I had a small back up due to root intrusion in an exit line from my house into a city line. II had a small back up due to root intrusion in an exit line from my house into a city line. I called Roto-Rooter. The service was good, and the technician damaged his equipment so he said there was a possible line damage somewhere between my house and the street. He gave me a rough estimate and they scheduled Another appointment for their excavation and evaluation people to come four days later to do a free evaluation And submit a proposal To find out what exactly needed to be done. I was given the promise that mine would be the first scheduled appointment of the day. 9 AM was the scheduled appointment. I even got a courtesy call at 8 AM to let me know the technician would be out. 10 minutes later, I get another call from their scheduler telling me that they had scheduled another appointment at the same time and that mine would be delayed in a window of 3 to 6 hours later. So… I was happy with the initial fixing of the back up, but do you have my appointment rescheduled after I had already been told the tech was on the way seemed a bit odd. I will go through this evaluation and proposal meeting. However, I view this as just that finding mission and I know in the service industry, things do change rapidly , however it would be appreciated if when a business schedules four days in advance and calls to say a tech is on the way that that would be true. I guess I’m in a wait-and-see mode. Hopefully the evaluation is truthful and will be the first of many, and I will certainly look for another company to take my business , thank you

If I could leave a ZERO star review I would, I paid $495 to have my outside faucet replaced on my home in July of 2022 for it to last ONE SEASON then break again! I called Roto-Rooter back out today to have them take a look and the best deal they could give me is $450! I am highly disappointed with this company as THE PRODUCT THEY INSTALLED DID NOT EVEN LAST TWO SEASONS yet they will not do anything about but give me $50 off.... You would think a company this large would be able to back their products/installs.. What a waste of my time and Money! I would highly suggest if you are thinking about having work done by this company saving yourself the hassle and money by hiring another company to complete the work. I will be letting the BBB know of my experience as well.

So... expensive to snake my bathroom sink drain. 900.00! Then in the process my bathroom sink leaks. Do to removing the pea trap etc. Then trying to put it back together. Came out twice to fix, never did. Had another company come out and they found a rubber gasget that had a slice missing. So far it's good! Live and learn.

Hired them to unclog my shower drain. Drain pipe cracked and made water leak into my kitchen. They still charged the full price and when their restoration team was supposed to fix it they didn't show up. Been without my only shower for 4 days so far and out the money. The crew that has shown up has been nice just not communicating.

Roto Rooters is out for your money. Not straightforward.Even their 'free estimate' costs- but of course they don't tell you that until you've been waiting all day for them to come, and as they call to tell you the tech is coming they hit you with a $79 'traveling fee' but by then you're hooked.It's all downhill from there.

Great people, very timely, and polite. I'm still going to have to recommend calling a local plumber first, as their quoted prices are ridiculous. Over 100% upcharge from the top end google estimate for the same service, as well as from the local folks I called in right after. - $400 to reset and replace a wax ring is robbery lol

I called them to come out and unclog the drain to this little sink in my bathroom and it only took 5 minutes with a snake and they charged me 350.00. I will never call them again so they can rip me off. I could have got a new vanity for that amount.

This company does not back their products or installs, I would highly suggest if you are thinking about using this company for any services to go else where as they do not care about anything but the DOLLAR SIGNS! I WILL be contacting the BBB regarding this issue and my experience with this company!

The first time we used Roto-Rooter we had a lovely experience & they were top of our list for any plumbing issues. I tried to have them come out again to do some work that they quoted us in at our original appointment. They have no called-no showed TWO separate appointment times for this now. They give a 2 hour window so you have to wait at home & be available at any moment for them to arrive. When they never arrive - it’s pretty frustrating. Very disappointed in the scheduling. If an appointment needs to be canceled by the company or technician - the home or business owner should be contacted immediately.Additionally to note: when calling to reschedule after the No-call no-shows - the scheduling staff aren’t apologetic or anything at all. It’s very odd & off-putting.

So thankful! My bathroom sink wasn't draining, and my own attempts to clear the clog failed. I called Roto-Rooter and they got a qualified professional to me in LESS THAN 24 HOURS- and it wasn't even a bad or dangerous leak, just a minor inconvenience that they took seriously.Everyone, and I mean everyone, I interacted with was kind, professional, and knew what they were doing. Jenny got my concern out to George right away, and he called me back to set up a technician appointment not even 20 minutes later. At the appointment, Jason called ahead to share his ETA, was here promptly, and was finished in a full hour less than the planned time frame because he was so knowledgeable and proficient. He was even happy to let my dog be his helper. Jason had all the necessary tools on hand and examined the drain lines in my basement just to be sure he took the right care with my 100+ year old house. After the fix was completed, he left me with some remedies to help keep my drains clear, and a 30 day window to call back in case something goes awry in the meantime -- really don't see that happening with how thorough the job was completed, but very good to know!I know if anything like this arises again, Rotor-Rooter Plumbing will be my first and only call.Services: Plumbing, Plumbing leak repair

Dodged a bullet with this one!Called Roto Rooter and was informed—right out the gate I would have to have the lines jetted. Which is fine, with me not knowing they were starting off recommending the most expensive and intensive service out of the gate. Still, I was willing to pay to fix the problem. I waited two hours for a call back from the tech (Dillon?) after he said would call me back asap with an update. As it turns out, he couldn’t be bothered to pick up his phone when I called. When I texted him, he said his wife let him know that his phone was constantly going off (seriously? Is she your personal assistant for Roto Rooter? It’s not that hard to be professional and stick to YOUR word for a callback/update. Wasted two hours on this joke of a company.I Called Bill from Speedy Flow located here in Muskegon and his prices were fractional compared to the $995 Roto Rooter was going to charge without doing any diagnostics prior to recommending the most expensive/intensive service. In the end, I am thankful for the tech’s unprofessionalism at Roto Rooter because I dodged a bullet. I’m the kind of customer that is typically a customer for life, as I value professionalism and honest work. I know this review is running long but when you have an emergency that dwells within the home, it is all-the-more important to communicate. Roto Rooter has dropped the ball for chasing my dollar and leaving me in the dust.Last words? Call Bill from SpeedyFlow. He will not only pick up the phone and work with you, but you can tell he has a heart of gold and a passion for helping customers during times of distress. Don’t donate your money to this company.

