We spent a couple of absolutely lovely afternoons on their patio over Memorial Day weekend. Great selection of local beers (and the beer is COLD!) Staff was friendly and attentive. GREAT outdoor space with plenty of shade. Not sure why everyone is complaining about their food. It’s just bar food and it’s exactly what I’d expect. We got some curds and the boneless wings and the Jamaican jerk sauce was really AMAZING. I’m a food snob from Chicago and I definitely think this place deserves better than 3.9 stars... we’d definitely come back!

Boonedocks has a great patio area with live music. Even though the patio was full, we were seated in a nice shaded area. The environment easily made it a great dining experience. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. I wasn't upset but wasn't impressed either. The chicken could've used some seasoning along with the cheese actually being melted. Perhaps even toast the bun. Our waitress was clearly overwhelmed and spread too thin, which led to us only seeing her 3 times in total. So we weren't offered refills or checked on after our food was delivered. My wife ordered the cod basket and was happy with her order. Overall, I would return and probably order something else.

Awesome food we had the Cajun black and blue burger and a Reuben and they were both very good. The atmosphere is very cool with outdoor dining. The put the condiments on the table and also the plastic table ware and plenty of paper towels so you do not have to keep asking for things. Very smart. If they wanted to make more money they would stop bringing out water as default since most people will order soft drinks if you just ask what they would like

Atmosphere: 5/5 The restaurant is a cool little village with a nice outdoor patio. Pretty cool experience, but the food didn’t meet expectations.Food: 3/5 ordered the franks hot chicken sandwich. The chicken was a little dry and didn’t have too much of a franks hot sauce taste. There wasn’t any sauce on the sandwich which contributed to the dryness. Would recommend requesting some sort of sauce on it to bring it all together. The chicken only filled half of the bun, making it a bready sandwich. The biggest disappointment in my opinion was ordering this $17 sandwich and receiving a little bag of chips that would come with a fast food sandwich. Come on, put some effort in it and make your own chips. At a minimum, unbag these chips and put it on the tray as if you made these. Heat them up a little prior to serving to give them a fresh taste. Disappointed overall.Service: 4/5 waitress met expectations and checked in on us regularly.

Great food. Great service in a very busy town. I love perch so I tried their perch sandwich...had to take the bread off half way thru and just eat the fish because it was so much! Great restaurant can't wait to try their burger.

We waited well over an hour for a table, understandable since it was a holiday weekend. Our server check on us twice.... Just twice. The food is pretty overpriced for what you get. We got burgers... Nothing special. Make sure you tell them you want it cooked well otherwise be prepared for a berg pink burger. We weren't impressed at all.

Very nice place. Clean bar and very clean restrooms. Quick friendly service. My only concern is the prices.....veey very high. Tourist place but in the off season they should lower the price. Main deck was closed for the year. 8 tables for dinner on the patio. Customers seem nice and friendly as well. Limited seating at the bar as well

The atmosphere is great! The bar was excellent and we had good service. The food is way over priced and mediocre at best. The burgers are frozen patties for $17, and $4 more if you want fries, the menu claims they are fire grilled amazing, but that is definitely not the case. All food is served on throw away plates and you use plastic silverware.

Great atmosphere and a great location. Service was fine, but drink refills weren't particularly swift. While there is ubiquitous signage indicating that checks will not be split for any reason, there is nothing stating that gratuities will be added to parties of eight or larger. Again, this policy wouldn't stop us from coming back, but just wish it had been conveyed somewhere prior to receiving the bill. Overall, it's an ideal place to grab a bite to eat and just relax.Parking: Plenty of parking in the attached lotKid-friendliness: This is a great place to dine with kids.

Good burgers, casual atmosphere, cold beer and cheery staff. They have a massive outdoor seating area and outdoor bar.

Five stars for food and waitress customer service. We had a waitress in training and she did awesome. Always checking on our table making sure things were good. Food was delicious!Be cautioned, they have an interesting seating arrangement outside for 5-6 people and weren’t the friendliest (assuming the manager who didn’t have ANY good customer service or empathy to our request - possibly the same one referred to in several other reviews) about accommodations to our request for two tables to be put together when we had 6 adults plus a high chair. Still giving a 5 star because aside from that, everything else was great!

Great food, very friendly servers. They were extremely busy and there was a long wait for tables, however, the staff never seemed stressed out and were incredibly nice to us. Fresh food, good selection of draft beer, and old-school local vibe made this a great choice for lunch. Highly recommend to anyone passing through Glen Arbor!

