I only have the best things to say about Wealthy Street. They always take amazing care of my pug! She loves everyone at the hospital and I am so grateful for their kindness. When my pug had a mast cell tumor, they were able to offer a solution that most veterinarian offices don’t provide. They were able to remove the tumor without surgery and she has since recovered - tumor free and happy as ever. 😊

I love the Wealthy Street Animal Hospital! Dr.Privette is absolutely amazing with both of my dogs & kitty. We have been seeing Dr.Privette on a regular basis for over six years now since we moved to Grand Rapids & have never been less than extremely satisfied with the care she provides to me & my animals. One of my dogs is extremely anxious & Dr.Privette always goes above & beyond to ensure the comfort of my dog. They also have another location, the Wyoming Animal Hospital which has been very helpful for a couple of last minute appointments I have had to schedule over the years.Thank you Doctor Privette!♥ Adonis, Sinoda & Jabari

We have a very anxious dog and the entire staff is friendly and accommodating to her. We love how easy it is to refill our dogs' meds online and it's always ready quicker than expected. The communication and transparency about the times they are short-staffed are greatly appreciated. It makes it so we have all the information we need to get what is needed for our pup. Thank you!

At Wealthy Street Animal Hospital my dog always feels comfortable :) The vets and rest of staff are very friendly and open to all questions. Typically able to schedule appointments pretty fast when we need to get our dog in for a quick visit. Definitely recommend if looking for quality care.

We have been going to Wealthy St for a quite a few years now after a bad experience with another vet. Jenn, at A Pleasant Dog recommended them and I'm so glad we made the switch! We have had nothing but positive experiences at Wealthy St and they are patient with my reactive dog and it puts my mind at ease knowing that he won't be rushed or even more nervous than he already is.I believe their prices are fair and they have never pushed me to do something I wasn't comfortable with. We are in and out in an efficient amount of time and both of my dogs love everyone on staff here!🐾 Finn, Violet, and Allie

Our experience with Dr. Sarah Privette was great when we brought our cat in for bladder issues. His bladder issues were resolved and she helped us get him on a prescription diet to address his weight. The whole staff is very knowledgeable and kind and the downtown location is very convenient for us.

This vet has been really good with my cats. I have one that is prone to health issues and they have fit us in a few times in a crunch. The front desk guy is super nice and I like that they are LGBTQ friendly. This place is rather expensive and they charge significantly more for medications than purchasing online (which autoships to your house). Hence the 4 stars. Overall, a good experience.

Our miniature longhaired daschund goes here for his vet appointment. The staff is approachable and knowledgeable and they make sure your pet is well taken care off. The clinic itself is nice and clean.

Friendly, efficient, thorough, and affordable. Having just moved to the area, I didn't know where to bring my cat for evaluation, however due to ease of getting an appointment quickly and location, I choose to go to this clinic. My experience was wonderful, the staff was very friendly, knowledgable, and cost-conscious. They took extra time to educate me about my cat's medical problem, and offered resources where I could find more information. They regularly have discounts on things like heartworm medications to help with costs. Not to mention, the entrance with its big windows and warm sunlight make it a pleasant space all around.

Whether it be documentation, medication or the actual visit - Wealthy Street Animal Hospital goes above and beyond to care for our dog. He gets excited when visiting thanks to the team's special attention and peanut butter. Thanks, all!!

I love the team at Wealthy St Animal Hospital! They are incredibly caring and gentle when working with my dog, and always follow up to see how he's recovering from ailments and procedures. He loves and trusts them too, and looks forward to his vet visits!

