The Book Cellar is truly the best indie bookstore I've found! The store is clean and organized, their books are carefully curated by friendly and welcoming book lovers, and Tank greeted us as soon as we walking in the door! Your local bookstores are so important, and this shop is definitely a small town gem! I cannot recommend them enough!

Always feel welcome and the owner is very friendly. He remembers his customers. The book selection is immaculate. One of the best used bookstores I've ever been to. Also, the owner will bring his well behaved dogs in from time to time and the customers absolutely love them. I will always use this bookstore for as long as I'm in the area.

My wife and I stopped in today for the first time. The owner and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They have a great selection of all genres. I even found a couple new books that I have not seen anywhere else. Mike was extremely knowledgeable and gave me some good recommendations. It was nice to chat with him. If they don’t have it they will try and find it for you. Im so happy I stumbled upon this gem. I found my new go to book seller. Prices were extremely reasonable as well.

First time in today, and I am impressed. Best new and used book store I’ve seen anywhere in west Michigan so far. Mike and Beth were so friendly and helpful, and my wife and I left with way too many books. I have a hard time finding variety in horror books, and they had many more than just King. I found Monster by Frank Peretti, a book I’ve been looking for for ages. So happy we stumbled upon this place, and I will definitely be back!

Great shop! I purchased for myself and my kids. Helpful and friendly owner. And let’s face it, nowadays that isn’t a given when you’re shopping.I don’t know a lot about used books beyond what I’ve bought at Goodwill, but to me the books seemed well priced. Also- lots and lots of books 🙌🏻 but well organized.You can browse without being disturbed or ask for help to find what you need. I hope to come back many more times and will spread the word about this gem of a shop in downtown Grand Haven🙂

Boyfriend and I splurged and bought soooo many books. The employee that helped us was on point. He knew exactly where to go for every request we had. Showed us where our favorite authors books were and also helped recommend some new ones that he already read. They're very organized. Clean. Definitely helpful and also have great prices and a very large selection of books to choose from. I definitely recommend this book store and also we plan on returning in the near future and Aldo plan on bringing his mom as she too is an avid book fan!

This is one of my favorite used bookstores I have ever been too. The owner is probably the friendliest man to walk this earth. The book selection is always vast and you are always able to find a handful of things to take home. Also, the pups are so sweet and chill. Highly recommend you add this store to your bookstore visit schedule!

I have been to my fair share of used book stores and am a habitual online book thrifter. This has to be the best used book store I’ve ever had the pleasure of wandering, bar none. Staff is welcoming and helpful, the shelves are well organized, and their prices are so good I had to restrain myself from buying more books than I could fit in my luggage. What a gem!

Another year around the sun passes. Each June for vacation, I eagerly await to visit and palaver with Mike, who’s Stephen King knowledge and fandom is unmatchable. I’ve spun off on too many adventures with so many great authors due to his awesome recommendations. Not only that, but his collection of signed and first editions from all popular fiction writers is out of this world! There’s nothing more I look forward to in Michigan than spending several days at the Book Cellar collecting the rarest books I love. Till’ next year sir!

As a history teacher, I have always found it important to find a good used book shop. The Book Cellar has been wonderful, not just for their ever changing selection of nonfiction titles, but also for their generosity. When I purchase books for my classroom, Mike has often given me a much appreciated discount. This teacher's budget is small, but it goes a long way at this shop! It's always cool when local businesses so readily support the schools/kids of our community!

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon with my family. The store owner went above and beyond to help my dad and sister find books they were looking for. And of course Brady was so loving to us. What a great addition to the store- and amazing customer service. It’s too bad my family and I aren’t from grand haven or this would be a usual shopping spot for us.
