Feels like visiting family. I visit Sweetlands every time I come to Grand Rapids and no matter how long it has been the young man in the coffee shop remembers me and remembers my coffee choice. This is a lesson to all businesses, take the time to know your customers and you will never be without business. I have been given a reason other than coffee to visit this coffee shop, friendship. Thank you Sweetlands for making me feel special.

Family-owned business of over 100 years with an excellent selection of fairly priced Valentines gift boxes. Someone held the door for me on my way in, my clerk was excellent, then someone held door for me on the way out. Great experience.

Incredible candy! A wide range of selections and no matter what you chose, you can’t go wrong. The coffee is my favorite part about the whole place though. It is silky, rich, and flavorful! Would recommend the coffee and candy 10 times out of 10!!

Their coffee is amazing here and their chai tea! Many coffee shops struggle to make a good cup of tea but not Sweetlands. Plus, their gourmet chocolates are amazing and pair nicely with a cappuccino or their Turtle Latte.Dietary restrictions: They offer oat milk for their coffee options.

The staff is super helpful and always seems to be up for a challenge. I went in looking for some classroom birthday treats, and they helped my kids put together some unique treat bags. A great selection of scratch made candies along side the more typical mass-produced stuff, a great place to get some gifts.

Love that they have a drive thru and that there are seasonal unique drinks. My favorites are the Lavender Honey latte, Rose Cardamom Latte and their Pumpkin pie spiced latte. Best part is they always have oat milk in stock unlike other big chain coffee shops. Another perk is they have fantastic fresh pastries from another local business Field & Fire.

Sweetlands is one of Grand Rapids Wonder s. Has been around for as long as I have been in G.R. You want candy and nuts? How about a fresh brew of coffee? Sweetland has a large variety of the above mentioned. Their associates have always gone above and beyond. The positive energy makes Sweetland.

This time around ordered chocolates and turtles. Over the past couple years I have gotten items and been given various things as gifts by family. Every single piece of chocolate no matter the type and every nut has been exceptional in quality and taste. Everything is also a great value, even if anyone thinks it is "expensive". Have the very best for a couple dollars more---it's that good to make it an excellent value for the dollar.

Worst coffee ever! The milk tasted burnt from over frothing and than had a lid on top which I assume was for the obvious view of over frothed milk on top. If you have an indoor cafe sitting area please use reusable glassware Ive never been served a cortado in a throw away cup when ordered for in cafe. A cortado is known for the glassware it’s kept in. Not creamy and couldn’t taste the coffee at all just over frothed burnt milk. Do NOT get coffee here if your a coffee connoisseur.

Top notch candy store with very high quality ingredients. Common and high end candies. Some candy sample daily, allows you to find new favorites from their selection. They also serve drinks, ice cream and limited food. Great stop for special gift giving occasions. A true family favorite for decades.

This place has Real.Coffee. If you’re looking for an alternative to basic-coffee-chain coffee, this is the place! I tried the lavender meil seasonal coffee drink, and it was fabulously yummy—not overly sweet, the coffee flavor was soooo good (I cannot overstate this), and the lavender flavor was subtle yet delicious. AND they have a drive thru now. I’m so glad I tried this shop’s coffee, I will definitely be returning on a regular basis. Oh, and I almost forgot, their confections & chocolates are also amazing & worth the price if you’re looking to treat yourself or are looking for a nice gift for someone. (treat yo’self!)Edit: 3 years later and this place is still amazing. I don’t know what I would do without their coffee. There’s not another coffee shop nearby that even comes close to coffee/espresso drinks this good. AND they’ve added pastries (from Field & Fire bakery to the menu). The pastries are insanely delicious, just like the drinks. *Now, I will directly address Sweetland: please PLEASE don’t ever leave me. I would be a wreck without you. ***To anyone else reading this: quit going to that sh*++¥ coffee chain around the corner, and support this amazing local business so that they never leave me. My husband and I have been using sweetlands for our sweet tooth needs for years. We've always been super happy and impressed with the quality of not only the chocolate/candies etc but also the service. We usually buy their gift boxes as gifts and this Christmas was the first time we've used their shipping option. We decided to order two 1lb boxes of chocolates for our parents and grandmother in the UP. They got it the week before Christmas but they only received one 1lb box. I called Sweetlands and talked to John and he was so apologetic for the situation and was even concerned of the possibility of the family having arguments over it. He explained these things do happen on occasion but they'll look into what happened and give me a call back.I heard back from John within 2 hours and they found the mistake and offered to do whatever they could to make up for the inconvenience. I said we'd just like to have the missing box sent to our parents and he said "we can definitely do that! We will get it sent out as soon as possible!" As their stock was pretty wiped out from Christmas and needed a few days to restock 🙂 I was very impressed with the ease of taking care of the situation and how quickly it was handled. We understand things happen, especially at Christmas. Thank you for helping us out and we'll be back for some more chocolate soon!!

Their candy looks and smells amazing. I went for coffee because they serve madcap coffee. It was pretty decent, and while they use madcap beans, the quality isn’t quite there. Specifically, their “pour over” is not what you would expect. They didn’t make it when I ordered. They had pre made pour over which ended up just being drip coffee. Good coffee, but not a real pour over.

Lived in GR for 5 years, and I can tell you without a doubt this is the best place for chocolates in the area - don’t even try anywhere else!!!I moved to the East side of the state a couple years ago, and still order their chocolate boxes for my fiancé on her birthday and all the major holidays. This place is awesome. It has become a tradition in my family for my parents to me and anyone I am dating a box of candy for each holiday. They always have seasonal candies too like hearts for valentines day too so that is nice to look forward to.They have plenty of candies to suit every taste. A favorite for anyone I have purchased a box for is always the chocolate covered oreos and the chocolate covered sea salt caramels. I on the other hand really like jelly candies so I get more of those. I think there are three box sizes. Usually we get the medium size and my parents pack it pretty full. I was just here last week and got a box for my niece and one for my nephew too. I got them the smaller box and filled it up pretty well and even with my addition of a half pound of jelly bellies (they have like every flavor) the total only came to $14! I always expect my total to be about twice as much as it ends up. AWESOME.They are very patient and happily walk back and forth adding little bits to our boxes and they can even gift wrap the boxes for free. It is a pretty awesome one stop for a holiday gift or something for a person who is hard to shop for. Bosses at christmas, a friend who let's you stay with them while you visit. Dog sitters while you are out of town...really anyone :)

We have gone to Sweetlands for decades. Wonderful handmade chocolates and other more common candies such as Jelly Bellies. The free gift wrapping is so helpful too. Our favorites are the Turtles and Sea Foam. I have also shipped chocolates and they arrived quickly.

Great coffee, espresso, you can drive through for this! For nuts, chocolates or candy walk in or online ordering. They also have special candy for people that may have diabetic issues.

I always stop here to pick up some nuts for my parents after the drive from Dallas, TX. No matter what, the nuts are always perfect, just the right amount of salt. Upon last visit, we ate 1/2 of the bag of nuts before getting them in the house. Always a friendly face, quality product at a great price, will stop in when I pass through again. Thanks!!
