It was very enjoyable. Showers were nice and the water was warm. We camped in a tent and the campsite was very nice. Fire wood is convenient right at the campgrounds. We will return this year (2024)

Even in the middle of winter, this park is absolutely gorgeous. I'm so happy to have been able to walk the beach and look at all the beautiful rocks. Just a short walk down the beach and you can spot the lighthouse!

Great park and camp spots nestled under rows and rows of trees in all the colors seem to twinkle as the sun fills in the gaps with rays of light. Great beach, fun rocks and clean facilities. Also very decorated for Halloween 🎃

It was a beautiful day to visit. I didn't use the campground, but it looked like a lot of others were. They weren't all crammed together so there must be a lot of camping space available. I loved the location of the building housing the bathrooms and showers! My dogs loved exploring along the trail and I loved that it was covered by tree canopy so it was shaded and cool.

A fantastic state campground. Some spaces and sites are a bit tight, especially for a toy hauler, but some are also very large and easy to navigate. Boat access 1 mile away in town with plenty of slips. Park could use some ADA amenities like beach access mats or a beach chair for those that can't walk. Will be back next year!Playground: Nice playground with a nice 1980 metal slide hot as the sun's molten face and a pavilion at the day access beach.Restrooms: The bath house was very nice with hot showers and family friendly and ADA access to stalls.Dog-friendliness: The overall park is dog-friendly, but the actual dog beach was underwhelming. It was all rocks and not very accessible for anyone in a wheelchair to take a dog to.Picnic area: Plenty of room for picnics and great views.

Nice campground! Right by the water so there are some nice views. If you are in the right spots, you can hear the waves all night. Has very nice sandy beaches to lay out on and multiple spots to hang out at. Even have a baseball field for kids and volleyball net out at the beach as well. Bathrooms were very clean along with good showers. Would definitely recommend to stay here to anyone looking for a good place to camp. For anyone interested in the dog beach.... there really isn't anything there but a good spot to pick rocks.Restrooms: Has full bathroom and showers, all was very clean and had good hot water.Dog-friendliness: Plenty of campers with dogs, everyone was nice and lots of places/paths to walk. The dog beach is very lacking, though. Full of rocks even 15 20 feet out into the water and there is no beach, just more rocks.

Beautiful park and very nice beach. We stayed in the small cabin - #186 and it was 70’s out. The cabin has a small fan so it was very warm when sleeping. The site does not have any shade at all. The park is very dog friendly and we were excited about the dog beach but apparently it’s been closed for some time. Negatives - the first night we were there I was sitting with my 24 year old son and my 5 year old grandson. We were talking and I think my grandson was giggling as we sat around the campfire - it was about 10:45. Another park employee scared the stink out of all of us when he came charging up to our fire with a flashlight in our faces - he said we were being way too loud - and I thought he was joking. He reminded us that quiet hours are at 10 pm and I can assure you we were not yelling but talking in normal voices. He is lucky I didn’t stand up and defend myself and my five year old grandson who was scared to death - he never introduced himself as a park employee - we almost packed up and left at that point because we thought it was very strange. Secondly, the cabin sits across from the Park Hosts - we were putting some branches that were on the ground in the fire on the second day and a park employee drove up and scolded us for cutting branches - which we did not do. We were told later that the Park Hosts thought we were cutting branches because they sit outside all day and pretty much have direct line of site to the cabin - we felt like they were watching us the entire time and we ended up packing up and leaving a night early. Great park, but I would not choose to stay in cabin 186 ever again or near this area of the park.

We stayed at site 76. It was diagonally across from the restrooms and the beach. We stayed on a holiday weekend, so it was pretty busy. It's a nice wide site. We had a tent, so plenty of room. There were some smaller sites, like the one across from us, right on the beach. Not sure how we would have fit on there. They only had 3 stalls in the women's room, but they had 6 shower/restroom combinations. There were also 4 regular showers. All private rooms. Because it was busy there was usually a wait for the restrooms and showers. Saw people regularly cleaning the restrooms and showers.

It's a great campground with beautiful views. I will say this, the campsites near the water are small and tight. The pictures on the website made them look bigger than they were. It was a tight squeeze. But the views were amazing.

Great state park. Stayed with my family of 5. Kids are 15, 9, and 7. Also with 2 dogs. Clean and right on lake huron. Great beaches, walking trails and playground. Bathrooms are always clean but they were very busy. They have a person that sells firewood by the cord and face cord for longer stays (they come right to your camp site). We've been here several times and will continue to go back. Close to town!

I really enjoyed this state park. They offer a campground and like most of the shoreline of Lake Huron, there are rocks on the beach. But this beach is not nearly as rocky as some of the other spots of Lake Huron. The swimming on the beachfront campsites seem to be very popular during the warmer sunny days. With that said, the beach is very nice. This state park is also very clean and kept up.Overall, this is a very nice state park that offers camping and swimming.

