I recently had the pleasure of bringing my beloved pet to Village Animal Clinic, and I must say that their caring team and exceptional veterinary services left a lasting impression. From the moment we walked in, it was evident that the staff genuinely cared about the well-being of animals. They were incredibly attentive, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately put both my pet and me at ease. The veterinary at Village Animal Clinic is highly knowledgeable and skilled, offering thorough examinations and personalized treatment plans. They take the time to explain each step of the process and answered all of my questions with patience and expertise. I was truly impressed by their dedication to providing the best possible care for my pet. I highly recommend Village Animal Clinic for their exceptional team and top-notch veterinary services.

Amazing staff. They treat my rescue dog like a princess. When I found out she had mammary cancer, I saw a dog cancer specialist to understand the next steps. Afterwards, I was so sad because I couldn’t afford the surgery—they did not accept payment plans. I was so relieved after coming to the Village Animal Clinic because they looked at the “big picture” and made the process affordable. Maya is continuing to recover and fight her cancer. We would not be able to do it without this amazing team! ❤️

PSA: I will never go back to this vet clinic again. It’s disgusting how people working with the sweetest animals can act so rude. I called back for a refill for my puppy Dexter and the front desk lady couldn’t even find my name on the computer, they had me under a whole different name and I’ve been there multiple times!! I asked maybe if it could be under Dexters name and she rudely followed my question with “why would it be under his name? Does your dog pay the bills no”. Then she said she couldn’t refill his meds because he’s been off of them for three days but last time he was off of them a week and they refilled them. Very disorganized company. I do remember the last time I had visited this vet they made my dog feel very uncomfortable to where he began to have anxiety. I have never once had to put a muzzle on my dog before but they went ahead and did it without asking even after I asked them kindly not to and I could just come back another day. I wish everyone could’ve heard the way the front desk lady talked to me, I was so upset I called back and asked for my records because I am done with this clinic, a different lady answered so I told her to not let her employees talk to PAYING customers like that again and replied with “you bet” with no remorse. Not even a apology. Sad that you all have your animals being treated by disgusting people. I think all the employees there should be treated for something at this point. Yes I understand I put my actual dogs name in this review but you know who you are and I hope this review will make you want to reflect on yourself to become a positive figure in your career path or maybe this isn’t the job god intended for you. Have a great day Village Animal Clinic.

They weren't letting people come in with their pets for almost 3 years due to covid. I had an appointment at 9am which they called to cancel due to being understaffed. They called me back later in the afternoon asking if I could come now, which I did. After dropping my dog off, I left to go put gas in my car and came right back. When I looked at my receipt, I noticed they charged my an additional $50 for "leaving the parking lot". When I called to ask about it, I was rudely informed that "I was told that I would be charged if I leave, and they don't have room to board animals".1. I would have never left if I knew I would be charged. $50 is a lot of money to me.2. I was gone for 5 minutes and I was back before they called me to discuss my dog.3. I would have not had to get gas if they didn't cancel/change my appointment.I understand why they had that policy but it was NEVER communicated. I asked for a call back from the manager which I never got, so I emailed them and never got a reply either. It was a very unprofessional interaction and I found a new Veterinarian right after. I hope the $50 was worth loosing a Customer.

Probably the most rude, obnoxious staff I have ever dealt with.I am not sure what has happened here but they used to be great but it has gone downhill since Covid.I have spent thousands at this clinic, multiple pets and recommended many family members too, not anymore, I have also been going here for next to 8 years. The front desk lady was the most rude person I have ever dealt with, she insulted me, my wife, and called me dumb because I asked questions about their policies.I now am taking my pets and encouraging all my family to leave, if you value being treated with respect DO NOT GO HERE, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Also look at the good ratings all pre-Covid (just saying)

My English Bulldog went there for the first time today. She loves this vet. Staff treat you like family, even on your first visit. Met other pet parents who have been going there for years. I could easily understand her medical decision making and treatment plan. It makes sense. The bonus was the low cost at check out! Of the many vets in the area, and we have seen a few over the years, I'm keeping this one.

My dog and cat always get the best care here from knowledgeable staff who love their "clients". Lacey loves to go to this vet; the cat... not so much.

Very unsympathetic vet that doesn’t care about pets, only about paychecks. They are very unorganized. I would recommend going to any other animal clinic, I’m trying to do what’s best for your pets, I could care less what you do with your money. 5pm is hard close time, so if you want 5 more minutes with your dying pet, too bad.

Both Vets and Vet Technicians are fabulous! They're honest, including telling us we really shouldn't have a dog in a very gentle way. Once we decided the family needed one, they've supported us brilliantly. Not just basic veterinary care, which is wonderful. They have given us ideas on training and helped us find solutions to new dog problems.Staff have been wonderful with our cats, even when the cats are rude, which is often. Vets and Vet Techs sat down with us to work through behavior problems and worked with us to keep our cats as happy as possible. They also use a laminated table for cat examinations, not a cold metal one! It makes a surprising difference in the cats behavior.Staff also helped us through the loss of our two elderly kitties. From their care and comfort as aging animals to the time to say goodbye. Can't recommend them strongly enough.

