Dear Hometown Pharmacy,I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with my recent experience at "Hometown" pharmacy.Last week, my doctor's office sent over a prescription to your pharmacy. With just three days remaining on my current prescription, I took the initiative to follow up and I learned that the medication was backordered. What was most disheartening was the lack of communication from your end – not a single phone call or message to notify me of this situation.When I inquired about the absence of communication, I was met with rudeness from the customer service representative. I simply wanted to understand why no effort had been made to inform me of the backorder. Instead of addressing my concerns, I was met with an assertion that I shouldn't have assumed the medication was in stock. I understand that staffing challenges can arise, particularly in current times, but I believe that even in such situations, basic communication with customers is crucial.To me, the term "Hometown" should symbolize exceptional service and support within the local community. It is with regret that I've come to realize that this does not seem to hold true in this case. If the pharmacy cannot provide the level of customer service that I believe every local business should strive for, then I have no choice but to explore other options. Consequently, I am in the process of transferring all my medications to another pharmacy.I hope you understand that my decision is not made lightly. Supporting local businesses is important to me, and I believe that a strong local community is built on mutual respect and cooperation. Regrettably, I feel that the level of customer service I received from "Hometown" pharmacy falls short of this standard. Thank you for your attention to this matter. This place is a complete joke. They take hours or even days if you’re not on them before they even fill a prescription. They never check their emails to get costumers prescriptions filled in a timely manner. Every single time I need to pick something up there is always an issue. When you call to make sure they do get to a prescription in a timely manner they are rude and short like they’re annoyed you’re making them do their job. Worst pharmacy I’ve ever been too and unfortunately it’s the only one in town.

Countless times prescriptions haven't been filled. Charged insurance full price and only gave half of prescription. Will not take responsibility. Told us prescription would be ready in 15 minutes. After arriving they say it wont be ready until tomorrow. Staff say they will call us back and never do. We are done with this branch.

Not sure what is happening to our pharmacy. Absolutely No reason a prescription that was sent on the 22nd should still be in the queue to be filled on the 26th. I understand short staffing but if you are that behind, quit taking scripts until you are caught up. I’ve made 4 trips to get these scripts. Decided i can’t wait any longer, only to be told they still are not ready. Get it together please or you’ll lose another customer. Very very disappointing!

Service was extremely rude and unhelpful. The front desk ladies lack customer service skills and empathy. I was told to go to a different pharmacy by the pharmacy staff themselves and that’s the only useful thing she said. Cierra has been the only kind employee I’ve met at this establishment.

Quick and easy for prescriptions. They have a lovely store on the inside as well. Kind of like a fancy gift shop. You will be surprised at the things you can find inside. Home decor items and other random things. Very nice place and friendly staff.

For some reason, this pharmacy likes to refuse filling prescriptions at their own leisure. My SO has been trying to get scripts following a surgery, and they keep denying prescriptions her doctor writes for her. Very unprofessional small town pharmacy that just does whatever they want, they don't seem to mind letting people suffer. They keep trying to tell us its an insurance issue, when we can just pay out of pocket, like we already have once before.Update - After having the doctor call the pharmacy 3 different times, they are finally filling the script thats been written, since the day before, with no mention of this whole insurance issue. Obviously switching to a different pharmacy, because all of this would have been completly fine anywhere else.

I have been going to this pharmacy since I moved to Penttwater 4 and 1/2 years ago. I have always been well served by the staff and the way they welcomed me and efficently handled my medication concerns. I have had changes in doctors and medication and all handled with care along with co-ordinatio of refills to lessen trips and eliminate my worries of running out with winter storms interfering with ability to get to pharmacy.Of course I enjoy the shopping for last minute gifts and looking at "stuff" and always find something I need. Hope to continue to enjoy Oceana Pharmacy form years.Thanks to all who work there.
