Visited this store today and was so disappointed in my experience with staff treated us as if we were not welcomed. The cashier was dismissive and gave off racist vibe. I don’t throw the word racist around loosely. Customer behind me, same racist vibe. I was not done with my purchase and he reached over my head placed his basket on the counter and did not say excuse me or anything. The cashier said to me he was putting his basket down in a nasty tone after I said wow. I refuse to patronize this place again. I’ll keep my money and go somewhere more welcoming! They over price on there food anyway.

I have been shopping here for years. During that time my diet has evolved, but this store remains essential to my needs. Currently this is my favorite place to buy raw nuts, seeds, beans, oatmeal, etc. They package these bulk items in thin plastic, so it keeps the waste to a minimum. I also buy Ezekiel bread here because it is fresh and never freezer burned.The store also has a food vibe, so it's fun to shop here. There is a lot of parking near the back door, which is great.

I've been coming here for a while, primarily for sustainable beauty products and snacks. Although parking can be a bit of a hassle (as the store is right downtown) there's paid (and some free) street parking if you're willing to walk a few minutes.I really appreciate the diversity of their goods, which spans from larger brands (JASÖN, Tom's) to smaller or local brands. The prices are very reasonable and most of the time everything is in stock. Beauty-wise they have everything from alcohol-free witch hazel toner to chlorophyll supplements (and also an entire aisle of essential oils). There is also an impressive selection of raw or fragrance-free skincare at wholesale prices. I can't speak much about the staff; I don't interact much with others when I shop for what I need, but they have never given me a negative experience. Check this place out if you're looking to buy from small businesses, accommodate a dietary restriction, or clean up your health regimen!

Y'ALL! I am so happy I found this gem! I recently moved to Michigan from Texas and have yet to find my reliable food store. Sure, there are big chains but I needed something like Natural Grocers or Sprouts, neither of which exist in this state. Easter is coming up and we were invited to a family function but were told to provide our own main dish, which I have no problem with. I visited the major chains in search of our beloved Tofurky Ham Style Roast and NOBODY HAS IT. What the heck. I even asked Whole Foods to special order it but nope, they couldn't do that. I contacted Tofurky and let them know that they advertise Meijers in Michigan to have it but none in a 30 mile radius have it in stock. So I searched 'natural food store' in my area and the first one that popped up was Natural Food Patch. I called and they had ONE Tofurky ham left in stock. Alberto was so nice to check and set it aside for me. I jumped in my car and headed that way. I parked in the back of the store, which is convenient since they have a back entrance. Cheyenne (I think that was her name, if not, please let me know and I will update this review) was SO NICE and helpful and retrieved my Tofurky ham for me. She was efficient and got me in and out quick. I was able to look around and see what Natural Food Patch has to offer and I'm happy to report that I will be back. I think I found my place, y'all! Thank you so much to the staff there, I appreciate it!

Teas, Teas and more TEAS! If you love tea as much as I do and want a wide selection of exotic and herbal teas, this is THEE place to visit. Very good prices and often have them for sale.

Excellent! They have everything you need for wellness. I found so many different types of herbs and supplements during my visit. Very Covid conscious as well. This was my first visit and I was very impressed with their customer service and variety of products.

Hello everybody, my flight attendants and I here in Romulus,michigan we enjoy goin to the food patch in ferndale every Fridays to buy there delicious licorice ginger and honey in the jar, the staff that works there at the good patch is helpful and friendly and they always helping me load my bags into my car, I rate the customer service at food patch in ferndale at 126,000 % godbless you all at food patch and I will see you before Christmas this weekend

This is a really good store, great product line, the prices are very reasonable and they tend to be stocked very well, I do have to agree with a couple of the other comments though, I never find the staff particularly friendly, there’s a couple that are fairly nice but the majority of them are just kind of exist and kind of look at you, not in a bad way but they just have no emotion. Other than that the store is fabulous, I’ve been shopping here for many years and will continue to do so.

This has been a decent long standing natural foods store through the years. It could easily be a fantastic store. But shopping here is usually a luke warm experience. Most of the staff won't bother to say hello, make eye contact, smile, or remember you no matter how long or often you shop here.

UPDATE OCT 2023I left a review 5 yrs ago on NFP regarding how some of their staff were indifferent to people of color. I don't frequent the store as often as I used to however I do see that they have diversified the staff and most of the old staff are either gone or I'm going during hours they aren't there.I've had no issue with service as of late.They've ALWAYS had everything I need and then some.It's the perfect spot for all health product needs.

