I’ve been really happy with the revamping of private play into PAWsitive enrichment. Trixie is coming home tired and seems to be having a great time in the daily photo updates (especially with bubbles)! Canine to Five isn’t cheap, but it’s nice knowing that Trixie is well looked after and living her best life while I’m at work.

I wouldn't go here for grooming. I've been twice and have been disappointed each time. For this appointment, we agreed to keep my dog fluffy with a round teddy bear face. He is a doodle. The groomer agreed to keep him fluffy and showed me the length she would keep him at after examining his body......I got my dog back and he was shaved bear. No fluff. No round face. I brush my dog daily to make sure that grooming goes smoothly. There is no reason he should have been shaved down. I would have appreciated a phone call before shaving him down to let me know the reason for him to be shaved bald.

Best grooming visit yet! This was our first time visiting today! We just moved to the area and were recommended to visit Canine to Five. My dog has had her hair cut by other groomers in the past but this is by far the best haircut she’s had! We had Lisa, she was very kind and she’s amazing at what she does. Highly recommend going here!

I’ve always gone to Canine to Five for my pets grooming needs. But this time I decided to get him a little color for the girls to see. He is just adorable as you can see they did a great job. Not too much at all.

My 8 month old puppy, Harold, has been going to various Canine to Five’s all summer and now during the fall now that I am back to work. He absolutely loves it and I just simply wouldn’t take him anywhere else. I know they truly care about him and I feel so safe leaving him. He sits at the back door every morning waiting for me to take him there. He looks forward to it. They even took him on a puppy field trip downtown for socialization. It’s just been the best experience and I cannot say enough great things about this place.

If you have a senior dog or a dog with special needs, I would steer clear of this place for grooming or boarding. A year ago, we had a bad experience where my senior dog waited hours in a cramped kennel for a grooming appointment. The staff called to apologize, gave us a big credit and promised this was not a standard practice. So we decided to make another appointment in hopes that they were honestly having a bad day. Instead, the exact same thing happened at our appointment today. We were promised "an hour, two tops" for a grooming appointment. Instead it was about 3 hours, and when I picked him up we were told they couldn't do his nails because "he was too nervous". The reality is, he is a senior who gets anxious when left in a cage for several hours. Anyway, look elsewhere if you want service that looks out for your senior dog. Canine to Five has a bad habit of letting them sit and then blaming the dog for why they can't get the job done.

Our puppy just had her first day here. We were nervous due to her lack of socialization with dogs, and her separation anxiety. However, Canine to Five made us so much more comfortable. They have answered all of our questions. They have been very kind and professional. They have webcams to check in on your pup throughout the day. Also, her report card at the end of the day made us feel so much better! We are so excited to continue taking our pup here, she loved it so much she didn’t want to leave at pick up. Canine to Five is very worth it! A great place to take your dog, so they’re not lonely throughout the day.

My Boxer-Shar Pei mix has his nails trimmed, ears cleaned, teeth brushed at this groomer as avwalk-in. The staff is calm, pleasant, and at ease with Pearson on every visit. The service is quick. The groomers have identified ear issues and counseled me on next steps. So glad I found this business.

My labradoodle Rosie has been going to Canine to Five since she was 12 weeks old - she's now 3 years old! At first I sent her 5 days a week until she was over a year and a half - all that Doodle spirit! Now she goes once a week for good play time and socialization. The team at Canine to Five has been awesome with her and she LOVES them! I've also recommended several of my colleagues from work to take their dog there too. They also have a fabulous grooming staff too! I've not used their boarding services, or any other boarding houses either, but I'm sure they are just as good with the dogs as they are during day care and grooming!

We’ve only had one visit at Canine to Five so far but we absolutely loved it! We got to check on our pup all day long with cameras throughout the building. We got a re-paw-t (report) card at the end of the day to see how our girl enjoyed the day and what she did. All the staff members were extremely helpful and friendly with showing us around and answering all the questions we had. We are very excited to begin using Canine to Five soon!

