Stopped on Monday at 9pm. Cashier kept leaving waiting customers in his lane to answer questions on the phone. Customers in front of you, should take priority over a phone call. Also leaving a cash register unattended not the brightest idea. Usually don’t have an issue at this location.

This location really could use a bit of a makeover. The parking lot is squished and awful due to a terrible layout of the buildings around it. Staff is always nice, things are usually stocked well, and it’s clean. Nothing really to cheer or jeer about.

Sorry but have to bring this up,not sure if anyone has noticed. I have been coming to this family fare for 16 years,since living in this area. And I am not a racist person,but all their employees are white,except one Hispanic female. In 16 years never have I seen a black employee or minority,other then this Hispanic woman. What's wrong with this picture,....

Favorite grocery store in NE GR. Always clean, organized and awesome service team and great pharmacy team. So grateful they were doing covid vaccines too! We just got it done!Always a regular stop for me. I appreciate how low key it is. I don't like giant stores.

It is 8:45pm and I just left the Leonard store location. This young light skinned girl with a top bun and glasses and kind of chubby. She was working at the self checkout as well. Disrespectful and flat out rude...I asked her, I thought the strawberries were 2/$5 as well as the blueberries. She said you only got one as she walked off to get advertisement she said something else. I went to go check the tag to see if I was wrong or not. Which I was and was going to happily pay the price. When I walked back, she said I gave you the 2/$5 on both of them your welcome. As she said so smug and attitude like. I told her I didn't appreciate her attitude, she said your welcome. I said, if you didn't want to do your job, you could've stayed at home. I don't understand why these kids thing it's a privilege for them to come to work. Some how they got things twisted. Never will I return...

Came in on the 4th of July looking to buy one of the packages of fireworks to light off with friends. I found the specific one I was looking for and went to check out. However when I was checking out with them, I was denied due to my age. The legal age to purchase fireworks in the state of Michigan is 18. I am 19 years old, and proved it with a valid drivers license. I even bought fireworks the previous 4th of July and had no issue. The checkout lady claimed that it was spartannash policy that they couIdn't sell fireworks to anyone under the age of 21. I went out to my car and called one of my friends who is a manager at another spartannash store and said they hadn't heard of any policy like this. I went back in to speak to a supervisor and even though I showed him and explained the law to him but he didn't care and wasn't friendly. I drove around for another hour looking for that same type of firework but had no luck. I ended up settling for a smaller package of them at Meijer and when I went to check out, I had no issues! Because 18 is the legal age to buy fireworks. This store discriminates based on age and I'm still upset about several hours later. It really ruined part of my holiday and I'm not planning on returning to this store anytime soon. I made sure to spread the word around the internet so none of my friends or family shop here either.

I want to give a huge thank you & 5 stars to Sue(Deli)! She is an AWESOME employee, she went above and beyond to help me with some items I couldn’t find in the store! Not only did she know exactly where they were, but she came to check on me again to make sure I found them! Thank you again Sue! I hope your team really values you as an employee, because I very much did as your customer! :)))!!!

This was our first time here. The staff was very welcoming. Giving us time to look over the menu but didn't leave us too long:) The pork tamales were great. All the sauces were tasty. It's a down to earth place with homemade Mexican food.

The deli staff were a tremendous help in providing a COVID friendly sandwich platter (individually wrapped) so we could carry out a mission of safely feeding some less fortunate community members. We're so grateful and impressed with this staff, especially after being shot down by another business.

Great customer service! Sometimes feels they are running short staffed, and I feel badly, but they do a great job. It’s perfect for when I need a quick trip! Sad they stopped stocking Orgain protein powder though:(

First time ever to this place. is a great shopping experience very clean well taken care of store and even during the crisis very well-stocked.what made this place the best was the second shift cashier Lavell. He was very friendly and easy to deal with. Deserves the biggest raise they can give him.

I go here almost every day on my way home from work. Mostly bc of convince but the employees who work here are amazing they are kind and helpful and always have a smile on their faces. I highly recommend it. Plus the prices are not bad at all.

Love yer store! Kinda pricey, but worth it not to have to deal with Meijers madhouse and unhappy rude employees! Your employees are great and no matter how busy you are I never seem to have to wait long. Great job! Keep it up.

This is a medium sized Family Fare. They tend to carry what locals prefer, and this one is Middle America all the way. So not a huge variety of "foreign" foodsThe store is clean (the bottle return amazingly so) and the staff courteous. We picked several bakery and deli items and were pleased. The white chocolate raspberry scones are wonderful. We had a short shopping list and yet walked out with 4 bags of food.The gas discount coupon (15 cent a gallon this time) was a bonus. They do not have a gas station, so we will redeem it at Family Fare at Leonard and Fuller, which carries wonderful Mexican pastries.

I don’t write many reviews let alone bad reviews, but I had to write how infuriating this store is.Every time I have stopped in for something quick, there’s only ever one cashier open, a line about 5-10 people deep, and 0 self scan lanes. I just drove miles out of my way to avoid this place.I won’t be going back.

From vegetables to fruits to fresh looking meats, this perfect size grocery store has just about everything you may need and want. Just as the name suggests, the atmosphere has a homey, family feel to it. Even the other customers are friendly and says hello or good morning when you pass by. They also have a cozy bakery area. I purchased a chocolate frosted cake donut, which was delicious; the frosting actually tasted like chocolate and not just of sugar.

Extremely friendly staff! I walked in on a time crunch and I needed to know where things were, an employee walked me around to pick up everything I needed. They truly went above and beyond. Also they were giving away free samples of beer, which always helps.

Been going here for quite a while. Very friendly staff. Everything you need food wise with fewer brand variations compared to larger grocery stores. The checkout line easily get backed up which may be because they have yet to implement any self checkout lanes yet at this store. Seems behind the times.

This never happens. But, it did tonight! NO CARTS. The person in charge didn't seem to care. She didn't respond when I said, "there's no carts." I asked if someone called in sick. Again, no response. When I finally said..."that's OK, I'll carry my own cans." THEN and only then did she call across to Corey (or ?)..."we need carts." Did she get some bad news? ...a pay cut? I had to wait at the counter while she locked up the liquor. No apology for having to return the free item and rescan it because I got charged. Yes, I used my yes card. Yes, I clipped the coupon on Wed. That never happens either. But, it did. Granted, it was HOT. ALL the little carts were out in the parking lot. 5-6 large carts were all that remained inside the building. A very strange day at Family Fare.
