Each member of my family has been a customer of Jim's Music for years, and we have purchased instruments, equipment, music books, and taken a variety of music lessons (both guitar and piano).Kristina R. has been giving a majority of my family music lessons since 2019 (both piano and guitar). I started taking lessons from her 5+ years ago because learning how to read piano music has always been on my bucket list. She assured me that I was not her oldest piano student! My youngest son started taking piano from her at the same time, and about a year ago, he started alternating guitar lessons and piano lessons. My middle son was w/ her for guitar for a couple of years, and my oldest son is the newcomer; starting up w/ piano lessons w/ Kristina a few months ago.Kristina is knowledgeable, patient, kind, and encouraging. I would recommend Kristina to anyone of any age group wanting to take lessons. She approaches each learner as an individual and uses various tools depending on their learning level, goals, and interests. She is passionate about music and gives 100% in trying to instill that passion in others.

Kristina has been an excellent teacher. Kind and knowledgable and supportive. We are so appreciative of her help and her talent and her constant encouragement. (2 students) Everyone we have ever dealt with at Jim's has gone out of their way to help us with every situation and question. Would definitely recomend them for your musical needs and aspirations.

Our son started taking piano lessons with Kristina Reidy when he was 8. It’s been so fun to watch him progress and gain confidence in his piano skills. Kristina is great with kids and is helpful and flexible when needed. I would recommend Jim’s for music lessons and Kristina specifically for anyone looking to take lessons for any of the instruments she teaches!

Kristina R. at the Escanaba location of Jim’s music is amazing! She has helped my child grow into a confident musician who enjoys playing the Cello. I highly recommend Jim’s Music in Escanaba, Michigan for your musical inquiries and needs. They are helpful, affordable, knowledgeable, and “go that extra mile” to assist their musical patrons. They have a great supply of guitars, digital keyboards, supplies, etc. I recently purchased a previously owned Irish harp from Jim’s and being a harp novice that I am they generously restrung it for me and tuned it at no cost to me. You don’t find that kind of customer service very often these days - extremely courteous and helpful (I wish more businesses would be as helpful and kind to their customers). Jim’s Music in Escanaba should be your first stop in inquiring about fulfilling your musical aspirations and dreams! And their music teachers are top notch, too!

Great place! The staff is very knowledgeable and very kind. They have a great selection of guitars, books, band instruments, and more. I've also had great experience with lessons there. I have never had a bad experience at Jim's, and it is my favorite place to try out guitars, look for gear, and just talk to people about music.

Jim's has awesome staff, a decent instrument selection for a small town, provides music lessons, and is locally owned. I've shopped here for years and haven't had any issues. Jim's is also a nice place to hang out and jam.

Jim's has it all...great gear, friendly staff and top shelf service. Bill, Tyler, Craig...the whole gang are there to help with everything from lessons to useful information about merchandise to just talking shop about music. Mike Riegel, who used to work out of Esky and now works out of the Iron Mt. store, is a guitar tech who's in a league of his own. The man knows his stuff...I absolutely love his setups. Great store, reasonable prices, exceptional staff. What's not to like?

Very welcoming environment staff are very adequate. Took a couple drum lessons with James, he was very patient and attentive will definitely take more lessons. Great at giving advice for practice outside of lessons as well. I felt very enthusiastic and motivated to learn more.

I needed a music book while on vacation and googled Escanaba. Jims came up on my map. I was not expecting alot. Boy was I wrong!! I found two books to help me in my music practise. The service was warm and personal. The prices were great. I am happy with the books I bought. If I am in need of anything music when I am in the area, Jims is my go to place. Craig is an incredibly talented and gifted guide/teacher and continues to show me a great amount of patience as my instructor! Great selection, stock seems to rotate fairly regularly between the different Jim's locations around the UP and Wisconsin. Staff is helpful and playing the instruments is encouraged.
