I was hired as the assistant manager and I decided I didn't want to stay. I didn't quit, but I did try to give my boss a heads up that I was looking for a new job and I wouldn't be staying with the company much longer. I told her I would give her as much notice as I could should I find a new job before leaving Family Dollar, but that there wasn't really a point in me continuing major training as I would probably be leaving soon. She immediately called the district manager and told her I walked out and quit. (I found this out the next day) I did not. Then she let me work the rest of my shift. The next day I asked about working my next shift as the night before she told me when I was leaving "I'm not sure if today is your last day, I'll need to call the district manager". This made no sense to me as I did not quit and I was not fired. Today she texted me and said I was fired. I called the district manager and she said she was told I walked out and quit. There was no reason for any of this. I was just trying to give her more time to prepare should I need to leave suddenly for a new job. I was still fulfilling all of my obligations and duties as an assistant manager. Just posting this to raise awareness as to what happened since I can't get through to HR to report any of it.

Employees don't care about customers. They sit outside in their car smoking while customers are standing at the checkout. One time I left my money on the counter and a note because there weren't any employees to be found - after waiting several minutes and ringing the bell several times. I don't think the owners care much either because they never reply to the reviews. I feel bad for the employees, they must get treated poorly, based on their customer service.

Don't buy anything from Tina. She has a side business going of ts and hoodies. The print whatever you want on them. I won a contest for a free hoodie. The first time I met her I knew it was gonna be bad. Tried to intimidate by staring at me . I have brown skin and I think that had a lot to do with it. Told me would be Done next day. Was finished a week later. Also was going to make me a hoodie for my veteran son that passed away two years ago. Even showed me what she was going to put on it. Never got it. Store sucks! Don't go there they are not good employees

Great store, love their freezer selection, it’s a little crowded as in the isle feel so close to each other.

Love this Place! Always has that thing you just cant do without! Heath & Beauty Supply, Cleaning Supplies, & Holiday Supplies are always more reasonable than the Chain Stores!

The store is hardly ever open by the hours posted. I’ve waited 10-30 minutes after their stated opening time before driving away because their doors are still locked.

Don't shop grant family dollar ;have rodent prroblem and cashier not helpful at all she was out in her car smokin while customers were in store one was at counter
