My stunning Wife asked me to plant several rose bushes and build a new gate for our goat pen, so I needed bags of gardening soil and lumber. I found everything I needed and received great service by attentive employees... I will definitely return for items to complete the many tasks on my Honey-do list.

This place has everything you need! The store is loaded with typical hardware items plus much much more, home goods, car care, paint and supplies, grills, beach stuff, outdoor everything! Great staff to assist as well. The best local store packed with all your needs.

My favorite hardware store by far - I can buy many different products and save several other stops. I buy my gardening gear and birdseed, I buy twine and wire for jewelry making and anything else I need! Staff is great, very knowledgeable, and easy-going!

I went here looking for items to finish a project with. I forgot my glasses, and truly can't read anything without them. This customer actually saw me struggling to read, and came over to see if he could help. Just an FYI, I had gotten cataract surgery to see better. Unfortunately I was one of the ones it didn't work for, and now my eyesight is even worse. Very rare, get it if you can though. When it works, I guess it's awesome. Anyhow, he was able to help me get what I needed, so thank you Mr. Eyes! Nice store, nice employees, I'll be back, with glasses this time!

Gill-Roy's is great. They have everything you need from a hardware perspective. And they're one of the few places where you can actually refill a propane tank! And they sell all kinds of wood for almost any project. Staff is friendly. Recently went there after going to a local competitor for a part that was out-of-stock at the competitor - Gill-Roy's of course had it.

Ok, so....it's a convenient hardware store. Really has everything you need. Little tip, they do have all the lumber you need, just ask an associate and they will take you to the huge secret indoor lumber yard. But...just be prepared and the price includes the convenience fee of not having to drive to TC for a big box store.

Love this hardware. Friendly and has about everything. More concerned about having whatever you might need rather than the number of turns per year. Always willing to pay a higher price to a store that has knowledgeable people and what you need but many times the prices are competitive.

They had locked their lumberyard a few minutes before closing to prep for the end of the day but when I asked for 2x4s the manager said to unlock it because "that is what we do." I was able to finish my project on schedule. Thanks!

I live in Kalkaska and after 31 years of commitment to my local hardware. Hands changed, its rapidly running into the ground & l travel to the closest location thats Gill-Roys.Sad its come to that but you all are great to work with. As it should be. Please buy our local store :)

The check out gals have the personality of a rock. Very unfriendly and not helpful what so ever. This is my second experience with this location and both were unpleasant with these gals. I'll go elsewhere.

Gilroys hardware has everything you could imagine for a small town hardware store. It is an absolute gem. The staff is phenomenal, the selection of goods is high quality, and if they don't have it they will find it. I like giving them my money.

Great store, great customer service, and you can find almost anything you would need or want here. The only reason i am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it is a little bit pricey, however it is a local hardware store and most are a little pricy.

Don't know if I caught them on an "off day" but most of the staff were short with me and not very helpful when it came to trying to find things. And the check out person almost seemed annoyed that I picked her line to get into. I like to support local businesses, but it this is how they are normally, I drive into home depot or ACE in TC.
