Been in here a couple times looking for books. Had questions about how to find stuff my first time. Guy working had no issues showing me where to look and found the stuff I was looking for to show me where to look. Once you learn how he has everything filed it is super easy to find things. Has had what I am looking for with good prices. I am not quite sure what some of these reviews are complaining about. I have had exactly 0 issues here.

It is open when most comic stores are closed. The staff will help you if needed.Organization is not the stores strong suit. Quite often, the back issues are difficult to get to. Tables in the way, piles of books stacked on boxes and other merchandise. In the stores defense, they have a ton of merchandise, so I'm sure keeping it all sorted and managed probably contributes to the general disarray. The store also doesn't seem to mind if you move stuff out of the way to look. I know they have a filing system by cover price and age of comics, I'm sure some people like that setup. I find it makes digging a little cumbersome personally.Books are priced, no guesses, no waiting for someone to Ebay price each book or any of that garbage. So I appreciate that.If you have time to dig, they have a great selection of comics.

This shop always has a nice selection, and the layout is well done. The behind the counter trading cards could be displayed better. All in all a good comic shop.

Cool comic book store. Lots of back issues. A few collectibles. Been going here for about 8 years. Located in flint Michigan. Support local business and your neighborhood comic book store!

With Gamers Sanctuary closing, don’t choose this as next go to.Store is dirty. And owner cheated in a draft to win it all a few years back against me. Shiesty as hell.

Editing my review to one star based on the store response below. I have no reason to make up stories about my experiences, and to accuse a customer of doing so is no better business than talking bad about another store.I stopped in for some storage boxes because my normal store is closed on Sundays. I wish I would have waited until they opened back up.The person working was friendly enough, but I noticed that he was talking over another customer who was asking about variant covers. He seemed like he was pretty passionate about whatever they were talking about so I contributed it to his excitement. We shopped around and each picked out a book then went to check out. We mentioned that we normally shop at another store on the other side of town. The young man proceeded to say oh I don't like them, they're scummy. He continued on that he's never been in the store, he's just "heard things" from another customer.I'm sorry but there's absolutely no reason to bad mouth another comic book store. It's not like it's a flooded market in the area. In fact most shops will tell you about other shops to help build the market...To bad mouth a store that you have no personal experience with at all is beyond bad business. It seems to me like you're just trying to drive business away from them.

It’s a bit overwhelming in the store because of the huge selection in boxes. But if you know what you want or just like browsing what’s new, this place is awesome. They also have a good selection of collectibles like pop figures. The employees have never made me feel like an idiot when I’m there and I appreciate that - I can’t say the same for other shops I’ve been to.

Right when we walked in we heard some guys up at the counter very loudly being racist as he was imitating non english speaking persons accents multiple times and enforcing harmful stereotypes while a few others laughed. I didn’t pay attention as to who it was but the worker there was actively engaged, assuming he wasn’t the one making the racist comment. Either way he was at the counter with the other guys and did nothing to correct or to address the disgusting behavior as they were all white. We immediately walked out as it was clear we were not going to support a business who has no problem allowing blatant racism in the store in front of poc customers. We were also not greeted at all or even acknowledged to be in the store.

I have fond memories of this place from when I was a kid, so I went in and had a look around for old time's sake. I've been thinking of collecting comics again for years. But... look, I'm not going to be rude here, but I was disappointed with the customer service and the state of the store. I walked in with close to $500, and purchased nothing. I can't believe this is the same place I once met Mart Nodel, creator of Green Lantern.

A true gem. Love this store! Staff is always friendly and willing to take the time to talk comics and super hero’s with my son. Everyone should take the time to stop in slow down and buy something tactile in this digital world. A comic book is a time machine that takes you to new worlds and even back to your childhood.

This place is awful. Was never greeted, or asked if we were alright, or needed anything. To the kid behind the counter; you don't have to click your nails on the counter while a customer is standing looking at items in the front of the store as if you're in some kind of hurry. You also don't have to roll your eyes at customers when they are talking to you about coming back for a comic YOU should have pulled, or flip their newly purchased comic in their face, because AGAIN, you're in some kind of hurry to get us out. Pretty rude. It's also VERY unorganized. Good luck finding anything specific you'd be looking for.

The store has an amazing assortment of new and old comics. I went there mostly for silver age comics which he had plenty in stock. Prices are fair on back issues. Store is a little crowded and could use some organizing but we are in a pandemic and staffing is difficult in any field. We brought our kids in ( 2.4.6 and 8) and of course they had to use the restroom, the owner was kind enough to let us use the restroom and it was very clean. If you are looking for a place that has great selection then this is the place. We drove in from Lansing and I will continue to make this trip.

Couldn't have been more satisfied with the young man behind the counter, who so kindly helped us succeed on our gift hunting quest for pokemon....You won't be disappointed in the selections they have to choose from....nor will you be disappointed with the customer service they provide. Fun atmosphere . Great staff.

Love this place. I take my sons every other Friday and pick up some old toys and comics for them to read. I pick up some fine cardboard rectangles aka magic. The owner is great and very knowledgeable.

