Love this pet store! Ended up being where I adopted one of my ferrets - little Juniper aka Juni :) Before I had even brought her home, the workers at Chow Hound were already feeding her a super high-quality, freeze-dried raw food (Orijen brand), had her nails trimmed so nicely, and she smelled like she just had a bath! It’s not easy to keep ferrets both healthy and clean, but they took great care of her, which makes me so happy that they are also promoting good pet care standards for their customers to follow as well (so many pet stores don’t). Brooke was the store associate who helped me and she was wonderful! She went above and beyond, even letting me use the store bathroom as a space to introduce my 2 ferrets to this new one. I just had a surgery and she put my ice pack in the freezer for me while checking out! The best lol. The workers are always really friendly here and I love all the raw feeding options they carry. Only complaint, I wish they regularly sold reptile feeders like superworms and dubias

Worst customer service I have received on my very first visit here. Unfriendly, and rude. The manager refused to match online sales right away. Even though they advertise that they DO price match any competitors. Doesn't make much sense. You guys should go to the ChowHound on east beltline Knapp corner (they are way better and more kind and willing to price match right away without any hesitations!)

On April 4, 2023, I was chosen to be a pup’s new human. I was told that he was a runner and a chewer, so we went to Chow Hound to get a slip proof harness and a metal leash. While in the store, I thought the pup was secure, but he slipped away and made a dash toward the automatic doors, which opened as he approached. I’ve been telling people that I dove like a chubby superhero for his leash. When I landed, the leash was gripped in my non dominant hand, the doors were opening and closing on my head, and my ankle was broken in three places. A HUGE shout out to the dark haired male clerk and the light brown haired female manager. (WHO ARE YOU? I’d love to thank you in person!). They made sure I was as comfortable as possible, called 911, and I remember the manager cradling my pup near the counter. I didn’t notice, but my friend that came to get the pup said he peed on the manager, and she was calm and accepting of my pup’s stress. Thank you, both, for all of your help. You helped me to remain calm because I knew my pup was safe. Those of you who have worked or shopped at the store will recognize both the pup AND my cat from the photo. The cat is 5 years old and walks on a leash. She has been coming into the store since she was a seven week old kitten, and I’ve brought the pup in at least six times to get food, toys, treats and a cooling pad. You guys are awesome! I must say, my favorite girl for all inquires for my 7 animals, 4 cats , 3 dogs, 'BROOK' at NORTHLAND Dr location. She is always way over the top to help me with all my needs! Great personality, and so so helpful ! I'm so glad she's still at this location and she seems so happy working here !

The employees at chow hound are wonderful! They're always willing to help, or find someone that can. I also love their 60 day guarantee! If a dog chews up what you bought them within 60 days, they'll take care of you. And their prices for things are less then the local grocery store.

So far I have had no problems with this place. I mainly come here to groom my Husky and Golden and their grooming stations are immaculate. Not only do they provide towels and shampoo but they provide an apron for the owners. The supply section is a little small when it comes to product selection but the staff is always willing to provide alternatives to suite your needs.

They were out of the dog food I wanted on a Saturday.Greg was very helpful and took my info. He followed up later in the week when he got more in, called me to let me know he was back in stock and even transferred an additional bag from another store.I very much appreciate Greg following through. Integrity is a lost quality in many places these days. Not with Greg!

We have been customers for 18 years. The staff is always helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. The store is always clean and organized. The only thing that I would change would be to bring back the toys and squeaker refills for small dogs that you stopped carrying a little over a year ago. It forces me to shop your competitors even though they are farther away, because my furry babies love toys and need replacement squeakers all the time.

Great place to get everything we need, plus a bath! Chow Hound has a great variety of supplies, food, treats, and toys. Plus we love that we can take our dog there for a bath when she has been on a muddy walk so that we don’t have to get the house dirty. They provide all of the bath supplies too, so it makes it very convenient. Staff has always been very helpful and we will continue to come back time and time again.

Super helpful people and they took way more time than expected helping me find a certain veterinarian recommended food for our cat. I would definitely recommend and thier prices were very reasonable even during price hikes everywhere

Attempted to take my brat dog for a bath there. Ugh. She is obnoxiously dog aggressive. I tried. It was just a busy day. The staff is great! They are kind and loving to animals (even Diva's who think they need to eat other dogs). The store is clean and well kept as well!

This location does a nice job hiring people who are knowledgeable about most animals. I find that really helpful. There is also a very good assortment of dog toys, more than any other pet store I've visited.The only bummer about this location is that since it's a smaller store, items you see online are hit or miss. Call beforehand you assume you can just grab it in the store.

Stopped in to bathe one of the rescue kids on her way to her forever home. Love having a local pet store that has the self wash area a available to use. They supply all of the shampoo, conditioners, ear cleaners with supplies and towels and reasonable prices are based on size of the dog.

Truthfully, just about the only reason I go to any pet store anymore is if I run out of dog food before my next bag is delivered as well as to give my dog a bath. Chow Hound is the only pet store that I'm aware of near me that has both self-wash baths as well as the food I get my boy (Fromm). For this, I LOVE Chow Hound. I am taking one star off from this location, however, because I don't like how this location has their dog bath stations. I much prefer the privacy of the individual dog bath rooms that I've experienced in the other locations.
