Website shutdown but they’re open for business and easily deserve their superb rankings.I’ve had more than my share of pasties over the years, including in Cornwall, and these were the best ever.Half a dozen kinds were hot and ready to go so we only needed to wait as long as it took the cashier to take our order, go to the kitchen, and come out with our pasties.Ordered two and shared: (1) chicken and (2) beef, rutabaga, and carrot. Both superb.

This late lunch stop is just a short block off the main highway. It's an attractive small cafe with a drive through window. I enjoyed the beef and rutabaga pasty which was piping hot. The pastry outer was quite soft; the filling was diced small and pleasantly seasoned. I appreciate the fact that you could taste the vegetables and not too much salt. They are apparently serving close to 400 a day here and it's easy to see why. You'll also find this on the classic "Pasty Trail". Recommended.

Gram's Pasties ..... it was awful ! flavorless trash ... we got a couple different kinds and all were terrible . hot pockets warmed in a microwave at a gas station would have been better. one of the worst food experiences in the past year. one of the ladies working was not friendly at all and seemed like she didnt want to be there. i remember saying when i left that if you hate your job so much why bother ? just go home

When traveling I always ask locals where to eat. Gram's was recommended as THE place to get pasties. I'm glad we listened because it made our first experience eating pasties a memorable one.We arrived 15 minutes before the restaurant opened for the day. When a gentleman we assumed to be the manager saw us waiting, he invited us in. How hospitable! Made us feel right at home! The only drawback was there was no coffee available...so I had a bottle of iced tea while my husband had a Coke. The shell of my pasty was light, the filling was a breakfast combo. They also had frozen pasties with various fillings to go. There were plenty of gifts and t-shirts offered for sale.Gram's Pasties was one of the highlights of our first visit to the Upper Pennisula. We look forward to returning next year.

We stopped at Grams yesterday and had a very interesting experience. Originally we had stopped at the other pastie place and decided against ordering there and stopped here instead. We stepped into an adorable shop to be greeted with a very warm welcome, we ordered our pasties and some frozen to go and enjoyed our pasties at the picnic tables out side. While eating an older gentleman hollered from his vehicle and asked us, "is that dog food good?" To which I replied, "yes, very!!". He preceded to yell to us that it was "BS" and that the pasties were made with dog meat... now I've never had dog meet but those were easily the best pasties I've ever had!!! Whatever your secret is keep it up!!! Lol thank you for making our first visit a great one! We even got a funny story to tell when we get home!!

Perfect place for my first pastie!! Beef, rutabaga, and carrot was delicious. So hot and fresh, ready in an instant. The guy who helped me, (I see from other reviews his name is Allen) was very friendly. Will definitely come back

While my vehicle was being serviced, I walked around and found this pasty place. Sign said that it was voted best pasty for 4 years or something to that affect. They had a nice variety of flavors, but I only eat pastys with rutabaga, which they had. I was anticipating a really good pasty, but I was disappointed instead. The crust was on the soft side, with no crispness to it. Inside, I was again disappointed by the pre-diced potatoes and rutabaga from a food distributor instead of hand cut vegetables. There wasn't much meat, and overall, not much flavor. If you don't know what to expect from a pasty, then you may enjoy it, but I do, and unfortunately, this was not a good example of what it should taste like.

I was a pasty virgin until we came to Gram's. I got the breakfast pasty and it stuck to my ribs until evening. Seriously, i was not hungry again until 7pm.

On a recent trip I asked a local where the best pasties were, they pointed me to Grams! They were not wrong. My Pastie was a traditional beef and rutabaga and was delicious. My son had a less traditional broccoli and chicken and he loved it, and then there was the swirl pastries. Wow! It was so good that on our trip back through Escanaba that we made it a point to stop again!

I went in to get some pasties like about 6 to 12 of them and there was an older lady that was working there and she was NOT friendly at all she told me if I want that much that I should of called two days before and had them made specially for me and per paid for. And I said, OK that’s fine. Can I still get them or can I get at least three of them? And she said no they are all out and I said OK so I left set in the car to see what time the other Pasties shop closed cause I was heading up to camp and I wanted some for camp friend of mine came in got for Pasties and then on the way out. I talk to him if he pre-ordered them and he said no so I don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon. Even though I do like their pasties more than the other one, I’d rather have better customer service. Sorry about the long post.

Among the best pasties in the UP. Still reasonably priced, some varieties offered to the standard pasty; nice, friendly people who helped me with a large order. One of the shops who use vegetable oil instead of lard in their pasties. I'm good with that; I'd rather live longer to enjoy them!
