The Hitching Post is has been our must-do on the way to Caseville for years. Always get the doughballs to start, I have tried but mine are not the same. Specials are a great deal, the salmon cakes are amazing and wings are legit.

Went there with my mom and bestie when we wanted to get some lunch after garage saling during Elkton Labor day weekend. The atmospshere is very pleasant for the bar scene. Our waitress was very nice. We ordered a taco pizza. Oh my gosh! Ot was messy but so so good. Their doughballs are also amazing! Will be coming back again.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon with family for the lions game and some food. And what an abysmal experience it was. Besides the decent atmosphere and the drink specials nothing else positive to say. Food was tasteless and cold. Coney dog was so cold we asked to reheat it and were responded with “yea i guess i can reheat it in the microwave but not sure what to tell you thats all i can do” How about remake it?5 minutes later we got it back microwaved with nothing said just walked away. Coney dog sauce was awful.One of the chicken dinners was forgot about when ordering and after waiting 30 minutes when 3-4 of us finished our dinner they had it "to go" to eat it at home and we STILL got charged for it, the least they could’ve done. Couldn’t even write off a ten dollar dinner that they made the mistake on and one person couldn’t even eat with us. But they didn’t miss much because chicken was okay it just existed but the mashed potatoes and gravy were disgusting and cold, tasted fake, lumpy, and had flavorless gravy. Threw it out when we got home.“Come try us again” that was laughable, absolutely no chance. Overall 0/10 recommend would never come back. Spend your money somewhere else.

I went there 10/04/2022 & around 5:30 pm.Food was good, beer was cold, & the prices were fair.The service on the other hand, suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.I sat there 10 minutes waiting on another beer. when I was finally checked on. I said no just the check please. Which resulted in another 5 minutes having to wait for it. After receiving it, she walked away & didn't take money or a card for another 5.The place wasn't very busy.I can go into greater detail, by why ?I just won't be going back.Features: Much like the other 99% of the nation.Everyone around here is fed up with the bs.Time to get back to normal

Neat place. We stopped in after hiking up at Port Crescent. Bartender was helpful with the beer selection. Had an IPA from a Michigan brewer that was stellar. Food was good also. We watched golf on the big screen and unwound. Local clientele were in and out and super friendly. A nice vibe we will do it again.

I went in on Thursday during the day and the bartender was very helpful while helping us pick out 3 appetizer plate we settled with deep fried green beans deep fried cauliflower and these things called kegs. They were the best they are like a tatertot on steroids packed with cheese bacon and potatoes!!!! Super yummy

Did not order any food, but man, did i get a sense of lonely hearts club band when i walked in. Like, it just felt creepy. The bar was nearly full and surrounded by middle to upper aged men, buying drinks prepared by two bartenders who looked annoyed by their gawking presence, and exhausted to be in their company. To be honest, i couldn't have left fast enough. If i come back, it won't be on purpose.

Pizza, hamburgers and beer; need I say more? We especially enjoyed the pizza both the burgers were good too. My inlaws had the Friday fish fry and said it was very good. Definitely worth another trip back!

Pizza was amazing as well as the Waitress! She was the only one and she held her own with being by herself. Since moving to the Thumb we hadn't found that special pizza! We did tonight! We will be back!!

You would never think from looking at the outside of this place the food would be good.You walk in and it's a very nice atmosphere full bar full menu. The burger was great along with homemade fries. It's a place you got to try.

We used to go the the Hitching Post about once a month. We went there today and won't be returning anytime soon. The waitress did not wear a mask, and the pizza dough was half raw even though we ordered it well done.

Awful, awful, awful! My husband and I used to travel here from Bay City frequently because we like the food. Well the portions have been cut in about half. From my understanding there is new management. Well the manager is also a bartender, she is a God-awful wench. She has absolutly NO experience managing and it shows! She never smiles or makes conversation, and often she can be heard complaining and whining to customers. They better get rid of the manager, Janell before she ruins the place.. too bad they can't bring back the two woman cooks. Don't know what happened, they were both there last month and yesterday when we went in neither of them even work there anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if they left due to Janell. They replaced the good cooks with a young kid and a greasy disgusting man that I have seen drunk in the bar multiple times. Awful!

What a great stop!! I had a simple meal of cheddar barrels, which are a potato croquette basically, and a ciabatta bread sandwich. Both were really good! I would return anytime I am in the caseville/elkton area!
