I understand having a large stock of items. However, it is just too chaotic for me. I get anxiety walking around the place since it feels like everything is just placed in a spot it fits. If you use a cart, navigating around the place is horrible. I often feel that items are overpriced. Personally, I do not recommend it.

3 stars - here's why. I thrift very often, and I've shopped at New Beginnings probably 15-20 times over the past 3 years. They have a huge inventory with lots of variety, probably some of the greatest range of things in one store in Northern Michigan. I've found some amazing finds there (particularly clothing) from the Harbor Springs locals who donate. The prices are usually decent (sometimes you can find really good clothes for $1-2 with their sales) but some things are just unreasonable and overall the prices have risen dramatically in the past year or so. In particular, most of the furniture has become ridiculously priced. Random wooden chairs and dinged end tables are $50+, a stained, torn, discolored leather couch is $140 - the types of things that a lot of people would have just put by the curb. If you are looking for nice antique furniture, they do acquire lots of home furniture from the well-to-do cottagers and price it in the $200-$900+ range. But I was looking for a used side table, lamp, etc. for my new apartment and could hardly find anything that I could afford. I understand that everything has value depending on what people are willing to pay, and that all the funds go to supporting their church's mission/community projects/paying staff. But as a working-class / low-income person, I can no longer recommend going there for furniture. The artwork, frames, décor, and even the really niche, who-would-buy-this knickknacks are also generally overpriced. My main problem is that they are pricing things like they are a high-end boutique while their warehouse environment, cleanliness, & organization says otherwise - they are very much NOT a boutique. In fact, I get a little stressed out every time I visit. I would bet the warehouse would be a lot less overflowing and cluttered with stuff if they had a better pricing system. The parking situation is a little sketch, too; it has started to get really crowded, and the cars can park haphazardly trying to fit in around the construction workers next door (parking lines would help). If you've never been, definitely go and check it out though. As I said, there is a wide selection to browse and there should be something for everyone. Hopefully, my feedback helps the store in the long-run because I do want it to succeed - I just wish things were different and that their store actually reflected what most locals who thrift need and can afford. Wish y'all the best.

The best thrift store I've ever been to, no competition! I always find something, whether it's a little trinket or a new outfit -- they have such an incredible selection. The staff is also super friendly!

TLDR: Huge store with prices that serve the underprivileged. This warehouse size store has everything!Pros: Prices are good, wide selection including affordable furniture section, tons of clothing, and they run special sales occasionally. The staff can be hit or miss, but they do seem to care about their shoppers.Cons: dirty and inventory rotation is mixed depending on section.

Always A LOT of items to browse through. Unfortunately, most items are overpriced. Furniture, especially, VERY overpriced. Giving 4 stars only because the selection range and building size is impressive.

One of my favorite resale shops! It's even better since they reorganized it in the last couple years. Always new items being out and super great prices! And always friendly people to help with anything you need.

I have a hard time reviewing thrift shops. This one is large had has some upscale items but you will be paying more for them. I this it is a little over charged on items. Mostly tshirts and are asking $3 for them which I dont think is that good of a deal but that might be me. I have been several times here but have never found anything I would want there but I am heavier and in the smells and extra smells are cute.

I bought a salt lamp there and the lady at the register was super helpful. She insisted that we make sure it works before we paid for it. We tried several bulbs from around the store and while they fit the lamp they didn't fit the wattage from the cord. Either way I was convinced it worked and brought it home. It's sitting on my dresser putting out light as we speak. We also got a table and I got Silver Jean's for $15

The only place that delivers furniture. We don't have a truck, so we really needed our furniture delivered. Cost an extra $50 but worth it.

I actually shared this location with my mother-in-law, located in Petoskey between Petoskey and Harbor Springs, this place is so big and so crazy inside you almost need a road map but there's so many Treasures, everywhere. We love coming here, and it's for a great cause to, I believe Catholic charity, will be back

What a fun find! A plethora of retro and vintage barware; mix or match some sturdy rocks glasses, vodka glasses, or lovely stemware! Inexpensive extra holiday cocktail glasses, and a stylish and green alternative to the Red Plastic Party Cup.

Staff was extremely rude (one in particular) when we tried to donate items on an apparent "half off day". Staff barked at us like we were supposed to know you cant donate items on half off days. Extremely inappropriate the way staff engaged us.

Best resale shop in town, with very polite and helpful staff. Good place to rehome clothing and furniture. I recommend this place far better then goodwill.

I’m from down state. My wife and sister in law wanted to go here. There’s a good variety to choose from. It’s consignment, so it is what it is. Prices are pretty fair tbh.
