Thank you, Dr. Barna for coming to our rescue on Easter Sunday.Our dog, Frank found a round bone that he managed to get stuck on his lower jaw. It was stuck behind his lower canine teeth. We couldn't remove it ourselves. He was panicking and clawing at it to the point that we was bleeding and drooling.We called our other vet, CCVC and it referred us to Northland Vet for an emergency call.Dr Barna was quick to pick up the phone and had us run him up to Northland Vet immediately.She gave him a shot to sedate him and quickly removed the bone. He was a bit groggy on the way home, but he's back to his mischievous self now. LolThanks so much, Dr. Barna.Words cannot express how much we appreciate you helping us, especially on a holiday. ❤️

My dog had a wound/injury on his side. Northland Vet got him in promptly & Dr. Olson treated him & developed a plan of care. The vet tech was helpful in giving tips to make home care easier. Teddy is healing well! Thank you!

My family and I were camping when our Dog had gotten sick and needed emergency care. We were not regular clients we were hours from home.Dr. Brandon and staff were welcoming, kind, and handled our situation with care and respect.I would recommend this clinic to absolutely anyone.Thank you so much again for coming in on your day off to take care of Bentley.My family appreciates all of you so much!

Don't bother going. Don't answer the phone half the time but when they do it's an inconvenience and treat you with disrespect and an attitude when you forget an appointment which never has happened before but I did for the first time and i felt terrible about it. Not everyone is perfect like the lady who called me back just to ream me out because I missed it.

We are in Houghton w/our 5 month old (50 lb) puppy from Green Bay for some hiking. Yesterday our pup got the zoomies a few times, running lots of crazy circles on a couple different beaches. She loved the water & open area & we laughed at her goofiness, until she sat, rolled on her side & started shaking. We panicked until we found Northland Vet. Clinic online. They took information, asked our arrival time & set us up immediately. Lindsay & Dr. Brandon were so kind handling our pup, very thorough in evaluating her, and clear & compassionate in our conversation. Everyone we met at Northland was amazing! As we were leaving, the receptionist asked how our pup was. She was happy to hear she’ll be fine. Today we got a follow-up call to ask how our dog is doing. We were blessed to find Northland, Lindsay, Dr. Brandon, the whole staff… Thank you!

The service my pet received was wonderful. Everyone was so nice. Then there is Karen, she definitely is not part of this 5 star rating. She gives true meaning to the term "KAREN". And she is the so called office manager. People skills Karen, people skills. She definitely lacks them.

I am from 4.5 hours away. My dog slipped a disc in her back on a Friday morning. All the vets in the area wouldn't see her because she wasn't a client of theirs. Keep in mind she was partially paralyzed in her back half. Northland got me in right away, no questions asked, and didn't charge me an emergency or nonclient fee. This is the best place I have ever taken her to. 2 days later, I got a call from the vet who took care of her. He wanted to see how she was doing and make sure I didn't have any other questions. Then he sent a refill of her prescription just in case she was still in pain after her 7 day supply was out. I can't say thank you enough for everything they did for us!

Brought my dog in to express his glands, could hear workers swearing in the back. They told me there was nothing in the glands then brought my dog home and expressed them myself with plenty coming out.

We have been camping at McLain’s for almost 18 years and have a pack of rescue dogs. We have used Northland Vet through the years and they have always been helpful and kind. Most recently, 9.28.23, we had an emergent situation with our little long-haired chi, Pixie. She had a reaction to a calming chew and we thought we were going to lose her! It was on a Thursday night at 9:00 p.m. and we were scared. We called Northland Vet and Dr. Brandon got back to us quickly. He shared they are not a 24/7 vet and recommended other vet hospitals, but then was willing to triage Pixie. (Thank goodness since we had a horrible experience at PAW Health a year ago.) Dr. Brandon and vet tech, Megan, met us quickly at their building at 9:00 p.m. and triaged PIxie. They were kind, respectful, compassionate and put my fears at ease. They kept Pixie on IV’s overnight. Despite the fact they did not have staff monitoring Pixie, we felt comfortable that she was in the best situation possible. We greeted the staff the next morning, Pixie and her labs were doing great and we took our little angel of 9 lives home! We have a fantastic vet at home, but this service provided by Northland Vet is nearly unheard of anymore! (We would have not gotten this service at our home vet.) This adds to my long list of reasons why Yooper friends are the kindest and sweetest people on the planet, always taking “Midwest Nice” to a new level! Thank you for being the best and for helping our little girl! We are still in awe at this positive experience and deeply grateful you were willing to meet us so late and help our family!

