I’m not from the Grand Rapids area but I was in town for a work trip and found Sandy’s Donuts on google maps. I stopped in for donuts to share with everyone at work and they were a big hit. I had no clue what to get and despite being very busy the person who was helping me never rushed me and provided me the help and suggestions I asked for. I would definitely recommend. If I was in town again I would make sure to stop by again.Parking: Limited spots if they were busy but people tend to grab and go

The owners daughter helped me with my order and did a amazing job. Happy and energetic with a beautiful smile that lite the place up. I ordered my son a hot chocolate and instead of sending it out piping hot like most places would do. The owner asked me if I wanted her to cool it down for him. Which I really appreciated that. Great service and great donuts! We will definitely be coming back.

Oh my is all I can say!!! My brothers a local to the area so I asked for a recommendation and they did NOT disappoint!!! Everything was really good, the custards, the jelly, the fritters... literally everything!! Only complaint is I’ll probably skip lunch and dinner today!

The donuts here are fantastic and homemade each day. The parking is always a mess, and you often have to wait awkwardly in line. Service is always rushed.Vegetarian options: Donuts.

Sandy's donuts is a great little donut shop. The cashiers are super nice. They take orders for pick up if you need something for your office. Every time I go - it is a pleasant experience and they have exactly what I need. They also carry some GF/Vegan donuts for those with dietary restrictions. I had to take a picture of this crazy huge donut you can special order. It is $8 and I thought it was fantastic. :)

Great donut place. Used to be very mom and pop style, but now it's a lot fancier- something you'd expect in east GR. Not necessarily a bad thing, but a change. Donuts have almost stayed the same... they dont offer bear claws anymore :(However they do offer some gluten free treats which I think is commendable. Prices have risen over time but that's understandable too. I miss the days of the 25c last donuts of the day. Hoping that unsold donuts are still being donated to shelters.Regardless, if you're in town, stop by for a donut! If you're an early bird, DEFINITELY stop in while they're warm!

Sandy’s is a west side institution and we travel back there whenever we can because they have the best donuts in GR. They are always thoughtfully innovating to be sustainable and interesting for customers. They also are extremely transparent on social media and patient with people who are less than kind. The prices are super low considering the great quality, and we’d continue patronizing this place frankly even if the cost tripled. The workers are friendly and always seem to genuinely love their job.

This is the only donut shop I know of that makes the "old fashioned" or what is affectionately called the "cannonball." It's a donut that has a heavy crust that makes them crunchy. On the inside is a sweet buttermilk filling. They are made plain and also custard filled. My number 1 choice at Sandy's!

I've lived in GR for going on 60 years. This, by far, is my favorite donut shop in town. I have been to them all. There are only a few local, family owned places like this (Marges, Van's, Ida's, Royal Dutch, etc...enjoy and honor them before they're gone). Sandy's apple fritters are the best. Big, crunchy edges, super soft inside. The counter service can't be beat. Love this place.

When I was young I loved Sandy’s! They still have good donuts, but the long John’s always seem to be dry by 9am. It also bothers me just a smidge how the servers at the counter use gloves to handle the food, but when I was waiting in the long line I saw the guy in the back using his bare hands to handle the food. In addition to that, their prices went up again. 😕
