While on our family vacation we decided to take the kids kayaking. We stopped into find out about kayaking. They was supper nice helped us out answered all our silly questions. Made us feel at home even though we was miles from MO. The young man who took us to the parking lot were our trip would end. He also took us back to wear we was starting our kayaking journey. He was very polite and knowledgeable about the area and river. He was awesome. He unluploaded and took kayaks to the river for us even offered to help us push off. If you in the area I definitely recommend using them. They also offer Canoe and tube for floating. There store is pretty cool too perfect for last minute purches. Like water proof bag, food, drinks. Definitely recommend the ice cream there. We tried the superman we all enjoyed so good. I would definitely come back to this again.

Had a great paddle on rented kayaks from this place. Only one guy in store due to time of year, but he was very accommodating and helpful. Paddled right past the lower Platte weir and saw hundreds and hundreds of salmon getting to get to stream! (See photo frame taken from underwater video camera) There were a ton of fishermen, but they were very patient about getting their lines in and letting us sneak on through. Beautiful time of year. Saw more than one hawk (red trail we think), several Great Blue Heron and a beautiful Kingfisher flew low right over our heads. Colors just barely starting to turn colors, still mostly green.

Beautiful Day! 4 adults and 3 kids tubing the 1-hour Platt River float. We were told before departure that the current was really slow, so it would likely take closer to 2 hours. We started at 11 am and finished around 2:30pm - mainly because kids are slow and we had to stop to find wallet/phone that fell in the water (both found!). Honor Trading Post made the experience SUPER easy and fun!

Had a great experience with this company organizing a little tubing trip down the Platte River for my family. The staff were all super nice, very helpful with the logistics, and great about answering all of our questions. The tubes we rented were high quality and didn't seem like they have been duct taped back together. Oh, and the pizza we ordered was delicious too!

We've been coming here almost every year for the past few years and used to go to a different rental spot. The trading post has such great service. It's super organized and efficient to get on the river. Their shop has lots of drinks and snacks for the river. They leave on the hour, so just make sure you're there plenty of time before if you want to get out at a good time.

Super awesome staff, great fresh pizza. We brought our own kayaks up but needed to use them for a shuttle and we got a little lost and turned around but the owner even came looking for us when he thought we didn’t make it on time. Also they have a great beer selection

It’s a great trip but I just needed a ride back to the vehicle because we have our own kayaks. When we called they said no big deal, just show up and they would accommodate. We drove 3 hrs and they acted like they couldn’t accommodate and they were booked. After a lengthy discussion they finally accommodated our ride but definitely acted like they didn’t want to. If u have your own yaks I would suggest just figuring something out so u don’t have to stress and debate with the staff about just catching a ride back to your vehicle

Our family vacation spot is across the road from this place. Each time I go there the owner personally greets me no matter what he’s doing around the store, and half the time even comes out to make sure I find what I need. Great guy, great staff there helping out. I left today to head back to Florida and next time I’m up, this store is a place I look forward to visiting. Oh ya the pirates treasure ice cream is a must try!

Our canoe & kayak group have always used the Honor Trading Post for rentals since 2001 and never, every had a bad experience with this great outfit in Honor Michigan They have always treated us well. We will be back again next year for our 2020 trip in July!! Highly recommended!

We booked the 1.5 hr float for a bachelorette party, we all loved it! Staff were helpful, patient, and answered all our questions. Madeline specifically was extremely helpful and a joy. We will be returning!

Was a great lazy river to go down. Very slow moving but with a depth of 3 feet max we jumped off tubes and swam some. Drop off right @ the water where the kayak was unloaded into water for us. Some as the end. Young man named Christian took care if everything as soon as we reached shore.We took one kayak and 3 tube and tied together in a train the yakak pulling the tubes.

Our family completed a tubing trip and had so much fun we went back to do kayaking as well. The drop off to the set in point went smoothly both times with us having the ability to drive and park our car at the ending point. This left us fully flexible to enjoy the afternoon playing where the Platte and Lake Michigan meet! In addition to the excursions, the Trading Post sells tasty ice cream and other snacks and supplies. Fantastic experience in all regards!

Had fun, good value, good service from the people at the shop and van driver. Recommend the shop giving tips to first timers. We could have used an oar to help when we were stuck in a few places. Fortunately the water wasn't too deep and we could get off the tube and walk our way through the places we were stuck. Very beautiful area. Bring sunscreen, water, snacks. The cooler tube was great. We used a small cooler to keep wallet, phones and keys dry. Younger kids definitely need life jackets which the shop offers.