A great destination for the whole family. Extremely clean facilities, the beach was very clean too! It was quiet at night and everyone was quite respectful to each other. There’s so many areas to walk along, the beach is so beautiful! Don’t let fall deter you from a visit, our family camped the last weekend the campground was open and it was perfect! Highly recommend!

Wow did we love our time here in Mid-May. We were able to get a spot right on Lake Huron, it was hard to leave! Campground is nice, main Bathhouse was super clean and updated. Staff were very friendly throughout our stay. We enjoyed walking the trails in the park and the trail to Downtown Harrisville. We will be back!!If you come here, I’d recommend you also take a little time to check out Sturgeon Point Lighthouse. Really cool lighthouse and plenty of lakeshore to walk.

I believe myself to be a pretty tough critic. With that said, this was our first camping experience within our home state.People: Everyone was nice, and helpful! This is a great look for us newbies.Campsite: Phenomenal. We were in a site that was just a few steps to the beach! Though we didn’t use them, the picnic table and fire pit was nicely placed.Environment & Amenities: Someone’s always driving around in the cart for assistance. You can call or hit up the welcome/check-in center as well. A company that sells wood via delivery of half cords or greater, but has a vending machine of 1/4 cords or bundles. Restroom facilities are well maintained. A few trails for walking and or cycling/boarding.So far so good. We will definitely be back!

Very nice Michigan State park on the shores of Lake Huron. We camped here for 1 week. Basic amenity of power but had a very nice clean shower house and bathroom. We stayed the week before Memorial Day so very early in season.

We loved this place. Right on Lake Huron especially if you can get a good spot but it all was good. Very new modern clean bathrooms. They delivered firewood. Staff at the park also very friendly. Very gorgeous views of the lake as well. You can also fish right off the rocks by the dog beach which is also very clean.

We came to Harrisville state Park for a second time when we realized how close it is to Au Sauble River where we wanted to go paddle boarding. I love the beach in harrisville and campground is very pleasant. In ice cream shop in front of state park is always a must!

Stayed at the mini cabin for a winter adventure trip. It was very clean and cozy. Dogs are allowed at this cabin so that was a big plus. Only negative was the vaulted toilet was full and smelled just as bad as it does in the summer.

A great park to enjoy the fall colors. Was here multiple times for fall colors the lake attached is just an added beauty to this state park. Both the time we were lucky that the place isn’t crowded. Got some great clicks with fall colors every time when we are here. Great amenities as well... picnic areas, grills, wheelchair accessible restrooms, children park area as well as pet friendly. Park for free with your recreational passport.

Loved Harrisville State Park. It's very clean and the beach is filled with sand and stones! Great for the rockhounds and the kids that just want to play. The restrooms are clean. We like to rent mini cabins throughout the state in the state parks. Their mini cabin is in the oddest spot with not that great of scenery....otherwise the park and campgrounds are great. I hope they plan to put a mini cabin near the water someday!

Wonderful park on the shore of lake Michigan. If you get the rustic sunrise cabin, bring lots of battery lights. Its big, but dark inside. Otherwise great cabin. You cannot see the sunrise from the cabin. You will have to walk a couple hundred yards to the beach to do so. Park has new and wonderful shower facilities with power and hot water.

Absolutely loved this park! We do a lot of camping in Michigan and so far this has been one of the best parks we gave been to yet. Besides the beautiful surroundings and stunning lake view, here are a few of the perks we especially enjoyed: The pet friendly portion of the beach (our dogs thank you for this!), paved bike trails, an abundance of extra large showers with private toilets and sinks, the large sink for dish washing (SO THANKFUL FOR THIS), the Little Free Library (we added one of our fave books in there!) and the toilet paper selection (not 1ply!). They all sound like relatively little things but they are HUGE conveniences that we really appreciated, and they helped set this park apart from any other one we've been to. Can't wait to come back again in the Spring!

Very well maintained campground with helpful and friendly staff. Clean facilities, good firewood. Deductions for sites being pretty close together and vault toilets were all closed making for a long walk to the main bathrooms. Main beach is rocky and not great for swimming. We came here for what we thought was a dog friendly beach but that area is 100% rocks and virtually unusable.Enjoyed our time but likely won't be back.

Clean beach, just stopped in for a swim. The rocks were rough on my feet, needed my water shoes but once about waist deep it was all sand. Bathrooms were clean. Slides on the beach for the kids to play.

Absolutely beautiful! Beach is a little rocky, great for finding the perfect rocks. Restrooms are fabulous. Someone was really thinking when they built the new shower house/Restrooms. Camping for 5 nights, site on water is super handy. Day area is nice to it you just want to come for the day.
