Disgusting that only exists because of EBT and the local community. They love to sell, expired meats and make it seem like they’re giving you a good deal by putting it on sale. Every single thing there is overpriced. God knows what’s going on in the back the ceiling is constantly leaking. The availability of products is not good. The meat looks absolutely horrendous. Do not eat here. Do not support these people. They do not care about the local community. They do not care about quality they do not care about standards. They are simply here to extract money from the local community, these are very typical Detroit business where everything is cut down only to increase the profits of the owners. This store is a bite in our community and we all need to work together to get rid of them to provide better options for ourselves. Don’t read any of these positive reviews. These people are clearly oblivious, and have no respect for themselves to go to a place like this.

This is the friendlies, most caring store around! The prices are a little higher than they should be but most places around this neighborhood are, in comparison but the family values stand out throughout the business and it definitely shows on every visit I've experienced and I do shop Indian village marketplace often. I also use their pharmacy which is just as wonderful, friendly and efficient as the rest of the store. Great job and thank you to all Indian village employees who are always willing to go over and above! Working with the public is not easy but you all do it very well and are very much appreciated 😊

Staff is extremely rude, owner is arrogant and makes up arbitrary rules about the store. Limiting what a customer can deposit with coinstar when coinstar has no limits.

This store is so nice and clean. I always come here for produce and meat because they have better prices than other stores in the area. Way better then meijer rivertown.

This place was a daily stop while living in Jefferson house. It is better than just having a liquor store to shop at. The pharmacy was my favorite, the guys knew me by name and never had me waiting long. You may even see Dennis Archer or Carmen Harlin shopping there

Prices have increased by 2-3 dollars on food and produce. Being on a fixed low income is making it harder to shop for anything. Employees and owners have always been respectful towards me.

Convenience is the only saving grace. Have gotten freezer burnt food from the frozen section a number of times. Selection is lousy. The older woman cashier once walked in front of me while I was waiting at the express counter, and set her container of stuffed grape leaves on the counter and started eating them… entirely ignoring the fact that I had my hands full with groceries I would like to set down, and also preventing me from checking out. She did not move and I had to awkwardly place my items on the counter around her. If you want to pay high prices for bad quality, and poor customer service shop at this neighborhood gem.

Thee worst place in Detroit to shop for meat,not so fresh, especially smoked meat!!! Hard black and ñever get tender when cooked. I looked at a jar of sun dried tomatoes that was six years past due date. For old and stail food they charge 300 percent more than it's worth!!! I wish that l could speak my thoughts as it is hard for me with katteracks and Gloucoma. I have so much to report about this store!!!!!!

Not a great selection, notorious for leaving expired product on the shelves, cashier's don't even say hello back or look up from phone. Location is only good thing.

The woman ringing me up stayed on the phone during my entire transaction talking to her boyfriend telling him she loved him while I was talking to her, yet she never acknowledged me. I had to double check my receipt for errors because she clearly wasn’t paying much attention to her job. It irks my nerves for employees to be on their phone in the presence of a customer. Even as a customer I get off my phone during the checkout process because it’s rude and you need to be paying attention to what’s going on with your money.Also. How about I got home and had been guzzling my juice all to see that itwas expired almost 2 weeks ago. I’ll never shop here again.

I come here often when in need of fresh produce, the staff is always very kind and treat me well and the prices are always very fair, way better than Parkway. Come here whenever you need the essentials I highly recommend 🙌

Don’t go here. They close 10 mins early and won’t let you in bc they have no idea they are lucky to have a job … which they won’t really soon. If you want to buy it … I wouldn’t either. Just let it die as it should.

This place is just a big nope for me. I'm sure it may be of service for the surrounding area but I will not be returning. I was hoping there was a deli there is not one. Walked around the store and back out the door. I didn't even want to purchase anything.

This business is always full of everything I need. The produce and the meat are always fresh and the prices are always fair. The staff is really nice and always help me when needed. They also have an office where you can pay your bills, cash checks, get money orders, and more. Highly recommend shopping here!

I love this store so much. I shop here all the time for all the essentials I need weekly. This area is very beautiful and clean. The store is very spacious and has many options of products ranging from fresh produce and meat, to household products. The staff is very friendly and always keen to help out when needed. My favorite part about the store is the front office where they offer check cashing, bill payments, and money orders. This helps a-lot because I can cash my checks before I shop. The store is a family owned business and has been for a long time and the owners support the community which makes me more inclined to shop here much rather than at meijer which is more business oriented. I feel welcomed and treated well when I shop here and I couldn’t ask for a better local store.

I used to love this store back when it was Rivera. I remember frequent trips to the grocery store with my mother, and because we were regulars, the workers were always welcoming, friendly, and polite. Since the change, the service has continued to plummet. I now only come to this store by request of my mom. The cashiers, especially the one who works at register one, short, long hair, bright lipstick, is always rude. She never speaks, and she snatches your money out of your hand. One day I came to make a purchase, and forgot I’d locked my card while making a debit card purchase, and so the first time my card ran through it declined my card. Instead of being understanding, she rolled her eyes, and sighed heavily like I was wasting her time. I try to avoid her at all cost when coming here, but it seems like she’s one of their main cashiers so she’s always around. Another issue I have is I’m starting to see expired food on the shelves. This never happened when Rivera was around. It’s like the owners of this store no longer care for the community. I look forward to either Meijer or Kroger breaking ground, because I’m to the point where I’ll start driving outta the city to look for decently priced fresh foods, and good customer service.

I came to the store for the basic essentials. I get in the line and the Cashier is playing games on her phone. I wait her to finish and she has the nerve to catch attitude with me for standing in her line in silence . I'm patient and so a little waiting doesn't hurt anything but her attitude towards me was unacceptable.

So convenient to have a nice neighborhood market nearby. I moved from the suburbs (lots of nice market choices) after 20 years and was saddened to find little to offer for food shopping until I discovered IVMarket.Small, but great staff and always super Clean with nice choices! The prices aren't always competitive, but they're not a Big Box store.The new Jefferson Avenue Meijer is nearby now also, but I enjoy going to Indian Village Market and will continue to give them my business. 😊
