So we have been hear over an hour, still no food and no one was checking on us. When our waitress got busy at the bar I went and asked about our food, it’s been over an hour. She said it’s almost ready! 3 minutes later, she came back to our table and said that the cook lost the ticket and he was working on it now!Sadly no manager, no sorry, nothing.It’s a really neat place. And accidents happen. A manager or some service would have helped.

Our waitress was amazing. Very attentive and she was doing the bar and dining area! Drinks were made right and the food was very good! Some of the guys I was with got pie and they were all homemade. 100% will be coming back here on my next trip to the eastern up!

We had dinner on a Tuesday evening at 5:45. We were immediately greeted at the door and seated in the dining room. Taylor, our server, was congenial and very proficient. Our food was readily prepared. The 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our food; an Asian wrap, a pulled pork sandwich with slaw, a chicken Caesar wrap, and a crispy chicken salad. The only negative might be the Coke as it was lacking carbonation. We would definitely recommend dinner at The Islander!!

This is a UP Michigan gem! Great drinks and an amazing, hard working staff that actually cares about their guests. Topping it off is a fun, feisty manager who’s name escapes me. I’m sure I asked but all I got was a smile and “see you again soon”. Keep up the great work, cheers!!!

Excellent food at good prices. I highly recommend the perch and pike baskets ( the combo is plenty for 2 to share) and fish tacos. Good beer selection and creative mixed drinks. Their bloody Mary is the best around and they spice it up nicely when asked.Service is good. Atmosphere is nice.Always a good experience.

I’ve been coming to this little bar my whole life and have seen many changes. So far this is the best yet! The great food. Specialty drinks Homemade dessert and of course the servers cooks and everyone else who has made The Islander a must stop in the UP!!

Nice place & nice people, but the food has something in it that disagreed with my wife and I. The teriyaki sauce was so strong I couldn't eat it. The queso had some spice or chemicals that burned the lips like MSG does. Not sure, but we won't be back.

Cozy casual place to grab a bite to eat. Good menu selection. We like to sit on the screened in porch. Burgers, salads are good, reasonable prices. Hot popcorn to munch on while you are waiting for your food. Sometimes the service is a bit slow, but if you are not in a hurry, it's a great place to grab a meal.

We were there on a Sunday afternoon, lots of locals there watching the Lions game. Informal place. Service was fantastic, server was also the bar tender and she was busy. We each had perch sandwiches (one was perch po boy). Tons of perch on both and it had a nice crisp crust.

This bar is an awesome place to hang out on the occasional weekend night. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and they have some great live bands here. The service can really lack on weekends, as they usually only have a couple people working which can make for a long wait to place and receive an order. The only bad thing I have to say about the service though is that sometimes, more often than not, the mixed drinks are pretty weak. I myself am a VERY occasional drinker and when I do drink I always order Vodka & cranberry.. and I can rarely taste the alcohol in it.

They have decent priced drinks. The waitstaff was very nice and polite. They also have activities like bingo to win half off your drinks and more. One of the few places around to play pool at too. It's right off the docks too so you can spend all day in the water and your night at the bar.

Always swing in here when we are done boating. Great cold beer and well mixed drinks. Food is good, salads were especially good. We sat on the patio and it was very pleasant on a hot day.

Good food. POOR service.Blue cheese burger was fantastic but it woulda been nice if my waitress would of given us drinks. My waitress took our order and brought our bill, we had to flag others down for drinks ect. Another waitress brought our food after it sat in the window for 10 min.

Great place .Very good food. I had the pike tacos, excellent. My husband had the asian wrap he said it was the best .Tetiana was the best. She was the only one working and the place was packed . What a great job she did . We will be back.

Good food. Fun atmosphere. Service was pretty slow due to 1) sitting outside away from crowds inside; 2) a very large group arrived and server was distracted. Would have rated higher if they'd tried to be more attentive.
