It a shame that the deli allows its employees (woman named Robin) to talk about members of the community in such a negative manner while asking for handouts. We all struggle at one point or another but this grocery store used to be classy.. would like to shop here again hopefully without unwanted remarks from the ones hired to provide customer service.

An okay place. Don't really have any deals kind of over priced and all there decent clearance or reduced items are always normally expired. Lots of there products seem to be expired or very close to being expired. There meat a lot of the time is a faint red to a brown color and don't seem very fresh. Lots of employees seem like it's a burden to ship there like they have better things to do with there time then check out customers. For the most part it gots what you need in a quick hurry they tend to close early a lot. And most employees are respectful and helpful

Cashiers are extremely rude and condescending. I’m honestly shocked at how poor their customer service is. Their meat is horrifically moldy, I can’t believe it’s just sitting there on the shelf for some poor family to buy. My daughter wanted avocados, got home and she cut into one and it’s super moldy. I recently moved here and have only, fortunately, had to encounter this store a few times and after today I REFUSE to go back for anything. Their prices are not feasible. I sat down and went through item by item the brands and prices comparing to other grocery stores. If I would have went to Walmart, I would have saved 48.69, on the same products! Mind blown. Now I get it’s probably more either because they can’t order in bulk to get cheaper prices to the consumer but if you can’t supply “reasonable” prices (everyone’s higher but not as high as Carrows) then you should probably move out of the way and allow a bigger chain to come in. Sounds harsh but we care about feeding our families and not going broke. Many concerns about this store, most importantly is the health issue when it comes to old food on their shelves. Health department will be getting notified. I do feel bad slightly, I want to support a family owned grocery store but that support ends when it’s taking much more money out of our pockets for the same exact food and having to worry if one of my children would get sick just by eating it.

Friendly staff but that doesn't make up for the other stuff. Meat doesn't look the greatest. Prices are extremely high. Would only shop here if only needing a couple things. Otherwise you would be better off going to Walmart even with gas prices this high.

Love this place.! Where else can find over priced items you use every. day? I recommend you don't shop here, especially on Saturday or Sunday, this is when they raise their prices. Nothing priced don't believe the price on the shelves. Bought 3 2ltrs, shelf said 1.98 register charged me 2.29 each. Not the first time this place ripped me off! Maybe 15% more isn't much to you but it is to me. So come on down for some over priced food , brown meat & a bad attitude. If you don't want to talk that's ok because if you don't say anything to the cashier they won't speak to you. 🤔 don't worry ladies we won't be back!

If you like brown or gray meat, hard cookies, old donuts, and terrible attitudes then this is the store for u! Walk thru and just browse the meat section!🤢🤮 And its that way every day! Even the lunchmeat that is packaged elsewhere is gray.

Quaint little country Mom & Pop grocery store for getting the essentials one may run out of between trips to the larger stores, or for picking up the little items that may have been forgotten before the trip up North. Prices are HIGH, selection is slim, food isn't all that fresh...

I'm from the metro Detroit area about 35 miles from Detroit.. It's on great grocery store it's not as big as kroger but it has a good majority of everything that you would need for a camping trip or even a week's long trip it's a long trip and it's all reasonably priced, But their produce and veggies could be a little bit better other than that great place

If you like ur meat brown or gray this is the place discusting meat i can't belive what i seen i been there 6 times in total and everytime the meat is brown hamburg brown pork chops gray but its marked down reduced sale lol this place's meat section will get you sick go check it out for yourself you will see.

Decent prices if you know to look for sales and what grocery prices should be. Good bakery, good butcher (breakfast sausage definitely recommended). A good way to support local business rather than a larger supermarket in Mt Pleasant.

* stay away from ice creams * Seems like every time I get ice cream from there all the chocolate ,nuts ,or toppings they mix into the ice cream is 100% at the bottom. there is always a ice crystal and cream separation in the tubs. I know they have issues with their coolers often but leads me to think that the ice creams are getting heated up then frozen again. ( I only live 3 miles away from the store and always get my ice cream last before checking out so I know it’s not the drive or shopping making this happen)

We like the deli and the butcher meat is not bad, but Steve's is better in Harrison. Deli is great here. Especially starting Memorial and on until after Labor day. They make the best salads and broccoli, macaroni, potato salads.

Yikes!!! Prices are double what we have in the Grand Rapids area. Not the place to grocery shop...just convenience shop!!Just a bigger variety than a convenience store..watch dates.

I will not be doing any kind of shopping here. They are always selling expired food. Produce is never fresh. When I informed the cashier that the sour cream that was in the cooler expired May 15 2018 and it was June 10th it didn't seem to much matter. Unfortunately this is my local grocery store.

Prices here are quite expensive and fresh food, vegetables, meat, seafood are all frozen,it's the only supermarket for 12 to 15 miles around,they cater to weekend customers who vacation at the surrounding lake and woodland cottages, however locals who live here year round make the trip to Clare where the produce is fresh and the selection is greater,and price is much more reasonable.

Called 4 times in 2 weeks to order chicken from the deli and the fryers were shut down hours before close! And the staff in the deli was extremely rude about us wanting to know how many pounds would entice them to turn them back on😡

Produce leaves some to be desired. I was yelled at about shoes, saying being barefoot is illegal (it's not). Meat is... Meh. It's good if you're going to cook it that day, but I don't recommend buying a couple weeks with and freezing. The burger is dry and of low quality... It's alright, because it's close to Farwell, but if I had any other option I would use that instead.

i was Tested for covid today need to be Quarantine for 14 days had no milk or orange juice and asked if they could help me. they did got my things i need and brought them out to me even brought me back my change. i just want to thank Carrows for there caring customer service and helping people in there community.