Did a float trip for my bachelor party. Outside of their credit card processing being down (which didn't matter because I reserved & paid online), I have no quips about their service. They provided 8 quality rafts + 1 cooler tube for our 3+ hour float trip down the Lower Platte River. The trip comes to an end when the river leaks out into Lake Michigan. Conveniently, the Honor Trading Post team allows you to pull your floats off to the side and they handle the rest from there. Highly recommend!

Trading post personnel were great. We had signed up for the 2 1/2 hour ride but they explained that the river was moving very slow and we were able to switch to the one hour ride which ultimately ended up being about 2 1/2 hours. They credited our account for the difference. They were friendly and knowledgeable about the route. Shuttle service was terrific. It was a great ride for our eight adults eight children. Would recommend them highly

Booked the longer tubing trip on the Lower Platte, but the staff let me know that the river was moving slow that day and the kiddos might get restless, so we downgraded to the shorter trip. The shop had everything we needed for the trip, including water shoes and snacks. They have all the details covered, such as parking passes and changing rooms. I’d love to tryout the kayaks on the upper Platte next time.

Went to trading post with a group of 22 (adults and children). We all showed up as a walk in and the staff had us all on the river in no time. The cooler tubes are perfect, impressive to hold a full size cooler. Very relaxing river.

What great service by the Trading Post team. Chief greeted as soon as we arrived and made feel very welcomed. The staff inside was courteous and ease to work with. The process to get/use the kayak was easy. The pricing was great.The staff that was dropping off and picking up the kayaks were very helpful and patient.This is the 6th year we have come to the Trading Post, and the service and kayak process has been great every time.Thanks everyone at the Trading Post for your service. We chose the 2.5hr trip even though we had 3 children. We parked our car at the put in point which means it wasn’t waiting for us at the end of the river as the website suggest. We had to take a van back to get the car. The walk to get to the starting point was not a good start as with 3 small children they struggled to carry their tube and our cooler was stocked. It would have been nice if they could have used the road to drop us off right near the river (I would have paid extra for it). If not I would have packed a smaller cooler or some sort of backpack cooler. The shop was out of ropes to tie the tubes together so I had to buy parachute cord. I’ll be sure to bring my own ropes with clips next time. The tubes had lots of old rope attached to them but not long enough to tie together and it was scratching the kids legs and arms so bring a knife to cut it all off. Once we were on the tubes it was nice however it was very slow moving and took us closer to 4 hrs to get down. I also wish the tubes had backs on them like many others we saw. I definitely recommend at least one kayak to lead with paddles or grab some paddles to use with the tubes. The lunch area was crowded with families who opted for the short trip so I would prob just eat before or after next time whichwould also make the initial walk easier without the cooler. Once at the end we sent only one person to bring the car back. The beach at the end was the best part and we stayed all day. Don’t bother with the weekly $25 park pass especially if you leave your car at the drop off point and just take the last bus back at 6pm.

Great experience with Trading Post. Made reservations online, then called and changed the date. Arrived, quickly did the paperwork and then followed the van to the drop-off location. Driver then took us to the beginning of the river. The river was excellent without too much traffic. Very fair prices and friendly staff.

Beautiful day kayaking and people at Honor Trading Post could not have been nicer. Check in was a breeze and everyone was quick to get me down to the starting point and out on the water. Gentlemen checking me in showed me a map of where I would be kayaking and suggestions for how to maneuver along the path which was very helpful. I highly recommend and can’t wait to go back! Also, I stopped on my way out of town and grabbed a sub (club) that was one of the best I’ve ever had!! Thanks for a great day.

Kayaking on the Platte River was amazing. The Honor Trading Post made renting, launching, and returning the kayaks, paddles, life vests, and seat cushions super easy and efficient.

They were super helpful! Everything went super smoothly. I had a few changes in numbers prior to our event and they were very quick to respond and get those number changed and refunded. When we arrived they were all very good about handling everything with the COVID restrictions and being very informative about the day. It was very windy so they forewarned us about areas that were difficult and were upfront about that they were happy we were in kayaks and would have dissuaded us if we were in tubes because it would have been difficult with the wind. They were right; we would not have made it if we were in tubes. They showed us a map and gave us a lot of information on what to expect which was super helpful to know how far we were and how far we had left. Nothing was unexpected which was very helpful. It was overall a great experience.