I love Canine To Five they are the best I took my daughter puppy Riley in for his first visit in everything was awesome they got him together he was looking so nice the staff are awesome very professional in love the animals like they where they on I would recommend that everybody bring there pets here in we will be back in 4 weeks for our next appointment

I'm editing my previous 5 star review because this place suddenly told me that my dog needed to be enrolled in this new program they're offering, after he'd been in group play for over a year. Apparently they have this new program they're trying to get people to sign up for & this just seemed like a money grab. They confirmed my dog is NOT aggressive at all, isn't reactive, and doesn't resource guard, but he "jumps from dog to dog wanting to play" (yeah, it's doggy daycare?) & they basically couldn't handle him anymore. They said I could sign him up for this new "Pawsitive Enrichment Program" though. Seems odd.This is what I received in their newsletter: "By the time we are all settled in with our new way of group management in December, we will have changed Private Play to the new Pawsitive Enrichment program! Group Play dogs can participate in Pawsitive Enrichment activities during their day for $15/session"So I'd have to pay $38 a day, plus the extra $15 ($53/day total) to keep my dog at this facility. Prior to this, they kept suggesting my dog would benefit from going to daycare more than once a week. What changed? It just seems like they kept trying to squeeze more money out of me in any way they could.I ended up taking my dog to a different daycare & they told me, "Rico is a daycare pro & he does so well here." Plus it's only $27/day.My dog was attacked here TWICE, had multiple puncture wounds on his face (apparently the other dog was unharmed) & it cost me hundreds in vet bills from attending this facility. He caught Bordetella & Canine influenza here. I know it's part of doggy daycare, but he's never had these issues at his new daycare.I definitely won't be back, and I suggest researching other facilities before choosing Canine to Five.*****************OLD REVIEWLove this place! The staff is very accommodating & friendly. My sweet boy Rico has such a blast there, and I love that I can pop in & watch him on the webcams as I please. 10/10 would recommend! I just wish they stayed open a little later like 9pm for pickups.

The staff are so friendly and absolutely love our ACD puppy. Our puppy comes home exhausted every time from playing with her friends and I never doubt her safety with this staff. 100% would recommend.

We rescued our dog, Pepper in 2018 Canine to Five has been an exceptional place and stable for us from the beginning. We’ve used there day care services to help socialize her and the staff have always shown her respect and love. We just went on a 18 day vacation in which we used there services. It was such peace of mind knowing that our baby is at her second home and being well taken care of. It is a trusted place for boarding, day care, and grooming. My first time going since petco on Little Mack had a staff change. All of my groomers is beengoingn to for 10 years no longer worked there. I tried this place ou, and they are so nice and my dogs are taken care of when grooming. I'll be visiting again

The best boarding/ day care facility around! Our dog is now elderly so doesn't do as much playing with other dogs, but she does love to sit back and observe. Even though our girl is older, I completely trust them to take great care of her including her complicated feeding and medications! When she was younger she loved running around wild with the other dogs and their staff is highly trained with animal behavior which is key! They care about the dogs health and behavior as a whole! We are so lucky to have such a great facility in Detroit!

We were so nervous to leave our anxious little pup Piper, but Canine to Five eased our worries and did an awesome job keeping her safe and happy. The entire staff was welcoming, check-in and out was a breeze, and we are looking forward to going back in a few days. We are certain from our experience today they will take excellent care of our pup when we leave her for boarding.

My dog (Dice) was groomed half way on Monday he’s in excruciating pain that has had me in tears a hand full of times. Today is Sunday he hasn’t eaten in two days, and just drank water for the first time today since yesterday. He’s been groomed a few times matted and this has never happened. I’m angry and disappointed in the service provided. I was told this is normal as if I knew no better.

The staff are knowledgeable, understanding, compassionate, and kind. Canine to Five, in addition to having an awesome name, were quick to respond to my initial application and incredibly flexible with scheduling our first day visit/evaluation. As a first time daycare user, I felt comforted by the genuinely caring demeanor of all staff with whom I interacted. I trust that they took exceptional care of my little guy due to their detailed and informed feedback. Finding trustworthy and compassionate caregivers for my no. 1 sidekick takes away so much of my stress surrounding starting a new job and having to be away from him. I highly recommend Canine to Five!