We've brought our cats here for years. The staff is always friendly, and the vets are nice. When we had to leave a cat for overnight care, he was well taken care of. They are kind about giving all options with a sick pet, discussing whether it is practical to proceed with advanced diagnosis options...ultimately leaving the choice up to you.

Everyone in the office as just amazing. They care for your pet and for you. The prices are very inexpensive for the very high quality care that your fur babies receive. I just cannot say enough about everyone in the clinic. Amazing. I drive from South Lyon to go and take my babies to see them. We have tried the Veterinarians in South Lyon and frankly they are way over priced and have little to no empathy whatsoever. Dexter's Village Animal Clinic and the entire staff have our vote. We love you all.

Excellent care, highly skilled diagnosticians, small and caring atmosphere. I have had my dogs cared for here for 20 odd years. They are a wonderful team of caregivers, and I recommend them highly. From puppyhood to geriatric care, behavioral and physical issues, I have only had excellent veterinary care at Village Animal Clinic.

I recently switched vets, and I am glad I did. This place is very reasonable with pricing. The staff is amazing and the Dr. Who performed the spay on my cat is a Rock Star. They call you and check up on your pets to make sure things are going well. I LOVE THIS PLACE!

My old boy cat turned out to have kidney disease, in its early stages. He needed his teeth cleaned and some pulled, and another vet estimated over $1300 with tests and unknowns. I came here, they wanted to get him on a prescription food to improve his kidney function before putting him under anesthesia. I bucked, I wanted organic food made from all meat, etc. They refused to give me my prescription food and explained how long the brand names they'd suggested had been studied and used with exceptional results.I caved in despair because Sneak's teeth needed to be addressed desperately. After a week on the new food, my old boy seemed to feel better, had more energy, and was playful again! I took him in for his teeth after a month and it turns out he just needed and good cleaning, no teeth removed. They saved me a thousand dollars and gave me my cat back.I buy my food here now, to help the local vet that dramatically improved the life of my loved companion. I'll never go anywhere else, and I'll always know in the future that what they suggest is for the best. I couldn't be happier with their exceptional care.

Dr Holmstrand and the staff at Village Animal Clinic have been taking wonderful care of my dogs (and my occasionally worried self) for almost 10 years. I couldn’t be happier and whole heartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and knowledgeable vet.

Left after 11 years because of the office manager. I would suggest you find any other Vet than this one in the long run it will be well worth it . Office manager is very difficult to get along with she changes prices constantly makes rules as she goes she’s very rude I wouldn’t let an animal be seen by her if it was the last place on earth. Take my suggestion and either find another vet now and switch or don’t go to the clinic to begin with you will regret it. In the 11 years I took six animals there one was diabetic the other one had thyroid issues and were seen often I’ve literally spent Thousands of dollars at this vet clinic to be treated badly by an office manager that doesn’t deserve to be there she’s going to bring down the whole clinic

I first discovered this gem of a practice through adopting one of my foster dogs from a local rescue. She was taken here to be spayed, in June of 2015, and I was sincerely impressed then at how friendly and truly loving the staff was, it very refreshing and new to me.I then began using a vet closer to where I live out of convenience and they did their job but once they started becaming more focused on promoting their "24 hour service" I could no longer get any of my dogs in for a regular appointment for at least 3 weeks but they sure had those top dollar emergency appointments available around the clock, including during normal business hours. Today two of my dogs had an encounter with a raccoon (dogs 1 raccoon 0) and one of my girls received quite a few wounds so, obviously, I was desperately trying to get her in to be seen to be sure she had a proper evaluation and a rabies booster... These guys came through for us without hesitation or added emergency fees. While her wounds were superficial, thankfully, she was treated with gentle compassion and given a couple days worth of anti-inflammatory/pain meds at a reasonable fee. All of these factors inspired me to make the decision to have ALL of my dogs records transferred to Village Animal Clinic in Dexter... it may be a 35 minute drive for me BUT my fur babies deserve nothing less!So Thank You Village Animal Clinic! The appreciative Mom of Arya (Pit mix) Mini (Cane Corso) and Maverick (German Shepard)I have no interest in going anywhere else❣

Very nice, friendly folks. Appointments on time, with the "car service". Meaning, they pick up and return your pet to your car. Continuing to use for our second puppy.

I just had the weirdest interaction with the office manager Joanne?? She must have a social disability or something, because she was "way off" and that was unbelievably crazy. She should not be interacting with the public. So sad that she is allowed to hurt this business. And from the many reviews on here the business needs to address it. She shouldn't be in the position of dealing with public in a nice town like Dexter. She is hurting their reputation.

Precise and flawless execution of my animals procedures likely added 5 years of additional life. This is not the first time they have made a difference in our families lives. Thank you VAC.
