pizza was just as good warmed up for leftovers. I told my girlfriend we should move to Honor so we could eat here all the time! 😃

Papa J's is a great place. It is good for locals and travelers alike. The service is excellent, it's always clean And the food is always good. They keep the pizza buffet well stocked even close to close. My husband and I have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. I've tried a lot of different menu items and never disliked anything, and I am pickier than a two year old.I recommend the shrimp Po boy and the pot roast sandwich for sure.Kid-friendliness: Very nice kids menu with lots of choices.
