Klenow's Market represents a wonderful step back in time. This market has been serving Tawas since all the way back to 1900, and offers quality grocery products of all kinds plus remarkable service. I particularly enjoy the vintage butcher counter, which prepares fish and meats of many kinds in house. (My fave? Klenow's house-made salmon spread. YUM!). There's a warm and wonderful nostalgia about this place. It's a 'Pure Michigan' story asonly groceries can tell it!

Will never go back after 2 separate bad experiences with the meat I bought. Tried them once and chalked it up to bad luck but I specifically asked questions the second time and when I got home I had the same problems. Besides they are way overpriced.

I don't live in the area year-round but Klenow's is my place all year. They are always so nice when I come in with a bunch of kids who want to pick stuff out and take forever picking out penny candy at the register. This winter I have been trying to get groceries to a needy household and Walmart couldn't help but Klenow's stepped all the way up and happily helped me shop from afar to make sure they got to the right place. A perfect example of why smaller grocery stores that are actually invested in the community are better than over-corporate big boxes. Plus the deli and meat quality counter is top-notch quality!

2023 update: still a great place to secure bacon, Spatz bread and some premium cuts for the grill.Having shopped there every summer growing up it has always been a go to spot anytime I'm north of Saginaw. Excellent house smoked bacon and jerky. Great smoked salmon and whitefish. Delicious sandwich spread and what better to pair it with than some Spatz bread? Quality meat selection that I'd you plan on coming up for a bit to take advantage of the mixed box. Little bit of everything to toss on the grill for way less than you ever find at the Walmart in town. They also carry beer, wine and liquor with convenient parking available on the main strip.

Went there to find lemon candies, which I did find. Also received a high recommendation for turkey jerky flavored with jalapenos. I intend to return for some of those.

Great meat selection and a little bit of everything else. Beware of the super hot jerky. My family can eat the hottest jerky and foods ever, but this is way over the top. I understand that they'll let you have a sample before purchasing, and I highly recommend doing so.

One of the last places in the area to get some real good jerky. The Super Hot (beef) is amazing. Smoked salmon is amazing too, every time we're around we pick some up.

Great store downtown. Never had a bad cut of meat there. Lots of seasons for different cuts of meats as well. If you don't know which one would be the best to use, ask. People behind the counter are always helpful. Great stock of beer and other beverages to choose from.

I go here daily. I can get pretty much anything I need in-between large shopping trips at a grocery store. I actually leave a ton of things off my bigger shopping list cause I know if I need it, Klenows has it. I buy all my meat here. If it's taco night, they have the seasoning, chips, salsa, shells, beans, lettuce, etc... My daughter came to visit and forgot a toothbrush, Klenows has it. My boys needed a notebook and pencils, Klenows has it... I bought a rope there once just because I saw it and thought "dang, they even have a rope".

What a great small market. They have a fantastic fresh meat section. They make their own sausage which is such a treat! The cashier was so pleasant and very patient with my elderly mother who was having difficulty finding her money. You have to check this place out!

Grass-like beef and buffalo, excellent cuts for grilling and cooking. It's a small grocer-deli-butcher's on a corner, and so worth the drive. I've gotten 2-in thick steaks specially cut here with ease. Excellent service and friendly employees.