It's an absolute pleasure to leave a great review for Jason from Roto-Rooter. I called this morning and he came out promptly today to diagnose a water leak and drain back-up in my basement, which happened only a week after moving into my new home. He was professional and courteous. He cared not only about the job, but also took extra steps to make sure my floors stayed clean during his entire time in my home and arguably left my bathroom floor in a better condition than it was when he arrived. He thoroughly educated me on the plumbing issues I had and didn't seem at all bothered by my many questions. I felt he was truly honest and totally trustworthy. The total price I paid today was very reasonable for the work he did. Technician provided detailed explanation of solution. Technician acted professionally and treated my home with respect while on site for service. Had a clogged drain on a Sunday night of a holiday weekend. Roto Rooter was able to send a technician out early Monday morning. Jason was very professional and kind. He helped move items that were blocking his work area and did not try to overcharge me by suggesting services that I did not need. Top to bottom, this company was incredible. We spoke with someone last night , Yani, who was on call for the weekend; he assessed our situation and talked us through options that might need to be explored so we had a price point going into the normal workday hours. When I called at 8am, Diana was absolutely incredible (listening to my sleep-deprived attempts to discuss the history of our home and our situation) while talking us through the next steps (being contacted by a dispatcher and having service between 2-4). Jordan called shortly before 2 and advised he could have someone here within half an hour - down to the minute, Jason arrived and was an answer to prayer. As two new first-time-homeowners, we had no idea what to do about our basement taking on water; Jason explained everything as he was doing it and made sure we were aware of price points as we went along, and explained everything to us in a way we could understand. I told him before he left, he spoke like a dad; I felt comfortable with how he engaged with us and made sure we were informed every step of the way - and was honest about temporary fixes versus long term repairs we’d need to make down the road. I cannot express our gratitude for him and the company…we still have some clean up to do from the rain in the basement, but he cleaned our floor drain like a champ (literally snaking and pulling roots out of the ground)! Called because I had a massive plumbing issue, Garrett and the team from Roto-Rooter were absolutely great. Took time to explain everything to me and did a great job. Replaced all the old pipes, took the old toilet away, installed a new toilet, and even came out to check on things over the weekend when I had a small problem. Scheduled our appointment online for Monday afternoon, the tech actually showed up earlier and we weren't able to get home on time so they said they would just send another tech later that day. The second tech showed up but didn't have the equipment to do a basic cable cleanout, so we had to wait until later that night for a third tech. We received and responded to the text message from Roto-rooter but missed the phone call from the tech and unfortunate for us, he had already moved on to the next customer. When I called him back the tech was not helpful and said there was nothing he could do to help us and had a 'I don't care' attitude. We tried calling the office but they were closed for the day. Roto-rooter never called to follow-up or reschedule. Today we called All-Flo Plumbing in the morning and they were at our house within two hours, they had great service and charged 25% less than Roto-rooter. The first few folks we talked with at Roto-rooter were nice but the third Tech caused us to take our business elsewhere.

They sent 2 workers very quickly and they were very nice and friendly. They took less than 20 min to check and replace a sump pump/check valve. This company charged me $625. A worker mentioned the value of new Zoeller sum pump is $300, (the check valve might be around $15 and tax for the parts. The parts will be under $350) Then the labor for 20 min will be $275. The receipt didn't have any information in detail. They solved the problem quickly, and I really appreciate your service. However regarding the charge, I hope Roto-Rooter can explain it here for the potential customers.After review: I got a call from the agent. She told me their price is fixed no matter what : the time consuming and there are a lot of things (ad, fuel, skilled workers so on) that set up the cost for replacement of the sum pump. They even threw in a $25 coupon just to help. The price was less than I expected and my weekend stress was gone before the weekend truly began. Our main sewer line backed up over the weekend - technicians were able to snake the drain and got things back working quickly. The technicians used a camera to show me some wear and build-up within my 50 year old cast iron pipes, and recommended a complete main sewer line replacement ($20k out of pocket, as homeowners insurance does not cover long-term deterioration of pipes).I got a second opinion today, and the new plumbers stated although the pipes show some minor build-up, a complete replacement is extreme. The new plumbers also did not even recommend descaling (cleaning of build-up) within the pipe based on the quality of my cast iron pipes. Be aware - roto-rooter will suggest extreme, costly measures just to cash in. They are not serving in the best interest of customers, and will likely take advantage of you too.

The experience was great from start to finish. Tiffany in the office called at exactly 8 am like I was told she would, got me in the earliest time slot and scheduled. Shortly after, she connected with me again to let me know she could get me earlier, great! The technician, Greg, was very kind, prompt, and accommodating. He spoke to my home warranty several times as requested and was very helpful. Quick fix and cleaned up nicely. I would definitely utilize this company again (although I hope I don't have to :) )