I am new to the area and was initially very excited when I discovered there was a vet clinic within walking distance that we could potentially make into our go-to neighborhood clinic. I quickly realized that this was not going to be our clinic that I had hoped for, for multiple reasons.I just needed an up-to-date fecal check for my pup so that he could be boarded for an upcoming stay while we are away, so this was the sole reason for this specific appointment. When I scheduled the appointment I was told it would be a set amount. However, in answering questions during the check-in process I felt it important to mention how my pup does not like vet visits and when they asked me follow-up questions on this matter I shared the anxiety he has been dealing with for some time. Again, this was not my reason for the visit, and nothing new, but when they asked me questions I answered them because that’s what you do, right?! Apparently not! Be VERY cautious at this clinic, when it goes into any detail at all they will up-charge the heck out of you without warning! I left with an additional fee because the receptionist (who was also extremely rude) told me it had turned into a “concerns” visit. Again, I was not notified of this at any point during the visit until I walked out the door. I had no knowledge of any potential for extra charges until this moment. When I asked for a reconsideration of this fee because of the lack of notice I was strongly denied! In addition to this, I have never in my life felt so judged and shamed for my pups anxiety walking into a clinic and answering their questions honestly. Dr. O’Brien truly made me feel like I have done nothing right to help my dog with this. Despite the multiple trainings we have done, composure chews, CBD, and meds to help with this behavior. I know that my dog has made progress along the way and trust the trainers methods we have used in the past. It was not good enough apparently for the doctor, despite all of our efforts to date. I felt disrespected and completely deflated, not the way I would like to be treated in a clinic or otherwise by anyone.. ever! She handed me a bunch of pamphlets at the end of our visit for the select few brands that she recommends, knocking down any and all others out there.Obviously, I will never be back to this clinic and am shocked this is how they run their business. Please do yourself a favor and seek out other vet clinics who will treat both you and your pet with the respect and decency we all deserve. A place that will not shame or judge you for everything you are doing to try and help your pet. I don’t often write reviews, but after this experience and in being an advocate for my dog and others, I felt it was my duty to notify both the people I know with pets and the people out there researching where to take theirs about this experience, and to steer clear of this place!

WSAH has been our vet for over a year, but after my experience today we will not be returning. My dog is very anxious, we have known this since she was a puppy and have been doing everything we can to help her manage. During a behavior consult with WSAH last year, we had settled on medicating her on an as-needed basis, which helped. However, after a recent reactive incident on top of other persistent anxious behaviors, we decided to pursue daily anxiety medication. At the appointment, Dr. O’Brien was very judgmental and condescending. This was her first time meeting my dog and it was clear she hadn’t bothered to look at her file beforehand. I had to explain medical history and previous behavior consultations. When I began to explain the wider range of her anxious behaviors in order to demonstrate the chronic nature of my dog’s anxiety and the need for regular medication, she stopped me and told me she only wanted to focus on the singular incident. The way she spoke about my dog and her anxiety was very “one size fits all”. Her demeanor did not communicate an interest in supporting me or in getting to know my dog’s complexities. She scoffed at my explanation of trainings we have done and methods we have found success with in keeping our dog calm around her triggers. She was very pessimistic and dismissed our previous success and proceeded to tell me what I should be doing instead.Instead of feeling like Dr O’Brien was there to help me, I felt interrogated and judged. She framed everything very negatively and did not show any empathy or interest in really getting to know my dog or partner with me. This is unacceptable and I expect our next vet to treat both me and my pet with kindness and compassion.

The staff at Wealthy Animal Hospital are so warm and welcoming. They always treat my pet like she's visiting a friend's home, which helps to put her at ease. The most impressive part of or visits is the portion of our time spent with the veterinarian; we feel like the priority and the doctor never rushed from the examine room to get to another patient and always makes it seem that we are her only visitor of the day. She gives her time to us very openly until the examine is complete and I have no more questions or concerns about my dogs health. This will keep us coming back as long as we are in the greater Grand Rapids area. Thank you Wealthy Animal Hospital for making everyone, dog and person, feel welcome in your facility.

I've gone to the same vet for years. My vet was not able to get me in for an appointment on short notice, one of my cats developed an eye infection seemingly overnight. Wealthy St. Animal Hospital was recommended to me by yet another local vet office (as they too couldn't fit me in). The care and attention that they showed me and my cat was better than I have ever received from the vet that I had been going to for years. The facility is clean and modern. The staff is beyond friendly and knowledgeable. The vet was attentive, gentle, and kind to my cat. I loved them so much that I have since switched all of my animals from my previous vet to them. I definitely recommend this place.

Since I was a child we have used the same vet, over 30yrs. I have switched my pets last year. BEST VET EVER! They are so caring, so gentle and the prices are comparable to my last vet. Even a little cheaper. They took the time to remove the lid of my cat carrier so they did not have to pull her out of it. My dog was immediately taken into a room because she was young and barking in the waiting room. Very attentive to what each animal truly needs.

Our gordo always gets treated like a prince and gets spoiled every time. Love the attention and professionalism they have every visit! Love the fallow up calls to make sure we don’t have any other questions after the visit.

Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were patient and great with my very anxious cats. The vet answered all my questions and took appropriate amount of time examining them. Very happy I found them and will bring my dog and cats back. Wish going to the vet didn't cost so much money in general but pets cost money, love that they have the vaccine for life program.

My cat had really bad fleas, and she was beginnning to get scans all over her body. I brought her in worried about her and her condition, but the doctor reassured us that she just had super sensitive skin and that she seems very healthy and good :) upon arriving my cat was having a HORRIBLE panic attack and the second she got in the animal hospital she calmed way down. My girl did so good and they treated her so good. I was so worried she wouldn’t let anyone see her or touch her and she really lightened up. The people at wealthy st animal hospital did so amazing and they are so warm and welcoming!

Appointment times are true, and we feel like they always take the time and energy to explain and really provide the best quality care!

Wealthy Street Animal Hospital is a friendly, no nonsense, affordable and convenient full service veterinary clinic. I switched over from my previous vet with absolutely no regrets. My dogs enjoy going and have received excellent care, including an optimal exam for a pet who has gone blind as well as dental cleaning. An expensive treatment like cleaning was handled expertly with a rate quote and explanation. Even before & after photos!

The staff is knowledgeable and compassionate! They skillfully handled my cranky and intimidating 13 yr old cat without apprehension, and spoke to us without condescension. They wisely offered an affordable solution for treatment the morning after an emergency vet insisted – and nearly convinced us – that euthanasia was the only option. I was so happy to hear they are a sister location to the Wyoming Animal Hospital where I've had great experiences with my pets in the past. Novia is back normal again and we'll be bringing our dog in soon for his check-up. Thank you!

The veterinary staff is responsive, caring, and very knowledgeable, and they treat my pets like their own. I've been a client at two other area clinics, and the expertise, compassion and personalized treatment at Wealthy Street Animal Hospital is without comparison. Appointments run on-time, reception staff is helpful and friendly, and the doctors take time in each appointment to answer questions and be thorough. I have a very anxious, reactive dog who had been muzzled and restrained at another clinic in order to receive treatment. WSAH took the time to earn my dog's trust and was able to treat him without issue on our very first appointment.

We won’t go to either facility again after just more than a year of taking our dog here. If you DO decide to have your pet seen here, make sure to have them tell you everything they are going to do BEFORE you show up, make sure you get an itemized bill every time, and make sure to find out what your pet will need within the next 1-2 months so they don’t try to break up your appointments. They are either really bad at communication or they are really good at squeezing you for as much as they can get out of you.

I have been taking my dog to Wealthy Street Animal Hospital since she was a puppy, and I have had nothing but great experiences. Each staff member treats our dog like they were their own, and they are very calm & gentle with her when she is nervous. They are very reasonably priced, and I have never been pressured to buy extras or get extra tests, etc.Recently we had to take our dog overseas, and Amanda, Dr. Coffman and the rest of the staff went above and beyond to help us navigate the complex world of getting a dog tested and approved to travel. They squeezed me in for last minute appointments, double & triple checked that we had everything right, and totally made me comfortable that we had everything we needed - and we did! In my experience, WSAH is a trustworthy vet clinic that has your pet's best interests at heart.

Originally, I made an appointment here because I wasn't able to get into my regular vet at the last minute. After about 5min. into my appointment, I knew that my "regular vet" was a thing of the past, and I promptly had all of my dog's records faxed over. Wealthy Street Animal Hospital was the only place I was ever going to bring my pets to again!! I LOVE THEM! Everyone here is AMAZING, from the doctor to the receptionist!!They made my dog their #1 priority, even though it was late in the day (and I'm sure they were all ready to go home). This made me feel happy and comfortable being there. They were not at all like some places where the doctor is in and out of the room in less than 5min. They spent time with us so they could get to the REAL root of the problem and give a true diagnosis, rather than a guess or assumption. Their obvious knowledge of the situation and genuine love for animals is way beyond what I have experienced at other vets/clinics. They spent a significant amount of time with me and my dog, explained and answered every question I had (and then some...) in a thorough manner, and gave me a variety of options to choose from to best deal with the problem.I would 100% recommend The Wealthy Street Animal Hospital to anyone with pets! There is a side for cats and a side for dogs. Their office is very clean and inviting, and every person there is friendly, kind, gentle, and extremely knowledgeable. You will not be let down. They are the BEST!! Thank you!
