I drive all the way here from Allegan every couple weeks for mice for my snake. Every employee I've ever asked questions has always been very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. I don't know who the employee was that was working today but I had never seen him before and was a little skeptical about asking him questions. I did anyway and he knew exactly how to re ssolve my issue. I'm thankful for VI pets of Holland and although it might be a drive, it's totally worth it. Thank you guys for all you do! Open up a shop in Allegan! 😄

Even after going to a few different places, this place seems to have the right vibe for connecting with some of the potential pets here. Many years ago, I ended up finding the sweetest cat at another V.I. Pets location.This time, we were looking for a first pet for my little one and we ended up finding the absolute sweetest hairless rats. I did not expect to walk out of there with rodents but like I said, the vibe there is just different. Another awesome thing is that because the rats were hairless, they didn’t trigger her allergies like furry animals do. Right place and right time made it all work out!

Horrible customer service. The manager Laura might need to look for a new job or just find manners. Was excited to ask a few questions about the online pics I seen and was rudely spoke to. Cut off and laughed at when I asked about the paperwork process. I’ve bought every animal I’ve had since in highschool when they were at the location across from kfc. Used to love this place and all my animals were loved until old age but now in the hunt for something different because I’ve had children and Will never come here again.

I absolutely love this place! The employees are awsome and very knowledgeable. You can really tell they care about the animals and take great care of them till they find their homes. We love the scaly babies we got from there!

Totally scammed by VIPets in Holland.We bought a “Newfoundland Doodle” puppy from them for over 1,000.00, when we took it to the vet a few weeks later we found out it would max out at 25lbs and there was no trace of Newfoundland in the pup at all.We were given no refund, no compensation, and no help. In fact we were told by the staff “You should have done your research before buying the puppy”. Not sure what kind of research you can do against a scam.I had been a very loyal and supportive customer for many years, with fish and reptiles. I haven’t and will not shop there again. It’s crazy they can legally be allowed to run such a scam.

Staff was kind although they were very high priced for their animals. I've seen lower prices elsewhere for hedgehogs. They could use more cedar to cut down the smell of the animals.

We have been here a few times. It has a big selection of animals....many I've never seen in a pet store. Today we got an Easter 🐇 named Tim. An adorable Holland Lop. There is a really good fish room with fresh and salt water. You can also get regular bagged food or food in bulk.

I have gone to VI pets for as long as I can remember and they have always had the coolest animals and kept the pet cages or tanks clean. They have always had friendly staff that is so helpful and so informative. They are clean and organized and have so many options for pet needs and wants! My favorite pet store in the area to get everything my dog, cat and rats need!

Its a nice local shop that somehow manages to carry a better selection than big chain stores like Petco. The staff were friendly and were able to answer my questions about their pet sourcing and age.They also have an excellent loyalty program!

Small business, does the very best work with what they've got to work with. Michael and Laura work every single day to no end to keep that place running. Animals are cared for, information about animals is available if needed. (some do come in surrendered and not doing well so they do their best to get them healthy)Facilities are not ideal. Upgrades to building needed, but not the fault of the employees. Very highly recommend!

This would be a great store but unfortunately they support puppy mills and backyard breeders. Would love to see them stop selling puppies and kittens.

Their inventory is generally not very large or impressive (limited types of light fixtures, feeder food, etc.) but the service has been nice each time and as I mostly only shop for feeders, they regularly have stock of pinkies and crickets.

Love V.I.Pets. I have been shopping there since dragging my parents there as a kid and through 2 location changes. Sweet, helpful workers. I'm a little iffy about selling kittens and puppies instead of working with a local shelter but that is a personal choice. Overall love them though.

Went here for crickets as they were on my way to where I was going for dinner. I asked the counter man for crickets and he pointed in the direction of another worker cleaning the dog cage . I asked him for crickets and he asked the counter man I previously asked who was sitting down drinking a soda to get me crickets behind the counter. The counter man immediately asked me what they were for which I replied a toad he then replied for a wild toad and I said yeah for one my son found. The counter man goes on to his coworker and myself about how bad that is and belittling myself and my son and shaming us for having a wild toad. After he gets our cricket's he randomly asks if my son has autism and I politely answer him that he has turrets syndrome and he asked does he randomly cuss? I replied no. Very unprofessional on the employee and very embarrassing experience for my son and myself. I'll continue to go to Chow hound and won't return here! Big mistake trying them!
