Unfortunately living in a small town sometimes I have to shop here- honestly wish I didn’t!As you can see from these prices, save a lot is way better, save your money and go to petoskey. Everything in this store is 2x what it is in any other store on almost any item. Family fare just seriously doesn’t care about their customers, only about filling their pockets

Do most of my quick shopping at Save a lot but when I need high quality or hard to find items Family Fare is my go to place.Pretty good store for a small town supermarket, could have a little bit better GOOD bourbon selection...

I began shopping here when I moved to EJ about five months ago. The prices seem to steadily increase, but that's everywhere these days... The real issue is with customer service and front end management. I've been over charged multiple times and double charged for my entire purchase twice... once for 79.00 the second time for 52.00. I did receive a refund for the 79 from my bank and my bank is currently looking into the second charge this happened months apart but with the same cashier and manager. I'm not sure why this happens they ring up order then tell me my card will only pay x amount even though I know there's more than enough money in my account to pay for the order so I ask them to remove some items which the cashier does but then needs manager approval. The manager comes over tells the cashier she needs to void the transaction and start over and then I pay for the order with the new total and when I get home my and check my account I've been charged for both the original order which they claim to have deleted along with the new order... last weekend they attempted to do the same exact thing so they voided the first order and I tell them to stop I'm not paying again because I've been to this circus before explaining I don't want to be charged double..I leave just to get home and find the order they claimed there was not enough money to pay for and they supposedly deleted was charged to my bank acct. It can't be random since it's the third time and same employees. I called the day manager who wanted me to come in and I haven't had time to do so yet. The entire experience is time consuming enough... what should take 5 minutes turns into a half hour ordeal and I leave with no groceries and no money. .I'll drive the extra distance from now on and I'll encourage others to do the same until something is done to rectify the situation.

Family Fare in East Jordan is a good spot to run a grab a quick thing or two that you may have missed something from the bigger stores. They tend to be more expensive and have a very limited selection of groceries. Most likely they will have any processed food items or dry goods that you might need last minute, but their meat and produce selection is always picked over and few and far between.

For a smaller store compared to bigger corporations we found prices are not too bad. Meats we bought were perfect. Deli fried 🐔 was perfect. On vacation and nearest grocery was Family Fare. Not disappointed. Staff very courteous .

Over priced but that's what we pay for convenience. Sometimes the sales are good but not as often as they would like you to think. Just because it says "sale" doesn't mean you won't pay less at Meijer or Walmart. Shop around if you're able to otherwise pay the convenience fees.

Love the staff at our Family Fare, always helpful and great attitudes. I appreciate having our local market and try to support our local stores. They can be expensive though so you need to shop smart and hit the deals. I actually saved $41 dollars using my saving card and and buying stuff on sale. Best was the pork should roast buy one get one.

A little on the pricier side and recently went for some produce- big mistake! MOLD on some strawberries for sale and just nasty produce overall. BUT clean store, and always friendly to me when I visit. Wish the Family Fare near me had a better variety and selection as others in general area but they do carry a few of my favorite new food brands- all local!

Compared to other family fare stores in the area, this one is like shopping in a third world country. Most of the time it is poorly stocked and not very clean. I drive to either boyne or bellair. Both stores there have alot better selections.

It a good store that is decent prices and I like the rewards card and the double dollar with buying produce and I've gotten my produce free from the double up points.

Only gave it 2 stars because of the prices. Not sure who sets the price on goods there but expect to spend $100 using just the smallest cart.. Food quality and service is very good to excellent.

This one must be one of there lower,Stores. Because it's missing Somethings. Till I said to myself What ??And I have to say, and I know East Jordon, is a very nice area. Thing is there I really miss there at the store. That's the,,, deli, with Baked Beans, Chicken, Doughnut's, Potato Salads, But in the Summer Time. Right behind BP Gas, there's this little Chicken Place. Sorry Family Fare, or maybe I should be Saying. Thank~You for Being a Wonderful Family that You are. Just like where you started out. My place where I Grew up myself,,, for so many years. They, had a place Two Nights a Week you could buy Your Best Chicken Also. Right in Downtown Byron Center, Michigan. And it Seams to me that is,, How Great Your Family is Your Chicken, is Good Also, but You Don't ever take !!!! Any, of these places Business, from them. They just selling there one thing. Great Family Own, Good Tasting Chicken !! But Would I ever Think That, a Place I care, for so many Years. That Always had Great Prices, Always Great closed to home of,fresh meats, produced, ice-cream, (right in town) goes on and on. I move into Cadillac Mi. In 2000, and I think my Favorit Store Moved in town 2003. Then I married, moved to Manton. Just to find out that Life was to Short, seven years later Cancer took my little friend, Also was my wife in 2010,,, five years later I moved to a little town Ellsworth., MI. Has all the essentials and then some! Friendly staff, clean store, and my favorite part was the cart I grabbed had a directory right on it so I could find things easily as I just moved to the area so everything is still so new.

Like shopping at Family Fare. Good produce, deli and meat counter. Their prices tend to be high but they do have a good variety and good sales. The store in Gaylord has a Starbucks and Dairy Queen inside with a little seating area.

The people are awesome, most of the time. It's the prices that suck. I only go here for a few small items that I cannot get anywhere else in town. Otherwise, you are much better off, especially if you don't want to be horribly price gouged, to go 3 miles across town and shop at Save-a-lot.

They East Jordan Family Fare shouldn't even exist. It's easy to small and crowded. Especially the entrance. It's jam packed with carts and not even enough room for two people to pass each other. And the selection is sparse. Close it or build a bigger one.

This place is horribly over priced and should be ashamed of itself. It is one of 2 grocery stores in a hard working community. And it is surrounded by local farms but I never see local produce instead old shipped in produce that is over priced. I don't see how a family who lives in that beautiful sweet town can afford to shop there. What a greedy place. Shame on you!

I came to East Jordan because I needed jalapeños and the Charlevoix store only had a few that weren't that great looking. East Jordan store didn't disappoint on the jalapeños, but only had one lane open and long lines. With no self checkout I was forced to hang out and wait in line, but at least I got what I came for.

I have enjoyed using their Fastlane online shopping service for the past year, and it has literally given me an extra half-day in my life every week. While I loved visiting the store, the extra time is a real bonus.

Dirty store, watch for roaches if returning bottles or cans. It's hit or miss with that too. Always seems to be a full or non working machine...Regularly find multiple items EXPIRED ...dairy, juices, shelved items. Also have bought items,gotten home and when the item was opened, found the INNER seal pulled out.
