First time coming here, The peanut butter malt was great and the orange slushie was great as well, fries where made hot to order. Nice golden brown not over or under cooked. Cant wait to try some of other foods here! Thanks everyone!

A great place to get ice cream! They have food too (eg hot dogs, burgers, brats). Lots of hand-dipped flavors as well as soft serve. Including no-sugar-added options. With very reasonable prices.Be prepared for enormous, generous portions! My 'medium' was basically four scoops. So I could have 2 scoops of two different flavors on my cone!She said the seaside caramel was a little soft so offered me a cup and long spoon, in case I wanted to eat it more slowly vs rushing to beat the sun from melting it. What a thoughtful option. Very friendly.And beautiful, green, park-like setting with lots of picnic tables and shade so we could enjoy it right there.

The sign says they do hand dipped milkshakes, but when you ask for one they act like they can maybe do it and then say that it's going to take a really long time. Really seemed like they just didn't want to make it. Said waiting was fine and then with some attitude I got a liquid milk drink.... My friend got the same. The staff was slow and inexperienced, not very busy with a long wait, and mackinaw Island prices.

Beautiful place, plentiful seating (and parking). On busy summer evenings the lines can get long, but their staff is always ready to meet demand with their quick, friendly service! They offer many food options and sweet treats galore!!

Awesome stop for ice cream and/or food. They have several sitting areas. Reasonable prices & good portions. I would definitely recommend. Drive thru is even available.

Great place to get ice cream on a warm summer day. I love the friendly staff and the atmosphere. I really love the music playing by a small band which helps the relaxation of enjoying my ice cream and socializing. Rhank you Charley's fir great times.

This place is for sure the BEST place for ice cream in the area. Even if the line is long, it moves pretty quick so don't let that stop you. It's worth a little wait.

Saw another review that said their prices were reasonable. Anything but. They have Mackinac Island prices. Yes they're small is rather large but what if you want to spend a small amount of money and get small amounts of ice cream. It's kind of weird you spend the money for a large and get a large but you and the cashier both call it a small. There was like one kid who probably worked there the prior year and a bunch of other kids who had no idea what was going on.

Oh my goodness, the ice cream here was absolutely amazing but the closers were even better!! I had ordered a banana split, asking for it to be made smaller because i always end up wasting the rest and the worker that had made my banana split made it the perfect size and even double checked to make sure it was the right amount! I had also watched a couple come by right after the windows were shut and one of the workers had sweetly offered them some ice cream just a few minutes after closing. Charley’s has amazing workers, so kind and generous, will be coming back very soon! :D

We are obsessed with this ice cream place. My wallet and waist don't love this place, but we do. They have the best ice cream and generous portion sizes. We are here typically 2-3 times a week. 😲🍦Update: we tried some of their dinner options, and they were good too. We ate it so fast we forgot to take pictures

I love visiting local ice cream shops in the summer. I am sad that I had not stopped here sooner after passing by it multiple times.Wow! Charleys did not disappoint! Their ice cream seems much fresher than most. The gold mine sundae was unique and delicious! The cookie dough was also different and delicious; it was more like eating real cookie dough vs the little pieces. Their portions are gracious. My husband and I both got small flurries that were more like a medium at most other ice cream places.The overall building and grounds are well kept, bright, and refreshing!I cannot wait to come back here and unfortunately I am going to have a hard time passing by and not stopping from now on.

Be prepared to bring appetite! A small ice cream is more like a medium at most other places! They do have baby sizes for those who have smaller appetites! Their selection of flavors is rather large, and they have a decent sized menu for a quick bite to eat as well! The staff here goes above the call of duty to keep customers happy as well so please don't forget to tip!!!

Great ice cream, really like the colors of the building and the upkeep of the dog trail in back. The drive thru is such a great addition as well. Their food is pretty good too. Very friendly and fast service!

Discovered Charley's last year and had a great experience. Was up on Rainbow Lake again this year and had to stop by to get ice cream. The sister's had a band playing for all of the people there that were waiting to get their treats. They are extremely personable and I look forward to going there whenever I am in the area. I will be stopping there this Sunday on my way home. It is quickly becoming a tradition for my wife and I to enjoy a treat on the way home. Great job ladies!!!

It is always worth the ride to Charlie's for some ice cream. You won't be amazed at the size of the ice cream cones you get here. My wife orders a Baby Cone because otherwise it's just too much ice cream! You certainly get your money's worth. In recent years it has changed ownership and they've done many smart things. Larger area of seating and a good design for drive-thru. The sandwiches are good and the fries are great. I don't know what else you would want on a sunny afternoon ride to get some ice cream.

The ice cream here is huge for the price! The flavors and quality is also really good. They have a large selection of dinner style food that meets the same quality as the rest. Lots of covered seating for the kids to avoid the hot sun but no playground or other attraction. A bit far out but worth the drive.

This is a great place for a casual outdoor meal. They are set up with large picnic tables outside that are separated at least 6 feet apart. The staff wore masks as well. I felt very safe eating here. The food was excellent and service was great. They have burgers, fries and shrimp/ chicken baskets. There is a large variety of ice cream and drinks. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

The ice cream is amazing. But the servings,are huge. Go with a smaller size than you think you will want.It's also fun to go when someone is performing. My kiddos usually dance and have a good time.It's a wonderful combination of local families enjoying their favorite spot to tourists enjoying the lake and some ice cream!!

My cashier Owen was GREAT very friendly and courteous with a good sense of humor. Then when we slid down to pick up our order Aliah was the one who made the delicious treats and have them to us. She kept a brilliant smile and calm demeanor despite the fact that it was very busy and hot that day. You have 2 GREAT EMPLOYEES there!!!!

The new owner is doing it right! And now you have the opportunity to use a credit card if you like. Cleaner and better than ever now!!!Best ice cream in the area soft serve lemon is the bomb. You can't beat the prices for the portion I look forward every year to when they open my personal favorite in the whole areaNew for this year they have a drive through and its great as well!!!!!

I have to say very disappointed in Charlie's definitely not the Charlie's I remember from my childhood the 12 oz flurry which costs a $1.03 more than it did last year lid does not fit on the cups so it is getting all over the place and the slushy isn't even filled to the top. and the shake is more milk then anything else so I would not recommend wasting your money on this place. The only thing I can say is there staff is very nice.

This place is more dangerous than the bottom of the ocean. Best ice cream ive ever had in my life. Need to workout more to be able to eat here.
