We stopped in for pie and coffee. If you like pie and coffee, you’ll be VERY happy here. We had the strawberry-rhubarb and the raspberry pies. The strawberry-rhubarb was very good but slightly over sweetened for my taste and without a strong underlying flavor to make it go. The raspberry pie also sweet but had a raspberry punch that made it an excellent pie. All the pies are made on-premise by the way. The coffee, while not gourmet, stands up well to the pie.

We love this spot! We discovered Front Porch Ministries during a summer vacation on Lake Charlevoix and fell in love the first time we ate here. It is a non-profit ministry and the prices are suggested donation. We always give more as the food is excellent. I highly recommend stopping here for breakfast or lunch!

The best hometown restaurant ever. Been coming here since I can remember not always been called the front porch, but still as good as ever. Staff is as friendly as they come. They are quick and courteous. The cooks are great and extremely fast. So glad this place is still open. Prices can't really be beat and portion are very generous. Thanks!!!

This is my wife’s favorite place to escape to. Like Cheers (the TV show) where everybody knows your name. They have all the standards and daily specials that are really a “cut above” the standard fair. Nice deserts especially the home cooked pies usually 3 or 4 variety. Prices are very reasonable. It is a community outreach operation, so please be generous. The restaurant feeds people in need. If we don’t do it who will?

Front Porch Cafe is a place where you truly WILL NOT go hungry. Not only is the food delicious (I LOVE the biscuits & sausage gravy), but they are also a 'pay what you can' restaurant. If you are hungry but short on cash, they will take care of you. Everyone is super friendly, so expect to be treated like family.

Loved it! Food and staff lovely. Had a homemade pumpkin muffin with local cherry preserves from Rocky Top farm and both were yummy. Liked the preserves so much we made a stop to the farm to buy.

Excellent food, great wait staff and wonderful decor!!! Definitely need to by some baked goods after eating(great snack for later) and they're homemade baked goods from a local.Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian Omelet that is absolutely delicious 😋Parking: They have a few parking spots near the building while the rest is mostly street parking(there is a larger parking lot not far from the restaurant).Kid-friendliness: They have crayons and coloring sheets, as well as child sized portion options.Wheelchair accessibility: They have zero booths and almost all tables are wheelchair accessible(there's a couple of tall ones).

Very pleasant. Food was GREAT. Interesting pay concept. You get a bill with suggested amount due but you pay what you can afford. People were very friendly. I would give it 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend going there.

Favorite place in the area. Best staff, best desserts, and who doesn't want to support one of the only non-profit restaurants in America! Also, super cool photography available for purchase on the walls!

This is an awesome place! The food was great and the service is very friendly. I plan to return again and again if able. You have to try the cinnamon rolls, they are soooo good.

There always warm and happy to see you. And when you order your food they work hard to make it just what you order. And they don't treat only the paying people that way it's for all. If you don't have money to pay there no fuss they treat you the same. Great team.

Friendly, quaint, and fun. Only open for b-fast and lunch. Escape the masses in Charlevoix and EJ and go visit. Grab a cup of coffee, a piece of pie (excellent pies!), maybe some toast and their homemade jam, sit back, relax and enjoy.

Love this place. Nice home cooking, great pies, friendly service. Good mission. I can even come by boat from Central Lake....but not in November. We bring company here.

Great food and an outstanding decor is not their thing. This is a christian-based restaurant where patrons pay what they can afford. A noble undertaking. And always a struggle to stay solvent.
