This unique bakery is 100% gluten-free and vegan (making it dairy free and egg free also). It is both tasty and an amazing find for those with the above allergies that can make baked goods really hard to find. Vegans can also be sure the entire menu is safe. The menu rotates often, giving you new choices regularly, but favorites that can return. Gluten-free and vegan!!!! My cake and donut were so amazing. You can not tell the difference. I highly recommend this bakery. I can safely go inside and order sweets or bread and not have to worry about cross contamination.Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten-free

Not only are their pastries delicious, the fact that they are gluten free, dairy free and vegan is just simply amazing. A couple who hired us to photograph their wedding chose to use Rise for their wedding cake and a select grouping of gluten free treats for their friends and family. Rise did not disappoint!

Great spot! very cute, small on the inside but more seating in the back which is very helpful. Free wifi if you want to study, etc. coffee was splendid! the baked goods are DELICIOUS for being gluten free and so much more. There is an extra menu for food along with the baked goods and then they also have all the basic drinks you would find at a coffee shop. Staff was helpful and extremely friendly! expect a short wait if it’s busy.

My fiancé ordered me a 4 inch custom birthday cake in October. The staff was great and they made exactly what he asked for. The cake was a vanilla cake with buttercream frosting, and a strawberry compote in the middle. It was very tasty. We have been vegan for about 5 years and just recently found out I am celiac. They were so excited about his idea for my cake that they ended up making a bigger one to present in their window later that day. Needless to say, we got to enjoy a great tasting cake on my birthday without having to worry about allergies or dietary restrictions.Dietary restrictions: After me and my fiancé being vegan for 5 years, we recently found out I have celiac. Great place for vegans, vegetarians, gluten free, soy free, dye free, allergen friendly.

I’ve been a long time fan of Rise, especially being someone who is gluten intolerant! I haven’t had a single thing from them that I didn’t love. Their baked goods are amazing and their coffee is super good as well. We recently got married in November and we decided we wanted Rise to be our dessert choice. We chose four different mini cupcake flavors and four doughnut flavors and all of them were delicious! We even got to do a taste test prior. Our guest kept complimenting on how good they were too! *I have only tried the donuts, so this review will only apply to them* i am happy that there are donuts that I can eat without paying the consequences of, however the donuts are at best a 2.7/5. Flavor is decent, but damn are they dry. I ordered 3 “classic vanilla donuts” and was surprised to have two that had chocolate chips in them. I unfortunately can’t have chocolate, so it was really disappointing. They should definitely have them sorted better or at least improve the lighting to make it easier for the staff to differentiate which ones do and don’t have chocolate chips in them.

My partner and I went here for their birthday since they're soy-free and we're both dairy-free. We were both very excited to try their donuts. Neither of us can have chocolate, I'm allergic to it and they have a food sensitivity to it, so we purposely ordered only things that didn't have chocolate. We ordered 3 plain vanilla donuts, 3 plain vanilla donut holes, and 1 vanilla sprinkle donut.2 out of the 3 plain vanilla donuts had chocolate chips in them, which my partner found out by biting into it. 1 of the donut holes also had chocolate chips, luckily I checked before I ate it. The vanilla sprinkle donut also was actually a chocolate cake donut with vanilla icing covering it. That means we couldn't eat over half of the things we ordered due mostly to Rise's error.Rise, as somewhere that makes things allergy-friendly, should be more aware of which donuts are which. We should not have been given chocolate chip donuts when we ordered plain vanilla. The sign for the vanilla sprinkle donut should mention that it's a chocolate cake donut. I normally don't leave reviews, but we were very disappointed in the things we ordered, especially since it was my partner's birthday and they only were able to eat 1 of the 3 donuts they got.Overall, our experience as people with dietary restrictions was not good at Rise. Nobody with food allergies or sensitivities likes the feeling of biting into something they think is safe, when in reality it's not.Please, do better.

