This place has DELICIOUS ice cream, it was amazing and we will definitely be back! The homemade waffle cones were so delicious. We ordered a small moose tracks in a waffle cone and it was definitely enough for 2 people to share!

Big prices and not much ice cream. It wasn’t even filled to the top of the cone. I go out for ice cream usually every week with my grand kids, and can say I have never received this little before. Had to break off a few pieces of cone before I even got to the ice cream. Was hoping this would change with the new owner, but looks like the portions even got smaller. Can’t remember a price this expensive ($7) for so little. Number of places around, even downtown Traverse City that provides better value. Sorry I won’t be back.

The ice cream here is fantastic! We come for the strawberry shortcake every year. It’s the best we’ve ever had! Service is always great.

I understand how difficult it is now to find help. This is why most of my reviews try to focus on the positive. Unfortunately, this used to be my favorite place to stop for a treat. At times we would drive 13 miles one way just to get ice cream from here with a homemade waffle cone. In this past month we have been here at least five times. Three out of the five times they have been out of waffle cones. What???And one time I had to come back an hour later just to get a waffle cone. So truly, four out of five times.Make them up ahead of time, put them in a Rubbermaid container OR don’t advertise that you have homemade waffle cones. This last time it was dead in there and they had no waffle cones. 🤦🏻‍♀️ The whole point of us driving out of our way to THIS ice cream place is because of the waffle cones with the homemade ice cream.Even if it’s busy, someone should be keeping up on the waffle cones at all times. Every time I am in there anymore they are out. There’s a lot of money the business owner is missing out on. Plus unhappy customers. 😕

Wow!! What a treat during the start to summer!! Excellent homemade ice cream + fresh waffle cones in an adorable town. Bring cash!Saw other reviewers mention the price - we found it to be totally reasonable, and less than other “famous” up north ice cream shops. We can’t wait to visit again!

A nice little ice cream Parlor in Elk Rapids. They have a large selection of options. I got seaside Salted carmel which was Fantastic. The person I was with got carmel and pecan, which was stated to be perfect. A fair price for a somewhat Tourist town. Overall a 5 star review. I will be back.

If the line is long, it's gotta be good! Perfect stop after dinner, the owner was super great at answering our questions and definitely had a passion for his creations. Flavors are ever changing and imaginative! Remember to have cash on hand!

*****Updated review*******End of summer 2023Changing my review from five star to two star. Sad!- new ownership (missing Lori)- in-house ice cream is less creamy- in-house ice cream is noticably sweeter than before. In addition, there appears to be an increase use of junk food additives (commercial cookies, candy, etc..) gross! Can get overly sweet ice cream with gross junk food fragments anywhere.Was told new owner uses previous owner's recipes... Not buying it.Summer 2020Best freaking ice cream ever! I’ve lived in multiple states and in multiple locations within Michigan. My point, I’ve visited a fair share of locally made ice cream shops. The revolving list of HOUSE-MADE ice cream flavors at Peddler’s never disappoints. Their ice cream is creamy, rich and NOT disgustingly sweet. You can actually taste the different flavors and cream. Plus, the owner has tons of photos of pups eating frozen yogurt on the wall (pre- Covid). Bring cash, it’s the only form of payment accepted.

Stopped in while in the area. My blueberry cheese case icecream with a waffle cone was delicious and my husband enjoyed his sorbet. 4/5 stars as they are cash only and had only 1 dairy free option.

We have been getting ice cream here for years, they have good selection and service, however I am done. We went the other day and to my surprise the prices jumped up. We both had a regular cup of ice cream, which were very small scoops in their very small cups. Wow, so disappointing and over $5 each. I don't mind paying a fair price but I don't like getting gouged.

I paid over $7 for a banana split that basically was a banana with ice cream hot fudge and whipped cream. There was no pineapple there was no strawberry sauce there were no nuts and there's about two teaspoons of whipped cream. I don't know about you but this is not what I call a banana split. Very disappointed.

This homemade ice cream is delicious 😋!We were very impressed by the generous amounts of ingredients in each scoop. For example, the Mackinac Island Fudge was loaded with fudge!! The bonus is there is plenty of flavors to choose from!

Good ice cream, reasonable prices, but a cash-only establishment? In this day and age? There was also very limited seating, and no public restrooms as far as I could tell. Still, I'd definitely stop in again should I find myself passing through Elk Rapids again.

Ice cream is fantastic, and I am a big fan. However, the customer service is beyond disgraceful. Two of my comrades ordered chocolate milkshakes. The employees made them with VANILLA ice cream and chocolate syrup. The customers asked for it to be made with chocolate ice cream when they saw the milkshakes being made incorrectly, and their correction was met with extreme rudeness. The following day, when we returned (again- FANTASTIC ice cream) the workers were discussing our friends’ orders from the day prior and embarrassed them to their cores. Humiliating. Will return for ice cream, but extremely soured by the customer service.

This is a great place for ice cream! There is a decent selection and friendly staff to serve you. PLEASE NOTE THAT THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!! It is a lovely little ice cream shop that I would definitely recommend.

Great place for a cone after dinner or a day at the beach. They even have froyo for the pups (it looked yummy, actually, and she really enjoyed it!) and blue moon, which is a must when in Michigan. Hope for some dairy free options in the future!

Middle-aged woman whom I believe was thr owner fulfilling orders at 4:30pm on the May 29th was very rude and sarcastic which ruined the whole first time experience. Not the most welcoming and friendly staff. Do not recommend if you're traveling through.

Ordered a sugar cone and the ice cream only filled up half the cone! Gave it a 2nd shot and same thing! I’ve never had that issue at other places serving ice cream. Usually the ice cream is above the cone ??

We went in three days in a row and all three days the customer service was terrible. All three workers were short and acted like they had no interest in helping. It’s unfortunate that the service is so bad because the ice cream is quite good. But if you want a quality family friendly environment, do not go.
