I love this great little store. We stop here on the way to our summer place and buy snacks, beer, ice cream, etc. The staff is fantastic and they really go the extra mile to curate a nice assortment of groceries and beer, many sourced locally/regionally. Stop in!

This store has everything needed in case if you forget or run out of something. Super convenient considering its location and proximity to Nordhouse Dunes.

We stopped in for ice cream, which is in a small case to the left when you enter. It's not a large place, but it looked like it was packed with stuff that could be useful if you're looking for a quick stop to pick up supplies on a camping trip. They have a little covered area with benches right outside where you can sit and eat your ice cream or other goodies, and stay out of the weather, too.

This is a very fine establishment and has a very nice, friendly staff. If I lived here I'd apply here for a job. I am camping in the National Forest near the Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness and stop here for ice, a shower and coffee. Shower is very clean, the ice price is reasonable for being in a more remote location and the coffee is cheap. They have just about anything you need and even have a dog park. Not sure why anyone would need a dog park with the forest and trails nearby. The bathroom is also very clean. They have a nice covered area with tables if you you want to relax and have a snack and hang out with the Fat Cat the store feline. Wish they had a better craft beer selection. They have some liquor too. They stock some tortilla chips, forget the name, that are awesome and made locally in Ludington. Open from 9 to 10 everyday for summer

I was backpacking in the Nordhouse Dunes wilderness and stopped here on my way back to civilization. The proximity to the trails is great for people who want to experience the wilderness but also have a freshly-packed cooler of food and drinks. There is a nice cat that lives here!

Great, clean shop! Stopped for a bite on the way out of the dunes. We had yummy pulled pork sandwiches (for a shockingly low price) and loved the dog run they had for our pooches to run around in.

So if you go camping you know a little about prices and inflation. This shouldn't turn you away, its staffed by some of the most friendly people ever, they have what every camper would need and a fair alcohol selection as well. I always stop there at least 2x when I'm out that way.

I like the place when they're open, but I'd surely appreciate if they would update their hours online to specify that they are not in fact open from October thru May. It was deceiving on my very recent trip to Nordhouse dunes, and significantly affected how I prepared/planned out the trip. Otherwise I have nothing bad to say about the store.

The two guys working there were very nice! They even gave my girlfriend and I some ice cream on the house and some great tips on stuff to see around the area! Highly recommended.

We tent camped nearby in the forest and this place has RV sanitation dumping, potable and non-potable water faucets, showers for $8 per person, Pizza and ice cream cones and of course beer wine and liquor. What else could a camper possibly need!

Super friendly staff just great vibes from the people working there. They have hot showers which are amazing if you're coming back from hiking which are set at a reasonable and affordable price.

The gentlemen that worked the counter in the am was very pleasant. He helped me with food and drink as well as charging my phone when it died. I recommend Upper Gambling Grocery Store to anyone that is in the area.

Had my grandkids with me during covid. Everyone masked and friendly. Ice cream was excellent. Went back to the campsite with happy kids! The cat is looking for you to pet him!

Such a nice store. The man let us borrow his beach umbrella for the day, after we forgot ours and it is necessary with little kids. Not many people from big cities would do that.

This store has everything you would need about 5 Mike's from the trailhead. I have been backpacking at nordhouse dunes 3 times now, from Louisville, KY and stopped here every time. Friendly staff, pre-hike food and snacks, gear, etc.