Probably one of THE best bakeries I've ever been to in the country!! Vegan, gluten freeze and soy free, are you kidding me?! I am traveling for work and will be returning every day until I leave. Today I had the strawberry cinnamon roll and it did not disappoint!! I wish I had saved it to heat up at home, but it was gone in no time. I got an everything bagel and buckeye (chocolate covered peanut butter ball) to go, and both have been delectable as well. I can't wait to try more in the next couple days. The staff was upbeat and the place definitely had rush hour waves. Happy to see others also enjoy it there!

My wife is allergic to gluten so Rise is amazing for her! They have delicious donuts, cookie sandwiches, bagels, cakes, and much more. From time to time they offer special items like elephant ears.The coffee is very good as well, but the GF food is the highlightThe picture is a breakfast sandwich I made using one of their gluten free bagels.

We ate breakfast at this incredible cafe when in town overnight for a funeral. I am so grateful that this bakery/cafe is both vegan and gluten-free. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff is attentive, and the food is DELICIOUS! The next time we are in town, we will DEFINITELY eat here.*I met one of the owners briefly. Super friendly.

I always thought “Good to the last drop” was just an advertisement for Folgers Coffee- but after visiting RISE - our family has decided that this VEGAN, GLUTEN FREE bakery & coffee shop is so much more.It’s incredible to the last drop and last crumb. We were fighting over any remaining morsels of these incredibly DELICIOUS drinks, treats & eats.My personal favorites: Carmel Fratte (Onyx Espresso Concentrate, Date Carmel, Oatmilk, Coconut Cream & Coconut Sugar).This masterpiece of cold, creamy delight was worth every slurp! You’ll be wanting more. It was truly GREAT to the last drop. Only $8.50The gluten free donuts 🍩 are so delightful, moist and super yummy. Only $3The prices are fairly reasonable- but in this time of inflation- nothing is very certain about prices.Regardless- we highly recommend trying RISE as a great way to start your day!

Holy delish! Stopped by for the first time today and I must say I'm very upset for not stopping in sooner. I work right down the road and this just may be a new to go place. The maple donut was my absolute favorite and I got a caramel latte that was absolutely amazing.

Rise made an incredible wedding cake for a wedding I was the planner for! The cake turned out beautiful and was absolutely delicious. The couple was so happy. Rise even went so far as to place dried/pressed flowers from the bride's garden on the cake. The pick up service was seamless, the staff were kind, and they were very easy to work with. I will recommend them forever! Thanks Rise

Extremely impressed with this all gluten-free and vegan café! I’ve had a gluten allergy for several years now and the Chickpea Melt and BLT were the best sandwiches I’ve had in a very long time! The donuts are also perfect and a must-try. Service was great, and everything I tried was a 10/10.

We ordered our wedding cake from Rise Authentic Baking Co., and it was delicious! We chose a 6" blueberry cake with lemon lavender frosting (no filling) with an imperfect "naked" look. We were so grateful that they offer delivery and floral placement so we didn't have to stress about those details on our special day! We also ordered Magic Cookie Bites and Buckeyes for our gluten free and vegan guests and heard countless positive remarks on how incredible they were! Driving all the way from Chicago to trial a few bakeries for wedding cake tasting in GR, I arrived at Rise Saturday at 3pm (after calling a few times earlier in the day with no response) and found they were closed to set up for a “private event” even though they close at 4pm Saturdays. I knocked on the door since I saw about 4+ women working, one of the girls was reluctant to open but when she did and I asked her if/how I can do trial wedding cake tasting and if I could just grab the cupcakes and go- she refused me even after I told her this was the only day I’d be in town. I saw a bunch of cupcakes on display so I felt this was handled very poorly as other bakeries in the areas were more than open to staying open late for me to pickup cakes for trial. Just on this disservice alone I would never recommend this place let alone hire them for my wedding.

As a celiac, I have to say this place feels like a safe haven. There wasn’t a single thing I needed to see if it was gluten free or if it would get cross contaminated when being cooked. Rise Authentic Baking is dedicated gluten free and everything on their menu was far from basic. We got a cookies and cream donut, apple fritter, and blueberry cobbler bar but that doesn’t even scratch the surface of the options. Love this place so much and I’m so glad I stopped by while I was in Grand Rapids!