I'm a big nutrition and health advocate. But I never shop at "The Patch" anymore. Why? Because there are too many "packed goods" where we can easily just save a lot of money on alternatives that are simpler and healthier. For example, I can either buy a $7 spray to clean vegetables or wash them with water, or even inexpensive vinegar type solutions. Or I can simply buy "cleaner foods" that are more organic and pesticide-herbicide free. Another example is the multitude of supplements. Firstly, they are often cheaper if you shop around (check Amazon first). Secondly, we can often do better by purchasing whole foods. "The Patch" is overstocked (by shelfspace) with packaged goods and minimally stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables. Sugar is sugar and fat is fat, and fast carbs are fast carbs, whether organic or not. That's why I don't shop at "The Patch" anymore. Most groceries offer more whole foods and even more healthy organic options. MHO ;)

I LOVE Natural Food Patch and shop here almost weekly. Prices on bulk items, items I can barely find other places, and supplements are on point, even comparable to online prices. There are always so many staff members around who are willing to help and direct me through the many supplement options, and I like that it caters to anyone who stumbles in there. Sure, the store is a bit small and the aisles can feel tight if the store is busy, but I'm sure this allows the prices to stay low and for that reason I have no complaints. I'm stumped by the other reviewers complaining about NFP? It's not like going to a big box store and that's the beauty of it. I'm grateful for this store and its staff.

They have a great selection & decent prices on the items I always purchase. It’s small & crowded but that doesn’t bother me. I would have left five starts but I don’t appreciate the way they stalk me like I’m going to steal. I notice that other people of color are always stereotyped when I’m observing things in the store. It’s quite saddening to color someone before even giving them a chance. I completely understand that workers have to be observant for theft. It’s the matter of me being able to shop in peace without being followed around. I know I’m easy on the eyes but geeshh! Other than that I guess I’ll be back until I find an establishment that beats their price points. Because listen sis loves a good deal!

I have shopped here for overe 10 years and always been happy, until today. I was given a $50 dollar gift card for mothers day because this really was one of my favorite stores. Today I use my gift card to get some vitamins and they would not give me my carrot card stamp. Because they don't do that know reason just no. So now I will just order my vitamins on Amazon for the same price and have them delivered to my door. I can see giving them another dollar of my money.when the customer service is gone I might as just order from Amazon.

Tea selection is insane. The selection in this store is great in general, actually. I found some real gems here! Went home with new teas, incense, deodorant, chocolates, etc. Try the locally made chlorella lemonade! I was NOT disappointed!!!

Best place to buy all of your herbal, organic, natural, health products from natural hair color to ginger tea, black soap to Vegan soup. Extremely affordable, clean, organized shelves with knowledgeable, friendly staff. Parking is decent minus construction. Note that being the best means it's often busy. This gem attracts many new and frequent customers, there is constant flow and movement. Only issues, tight aisles. Otherwise, I equate this great health store as the 'happy hour affair' every time I go...any day AM or PM.

Just called the store and asked if they had a certain product they said yes. I then asked how much they charge for the item they told me no quotes over the phone I’m confused 😐 . Why not give the answer. I’m traveling 30 mins away I don’t want to waste my time if I don’t have too. This isn’t a high ticket item why not just tell the price……..???

I called to inquire if the Food Patch sold a particular items, the sales person confirmed that they did indeed sell the product. I then asked how much does the product cost and I was told "we do not quote prices over the phone" Well, how in the hell do I know if the product is cost efficient? If you are in the business of selling products, you should be able to give the customer a price or price range. What if I drive out the the store and do not have enough money or the items is out of my budget? I am very unhappy with the store policy. I wouldn't have given the one star but google makes you give at least one.

Peace, it’s a pretty cool store. But they don’t care to see African Americans shop there... its obvious by the way they stare at you soon as you enter. But that’s the world we live in now.. we can’t even shop and peace.. change your mindset about African Americans... and just do your job. Or better yet find a job where your not interacting with human.. and it’s sad cause it all the stock guys.. women at the register are sweet as pie. Moral of the story... let me shop and peace.

My favorite place to buy vitamins and supplements! They have a wide selection of products you can trust, the store is always clean, and staff is always friendly. Sam is always there when my boyfriend and I come in and he is very helpful and really knows his stuff!

One of my favorites. Kind of small& congested. But the people are kind & helpful so that makes a difference in my book. Because really I really don't like being in any tight Ailes. They are my exception!