My family and I have been vacationing to Glen Arbor for over a decade now. We love the area and the friendliness of the community and are always bringing family and friends with us to enjoy this little slice of heaven. This past weekend though we experienced the worst experience at Boondocks with a group of family and friends, some new to the area. Generally we enjoy eating here. We have never had any issues in the past and the food has always been good. We have even visited with a few families but nothing too big. Our night began with a kind young man who took our drink order. We attempted to tell him who would be on which bill and he stated that they do not split bills for parties of more than 6 people. We were a bit shocked as that has never been the experience at any restaurant we have ever visited. We asked if he could speak to his manager about it, thinking maybe there was just a misunderstanding. The waiter returned and said the best they could do was split our bill three ways. We had three families ranging from 3-5 people per family, one of which was as an infant, so that seemed even odder. We then asked to speak to the manager as the whole scenario just seemed strange. The manager came out to our table and said that it is too difficult for the younger staff to understand how to split a large groups bill, and that their system does not allow them to do that. He claimed all other restaurants do the same thing. Still never having experienced this and just having our bill split in the same town earlier that day, just as a common sense question I asked, what do you do when there is a large party that cannot afford to foot the bill for everyone? The manager arrogantly responded that if I can afford to vacation in Glenn Arbor, then I can afford to pay for everyone’s bill! I was in total shock at the arrogance of his comment. Not that it is his business but I think I can speak for multiple people when I say that generally you only budget for your own vacation not other family’s vacations. As we were all flabbergasted by his comment, the manager began taking offense to where my Husband was standing, the table he approached. This was the last straw for us. Two of the three families decided to leave. My brother and his family stayed, their kids were hungry, but then told us after we respectfully paid and left that the police did some rounds and another unit stayed and watched the deck area while he sat with his young children and ate dinner. It was a terrible experience. We were not being rude, but just simply trying to understand why it was so difficult. We would have kindly split our group to eat at different tables but once the condescending remark was made by the manager and then his quick approach of claiming we were threatening him, we were done. No business that treats their customers like that, deserves our money and we will never return to this establishment. Such a disappointment.

Fun place, good food, friendly staff. The staff did well to manage the COVID19 environment sending a text to you when your table is ready.we had the soup of the day, some kind of cheese burger soup/chowder. Boy, did that hit the spot on a cool rainy Fall day and the veggie burger. The veggie burger is the best veggie burger I have ever had. Not your average mushy veggie burger. Hand made daily, crispy on the outside. Wish I had the recipe.

This is a Glen Arbor Favorite! They were very busy. We had 11 in our party. We sat outside in the nice weather. The serving staff was friendly and efficient. There was a nice selection of food. Being a die hard tourist, I had the local Fish Sandwich that couldn't be beat! It was great to be back to our old stomping grounds, from 50 yrs ago. The area has really changed with the National Park there now.Pierce Stocking Dr was very beautiful. It's worth taking a look.Parking: With so many people shopping nearby, parking was hard to come by but doable. Very heavy tourist area.

Cool looking place and atmosphere with a lot of potential and sure is great at times. But, I will never go back or personally give them a cent of my money the way we were treated by a manager and hostess. There were seven of us including a toddler who visited and upon arriving we asked for a larger table and better seating option, mind you the place at the time was not busy, but we were told that “we aren’t going combine two tables for you, this is what we have”. It was a small picnic table and we were given extra chairs to sit around it. The manager got aggressive and calling me ridiculous and getting in my face saying “this isn’t that place, you don’t want to go there” as if he was ready to fight. He and the hostess kept talking and pushing the situation disrespectfully as if they wanted a fight or reason to kick us out. Never have had this experience at a restaurant in my life and for a local small town it is disgusting. Also, 20 minutes later another larger family comes in with the same issue of “needing” to sit at two tables separately (which I was willing to do but was also told no we did not need two tables) but that family pulled table’s together themselves to all sit together, eventually the manager and host let it be. Funny how it could be done and sure it is done often but arrogance of managers can take over apparently. Definitely a manager pride over customer based company.

Not the quality of food or service I remember from previous visits. Service was super slow and waitress was split between indoor and outdoor seating. She was trying her best but unfair she was in that predicament. Food was cold and chicken on Cesar salad was partially raw. Food came on a plastic plate with plastic silverware. Dressing came in a packet. Unacceptable. Don’t waste your money or time. Also it appears management/ownership is not reading or responding to reviews which is never a great sign.

The bar is amazing for a beautiful day. I could spend the a whole afternoon at this place. It's like a beach side bar, but sadly no beach. The staff is great 👍 👌The food is hit or miss, and not like, the salads are good but the sandwiches are not great. It's more like, that sandwich was really good but the fries were soggy, then you come back a week later the sandwich sucks and the fries are perfect. Idk. Just my experience