Called them on the phone prior to showing up to make sure they had a stack of Pokemon cards to go through. They sure did! All in a dirty old box! My girlfriend and I spent a solid hour going through cards we assumed were in a $.25 box but no.We get a stack of cards and the employee then proceeds to price out EVERY SINGLE CARD.Before he stated that the box is full of $.25 - $1 cards. We were there an addition 45 minutes. The inside also looks like a mix between a dungeon and a dirty basement. Not sure where he got the prices for these cards but they started to be "worth" more than $1 very quickly. We put over half of them back because the prices were outrageous. We won't ever come back. At least Retro Replay was EXTREMELY fair with their pricing if not excellent. At least the employee was nice to us. Only good thing about the store when we visited.

I am going to leave an honest review. In response, and based upon other honest reviews, the owner will probably be rude and tell me “good story”. But here goes: Parking is horrible. I had to park across the street and walk over. The store looks run down and shady. When you walk inside, it is not much better. Those who said it looks like someone’s basement are being generous. It is very disorganized, extremely dirty, dusty and has an unpleasant odor. No one was working at the register and no one ever greeted or acknowledged us the whole time we were in the store. There was some kind of card tournament going on in the back of the store. People had fast food out everywhere and were talking very loudly, including creative strings of curse words. Some merchandise in the store was covered in dust so thick I could not read the price tag. There was a dry erase calendar in the corner of the store that still had dates and events from July 2015. Everything appeared to be overpriced and I felt like I needed gloves to look through things. We left without purchasing anything and will not return based upon this experience. We went across town to the store on Richfield Rd. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. It was clean and well organized, no dust, no bad odors. They will have my business.

They had a big selection. I went in for the new Venom series and they had old issues that were going for double to 5x the cover price.I'm new to buying comics in store so maybe that is normal. I didn't feel comfortable challenging their prices so my girlfriend and I just left.Store was not that bad though.

Comic Relief is the nostalgic go to shop for all superhero and fantasy/fiction lovers. Great prices! Outstanding gentlemen running the store. I highly recommend this comic book store over any if you're debating on any. I'd drive an hour away rather than down the road just to give the business!1. Great Prices2. Negotiable prices when buying bundle3. Offer a Guild member saving system4. Down to earth comic nerd5. Very nice hard to find and rare Comics6. Toys, action figures, shirts, posters7. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING!!

The owner Lou is a friendly guy. The store is run-down a little bit, but it is hard to maintain the store and sell collectibles not online. :) His selection of numerous collectible things is awesome. He has become my local to go store for my needs, and I always check Comic Relief first before going anywhere else.

Place is pretty run down. No prices on cards in the display cases. It's in a very, very rough location too. That being said, if you're going for comics, everything is ultra organized and kept in pristine condition. From what I saw they only carried magic cards and comics.

Nice comic shop with tons and tons of back issues, also has different TCG games and events.Update: Wanted to update my review, I have seen some other reviews talk about the store being disorganized and I can't for the life of me understand where this comes from. The boxes are all organized by age, title, issue number. I can go in this store and find a very specific comic from a certain age in less than two minutes out of probably 200+ longboxes. There aren't many stores as organized as this place. This is THE shop to go to for comic back issues.

They have a great selection, pretty much anything you want. Just be prepared to pay a bit for it. The staff is a little annoying/awkward but friendly and very knowledgeable. If you're into Magic the gathering or table top they got alot of that, perhaps too much, for me at least. I always feel like I'm interrupting a Magic game when I walk in and start looking at comics. Over all if you need something and can't find it elsewhere, this is the place to pick it up.

I'm not a big fan of stores that feel like someone's basement. The dude working the counter looked homeless. Most of the display shelves were empty even though there seemed to be plenty of junk stashed in the back. The AC was not enough to keep up with twenty five grown men. Other than that, it was great.

This was a great old school comic shop. My son Found some back issues he had been looking for and their new release wal was full of all kinds of independent releases! Really enjoyed the visit!

Nifty little spot. Some cool rare items come in from time to time. Would love to see this place expand to a larger location and get more Pathfinder like items. Very courteous staff however that keep you wanting to come back.

this store delivers inferior customer service that is nearly immeasurable! a complete disservice to proper customer relations. Ive on several occasions tried to acquire products and services from here whether it was for Magic the Gathering or Comics that i wanted to reacquire and was met with apathy and disdain towards my presence in this store. i have never greeted upon arrival at anytime i have come here, and after an egregiously long period of waiting and attempting to get service, it was simply put terrible! There was no icebreakers when greeted just a sickened look of "your interrupting my tv program" look on their faces and i could hear the tv in the background (judge judy). this is beyond unacceptable for a local shop. i try and do my best to support local business but i can assure you i would not recommend nor support this store. there are other local shops that deserve your money and time, please seek them out instead, you wont forget it

I have been going there for 25 years and have never had a problem. The guys are really cool and go out of the way to make sure that you are a satisfied customer. If they don't have it, they will look it up and try to find it. Also, the store is very clean and organize and finding things are easy to do.