My doggie had been sick for almost a week with vomiting and diarrhea. I had called another vet clinic and relayed the situation to them and they told me to wait a few more days and try feeding him baked chicken and rice . By evening he was even worse , vomiting violently and I really felt waiting any longer at this point was a bad idea. I called northland vet clinic under an emergency and Dr Brandon called me back within 10 minutes. (The other vet clinic never even bothered to call me back BTW when I left them a message explaining that I thought this situation had now become an emergency, how rude) Dr Brandon listened intently to the situation, then explained that he had an opening right away the following morning at 830 and that he would meet me at the clinic . His parking lot looks like a supermarket parking area when you arrive ,no matter what time ,he is packed. His staff is wonderful and caring and went over instructions carefully with me regarding his medicine.

Yesterday 4/1/21 was my first visit since me and my buddy gunnar moved up here and we both were extremely happy with the care and service .they treated my dog as if it was their own and made sure he had the best of care and treatment . highly recommend this vet

Our babies get the best care everytime. Ernest and Otso love coming to the vets, they get lots of love and pets. Northland is quick, affordable and kind. ♡ We will always bring out babies to Northland. Our Doberman has been a frequent flier and everytime has been taken care with so much love and compassion! We are grateful!

Went to pick up the family dog from his neutering appointment. It was paid for by a voucher but they still kept hounding me for money. I felt like I was being ripped off and they would not give me back my dog basically holding him hostage until they got the money. They have no remorse or compassion for another. They lack customer service and if I could give them no stars I would because they deserve no recognition at all. They are very rude and I will not be going back there or recommending them to anyone!

Tried to make an appointment. Was told wait time is 4 months. They offered a $300+ minimum cost appointment as an “emergency visit”. This is their model. Schedule months ahead or pay a crazy fee.They want you to pay the $300+ fee for a basic 30 second visit.I was then called months later and told they are a private company and because I posted on social media about my concerns they won’t see me anymore as a customer.Here’s the thing. I left a private post on my private Facebook. So they literally stalked me and found my post. Then cited the negative review to my own friends and family as a reason to kick me out.Maybe don’t treat customers and pets like trash and they won’t feel the need to complain.Now, I’m happy to leave a large amount of negative reviews. You want to cite my reviews as a reason to kick me out? I’m more than happy to fill the entire page with review after detailed review.These guys just want your money. They don’t have compassion and they have killed my friends pets. Do not go here. They are not compassionate. They are money hungry.Ps I am a local business owner. People complain about all businesses. The difference here is that I address every customer with respect for them and their concerns because they deserve to be heard. Return customers are the only reason my business is successful. Maybe they should learn that lesson.

We had to put our pet down which was very hard to do but the staff was so very friendly and you can tell they cared alot. They were very considerate of the situation and very gentle. They were amazing and kind and professional but treated us like family. I'd gove more stars if I could but excellent place to bring your loved pets knowing thier kind treatment in delicate situations. Love them!

Northland Vet stalked my Facebook and called me today to kick me out because I left a “negative review” about their 4 month waiting period being unacceptable on social media months ago.They tried to charge me $300 for a regular visits and call it an “emergency”. I went elsewhere and paid less 1/2 of that price for the same visit. The other place didn’t call it an emergency because it wasn’t.If they had an issue with one negative review then I hope they appreciate the 10 new ones. As a local business owner myself the lesson here is to listen to your customers, show them respect and not to stalk them on their social media pages. I imagine if I did this as a business owner my customers would also be upset and rightfully so. They show no respect for clients and only want your $$$ do not go here!!!

The staff were the friendlies nicest people! Also the rooms were really quiet you couldn't hear dogs barking or cats meowing which I feel like really helped my cat's comfort level as when he was brought to another vet he seemed significantly more stressed by how loud it was. The vet and the nurse both were very gentle and very kind to my cat and I never felt rushed like they didn't want to answer my questions, rather I feel like they enjoyed their jobs and enjoyed being around my cat! All in all this is the nicest veterinary clinic I have ever been to.

I have always received excellent veterinary care, including emergency response, at Northland with all of my pets (cats and dog). They have also been so kind and compassionate when one of my pets has needed to be euthanized and/or cremated. The doctors and staff are wonderful. The clinic also supports KSNAG, a local cat rescue and no-kill shelter.

Staff is very polite and services are affordable. They are nice and thorough with both my dogs. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences and leave with a smile everytime. Scheduling appointments is starting to get further booked out but I'm used to way worse downstate.