This is an updated review from my initial one down below. I originally gave them 5 stars, but I am taking 2 away now.I had been bringing my dog here for grooming for a few years and always had a pleasant experience.However recently, my dog was banned from ever going back for grooming because the groomer stated that he growled at them when they tried to clip his nails. My dog does not like his paws being touched, this has never been a secret, and it definitely should not have been a surprise to anyone at this establishment, especially considering how long he'd been getting groomed here.I even gave them permission to put a muzzle on him during the nail clipping portion of the grooming session, if anyone felt threatened. So, during his last appointment, they put a muzzle on him, but because he growled at them through his muzzle, they banned him from ever coming back again.Any experienced dog groomer should be prepared for dogs being agitated or growling. There was no physical threat to anyone with a less than 15 lb little Maltipoo growling at them through a secure muzzle over his mouth.I am highly disappointed by the way they handled the situation, and now I have to find a new groomer for my dog, which is very inconvenient.Needless to say, I am very unhappy. I would still recommend this groomer to people, however, if your dog has anxiety, doesn't like being touched on certain areas of the body, or is prone to growling, be aware of the potential consequences.Initial review:My (and my dog's) experience with Canine To Five was wonderful! I currently live in Kalamazoo but travel to Detroit almost every other weekend and I could not get a groom appointment for my dog when I needed it in Kalamazoo, so I scheduled an appointment with Canine To Five in Detroit since I knew I'd already be there for the weekend. Staff/customer service was prompt, polite, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I will definitely be taking my dog back to Canine To Five again in the future!

Canine to Five is an incredible resource for dog owners! This woman-owned small business has been helping us provide the best in care for our sweet beagle pup, Buddy. Adding him to our family was exciting -- and overwhelming. Having the weekly Canine to Five puppy program available helped us adjust and learn ways to support Buddy's growth and development! The friendly and knowledgable team is so thoughtful and has provided many helpful tips. The pack leaders, front desk staff and team members alike are always at the ready to answer questions and offer solutions. The daycare packages are tailored to suit many needs and scheduling is seamless. We have been so impressed with the boarding services: away on a recent trip, we even received a check in report and sweet photos that showed Buddy with all his pals! Grooming services are excellent and we are so grateful for the care and the commitment to well-being that the Canine to Five team consistently demonstrates. Thank you all so much!

We have been taking our pitbull pup Olive to Canine to Five for the last few weeks and she has absolutely loved it. First - they don't breed disciminate and that is so incredibly important. They assess each animal individually and make sure they're a good fit! Second- they are very transparent. You can watch your pup on camera all day, they share photos every day, and provide them with a cute little report card on their first day. If you have any questions at pickup they happily answer them. Third - they are so wonderful with the dogs. Olive has so much fun she literally pouts when we pick her up. Fourth - they have different rooms depending on your dog's style, puppy rooms, senior rooms, tiny rooms, I LOVE that. My pup can play pretty hard, I feel good knowing she's with other dogs who can handle her play style (and that she's supervised in the event she gets a little TOO excited). Fifth - The value is wonderful. What you pay for a full day (and I mean FULL) is affordable. This is so great for working families who also have a pup. It feels great knowing if I get caught at work and can't make it right at 5:00 that I'm not going to get some obscene fee for something out of my control.I appreciate the staff's kindness, patience and care they take with dogs. I'm excited for Olive to have this special place to socialize and play with other dogs and humans. I trust them with my pup and would reccomend them to any dog owner!

Top notch, professional, fun, and dog centered. Took our puppy for the puppy program. The staff is more than helpful and enthusiastic. Our puppy had such a great time, and was very tired even the day after! What a great job they do, and provide such a great service to properly socialize you dog / puppy. Price is cheap compared to having a pet that isn't socialized.Every dog gets their picture taken, every day that is posted on their website, and each puppy comes home with report card!I stopped in before I brought our puppy in, and I was completely impressed with the operation they run.You can watch the dog cams, and they even offer pedicure and shampoo services, along with boarding.I wouldn't take our English Bullterrier anywhere else.

Just concluded our first week at Canine to Five Midtown for my two German Shepherd puppies which included daycare and one night of boarding. I’m very satisfied with the care my puppies received.
