This location need to do better. I usually go to the canyon location, but since I moved back to the city I thought I should try my local Petco.The store was pick over and out of stock. The groomer wasn’t very welcoming. My short hair med/small dog took almost two hours to groom and she was wet when we walked in because it was taking longer than normal. No seasonal bandanna, no good update on how your pup did, late and half service. TerribleIf you want great service please go to the Canton, MI location. They give all dogs cute holiday bananas. They take pictures of your pup and give them to you. They text you with updates. They are always happy to see your pup and know who’s next when they walk in. Highly recommend.

They were out of what I really needed but Had my senior dog food. There are quite a few empty shelves but they were restocking so I probably just came at a bad time. I would recommend calling to make sure your fur babies food is there first before making the trip. The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous.

I would like to leave a positive review. I can almost always find what I need and the employees have always been friendly and helpful. Yesterday, in particular, Art and Ashley helped me with a problem I was having with my cats. They used their knowledge and experience to help me find a solution. Thanks again!

RJ is the best groomer around! He has been the only groomer for my little Tank (Yorkie) for over two years now (we started with RJ at the Livonia location). We live 30 minutes away but having a groomer as amazing as RJ is priceless and worth the drive!

Bought my dog in at 1:30 for his appointment dog is still here as we speak 7:32 pm .I was told that my dog was matted and it takes longer my dog his been here 7 hours and still waiting. I reach out to the Gm, I was told because my dog was matted there was no discounts at this time my total for this service was 100.35 I'm very disappointed do not take your dog there. I will be calling corporate in the morning totally unacceptable. Let me keep stating still here the store is closed waiting on my dog.

While any other time I’ve had a pleasant experience - this particular time in didn’t. I needed to get 1 bag of cat food, got there at 6:50PM and the woman standing at the door talking to her friend told me they were closed. They close at 7PM. I won’t argue with you - have a nice day, but I won’t be back to this one unfortunately.

This is our local petco. We pick up most of our dog supplies here. It seems to have a better than avarage selection than prior petcos ive used. From bowls and beds to food and treats.Also, the amazing RJ grooms our little guy and does a very good job. It's great to watch the groomers transform the dogs as they sit and chat with them.

The staff is great but the store hours are horrible! Nothing is ever in stock! This is the worst location I’ve been to and it’s the closest one to me so if I want to shop there I have to go far out of my way. I don’t even know why the opened a store that is almost never open! Waste of space!

Just shut it down and move away and take the ridiculous hrs, no stock, and bad customer service with you. The only reason they get 1 star from me is to be able to post. Other than that you get NO stars.

UPDATE - They closed the complaint claiming I was unreachable. While following up, I learned they had the wrong phone# on file so they re-opened the case. This exact scenario happened 3 times over the course of several months. Each time I called, they had to “update” the phone #, but every time they reached out, they called the same wrong # citing it as my fault. No resolution. They got away with falsely accusing a disabled person of theft. If I had $ for an attorney, I would have taken them to court. It’s a real shame that the company didn’t own up to their mistake…yet another reason to not support the big box stores. Shop local and support companies that actually care.ORIGINAL REVIEW written 2021:I'm disabled with Tourette Syndrome and other medical conditions. Last night I purchased some items from Petco in Detroit,MI. While putting my things away at my vehicle, an associate came out and falsely accused me of stealing. No proof, just an accusation from another customer. This escalated my Tourette tics and triggered a medical episode. I filed a complaint and am waiting to hear from the headquarters (in San Diego) about the next step in this process.On another note, this location has poor quality feeder insects. I had to stop buying my bugs from them because too many times, I got containers that had dead/dying insects or the amount was less than it was supposed to be.

Expensive but very convenient. Twice as much as my mom and pop spot on almost everything and not the same quality at times. Very close to home and decent hours of operation though... also worth not having to drive the distance pay for gas or risk the drama.

RJ did a fantastic job with my puppy! He’s patient and the cut was beautiful! Note that it took about 4-5 hours, but she seemed happy when we picked her up both times.

Trying to book through their app makes it impossible to get both of my dogs groomed anywhere near the same time. I’ll go somewhere else then because not only is that obnoxious it’s incredibly wasteful. Why would I drive there twice and why should I have to take time off of work to be able to get both dogs groomed in the same day? Scheduled one appointment for 3:30, scheduler showing 14 available times including 2:30 and 3:00 appointments still available. Go to schedule other dog and only 7 available with nothing after 1:30. Cancel appointment and go back in all 14 afternoon times available. I’m just go somewhere that cares about efficiency.

Had a great experience at this location. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. All the employees asked if I needed any assistance. Unfortunately, they didn't carry the specific dog food I needed, but the rest of the experience was great. I'll be back to get a beta fish! The glow ones are so cool!
