I come here for lunch typically at least once a week. Lovely sandwiches for a great price. Come for lunch, stay for the house made candy and ice cream! I tend towards the chocolate covered Oreos myself, but do not sleep on the malt balls!

One of our favorite places in Dowagiac,MI. I always order a REAL Green River to go with my sundae. Their hand made chocolates are awesome too! It’s like going back in time.

Wonderful, charming place with friendly employees. We ordered shakes and malts (possibly the best malt I've ever had) - generous portions at reasonable prices. Also took home some handmade chocolates - delicious! This place is the real deal!

I gave it a 3 only because the younger girl there was not Friendly at all. My daughter and I went in because we wanted to check it out for the first time and we ordered ice cream and sat in there to eat it. Ice cream was great and the place looks amazing. Would be nice if they had friendly service. The cashier had good customer service. Good customer service with a smile is what keeps me coming back but the other girl didn't even smile while waiting on us and made us feel uncomfortable being there.

Would rate 0 stars but it wont let me. Stood at the counter for 10 min while they are on their phones. No one acknowledged me at all. Hope the owner sees this and immediately does something. Will never go here again.

Nostalgic step into history of 1920's soda bar, ice cream, sandwich, and candy store. Awesome hand dipped chocolates very reasonable priced. Best toffee and carmel I've ever had. Small quaint but huge in offerings.

I really wanted to love this place. It's been on my bucket list for years so I was excited to check it out since we were camping in Dowagiac. The place itself is beautiful, almost unchanged since it's opening in 1922. There is a "soda bar", plenty of ice cream and loads of different candies. My husband and I enjoyed the candy and soda but what really turned us off was the lack of passion the employees showed towards their products. Each time we asked about how something tasted they would respond "it's ok". I guess I just thought a candy shop would have more energetic and enthusiastic employees. People like candy stores like this because it takes them back to their childhood but this place bummed us out.

Delivers a fun soda fountain experience for today's kids. Reminds me of Crown Candy Kitchen in STL. The staff could be a little more energetic, but it's still a fun place to visit.

I used to eat lunch at Caruso's when I was going to the local college 47 years ago. It's one of my favorite places. Their candy is hand made and delicious.

The place is awesome! I had the chocolate cherry Italian soda with cream phosphate. It tasted like I was drinking a chocolate covered cherry. Mmmmm. Will be back for sure!
