Had the pizza. The first time was very good. The second time we tasted way too much Parmesan in the cheese. Killed it. Sweet Thangs does that as well, so we stopped eating there pizza. If it wasn't Parmesan, it was another pungent type cheese that over powered the flavor.

Happy Jake’s is awesome! Always there whenever I need to pick up a gallon of milk or a dozen minnows before I hit the lake. And the food?! Pizza and burgers are top notch! Good selection of beer, wine and spirits too. It’s a one stop party store that checks off all the boxes. Way to go Happy Jake’s crew!

We have gotten food from here several times since Jake bought the store. Everything has been just great! Looking forward to the pizza we are getting tonight. We are completely done with Lindy's, they have zero consistancy in their pizza and all their fried food is burned."UPDATE" The pizza was outstanding from Jakes.

I had the large Italian chopped sub and it was great! Loads of flavor and good portions... we have also gotten several Big Momma pizzas and for the price and size... love it!

Driving past, you wouldn’t expect such good food and selection from a little hole in the wall. I was impressed! Good food, really fresh stuff. Awesome.

Finally tried it and completely disappointed. Happy Jakes Signature burger had no beer cheese. Both burgers were so dry we didn’t finish them… “loaded” fries had dried up cheese, tomatoes, olives and mounds of onions. No sauce consistency what so ever on anything!! $50 down the drain!

Last week I ordered a bbq brisket basket with seasoned fries and coleslaw. Fries and slaw were good.The first two bites of the brisket sandwich were tender and meaty.However, the 3rd bite was a big piece of fat, as well as 2 other bites (all of which i had to spit out after wiping the running fat off my chin)! I would have given them 5 Stars, but not after this experience.Below is an earlier testimonial from a different day:Tonight will be our 1st experience with Happy Jake's. I'm stuck home with a bad knee and my husband is picking up a 4 piece chicken basket and I'm getting a toasted Reuben on swirl rye.We loved Cranky Hanks, especially their fantastic pizzas more than worth the price. Huge, not soggy, loaded with toppings and hot!Ill.let you all know how our food tastes! Hopefully the staff is as nice as well!

Well, its been 3 months and figured I'd give Jakes another chance. Failed once again. Ordered a meat lovers pizza (MEAT lovers). Little Ceasers has more meat on their 3 meat pizza at a fraction of the cost. One day Jakes might get it figured out. Don't carry 3 of the drinks I used to purchase almost daily. Cheese sticks taste like garbage. No longer offer taco salad. Turkey sub had chucked turkey instead of sliced (WTH). Hamburger on nacho Supreme had zero flavor. The placement of the smoker out front was poor planning (inconvenient for customers). Will not be returning. Tired of being let down.

I have given them several opportunities to make a good thin crust cut in squares sausage and cheese pizza. They have got it wrong more times than right. Tonight we ordered that pizza, when I checked to make sure it was cut right I noticed it was burnt. The lady at the register ask if everything was OK, I told her the pizza was burnt. She said sorry and asked for my money. I won't be going back

The food we ordered was okish. Cheese sticks rubbery not fresh. Was pretty let down with the bread not being toasted on the cranky hank burger. Just soggy bread when I got home. Was given salsa for marinara. Ordered a smoked pulled pork sandwich and literally no BBQ sauce on it. We were definitely not happy with the food especially for the price!!! I don't think we will be returning. Use to be one of our favorite spots but I don't think so anymore.

Used to be awesome when it was still Cranky Hanks. I'm sorry but I think they need more experience with getting the orders right, also with pulling the pizza out of the oven before its too done, or maybe it's just whoever was working that day, or maybe it was a double fluke. The quality has changed and the prices have increased, either that or we were mischarged. Tbh I'm hoping it's the latter.The people are still super nice, just sadly the actual product has changed and I wish it was how it used to be because they were my favorite place to get pizza around here, and when I first got pizza there about a year ago, I was astounded at how affordable it was, our last experience was the opposite of that.We're giving them a chance to maybe figure some things out, but yeah, I hope they can make it like it used to be 🙏

Sorely disappointed.. mother lives within walking distance to this store. Been taking my kids and grandkids there since they were all little. It's become sorta a tradition to walk to "Cranky hanks" and stock up on goodies. Went there to get three items and they had nothing I was looking for. The candy wall was almost cleaned out (compared to what we were used to) first time in at least 20 years I've walked out without buying something. I wanted to ask for Jake to let him know I wasn't happy. Just not the same store it used to be. Oh well.. took a drive to town. Hopefully the manner will have what I need.

Paid extra for beer cheese and did not get it, food was incredibly soggy, all fried foods as well. Signature burger didn’t even have the correct toppings. Took over an hour for food to be done. And stock options were terrible, looked like there was nothing in the store.

Visited today with my wife and daughter and will definitely be back. A family friendly atmosphere with an incredible selection of food, drinks, etc. We got the pizza and tried mojos for the first time and the hype is real.

Can't get an order right . we ordered a small pepperoni pizza drive 10 minutes out to get it wasted my time gas all to get back home an take a bite an there not pizza sauce on it there's BBQ sauce so called them to ask why she said cause that's what he said you ordered no we ordered a small pepperoni pizza not once did I even say anything about BBQ sauce in the conversation .. so now to waste more gas to get another pizza I'm not gonna eat cause the first one ruined my appetite ..

Love this shop! Great service! Love the homemade dips and salads. Pretty good pizza. Very convenient lots of things you wouldn't expect them to carry they have. It's the perfect quick stop and shop. Tons of drinks and snacks. Everyone is very friendly. And they sell super fun t shirts of the shop! Love this place!

Great people and great food. Amazing pizza, burgers, and sandwiches. A little pricey, but most menu items worth the money paid. Been going here for years and hasn't gotten old yet! Only areas I think could use some improvement are their nachos and burritos. They do charge a bit much for add-ons like au jus and garlic butter.

Definate ly out of the way, quaint bait shop/snacks and beer. Main attraction is the pizza. Loaded with excellent quality ingredients, crust is phenomenal, cheery but super super crispy, even after a night in the fridge, great place, worth the drive!

Country store on the outskirts of Dowagiac, very near my home. Lots or quirk and local charm. I was delighted when they added a kitchen and started offering take out food! Especially after ordering a few times and finding it to be soooo good. I have never been so full from just one slice of pizza (not even in Chicago)! Also, this store is owned and run by a nice local family. Support local business, keeping your spent dollars in our community is a good thing!

Small store kind of in the middle of nowhere. This was the best pizza I’ve had from anywhere around Michiana. Everyone inside was very friendly. If you want good pizza, take the drive and check this place out.

Cranky Hanks, their pizza is normally great, but, Sunday I ordered a 16" and when i picked it up it was overdone. This was after bragging about how good it was. Not Happy.
