We stayed in a cabin. Marge and the staff were very friendly and helpful! The campground was very nice. Beautiful view of Big Manistee Lake and the beach was fun. The cabin was kind of rustic, sheets and blankets were provided, along with dishes and cookware, but you always have to bring a lot more than that. We've been to the U.P. several times and knew what to bring to make our stay comfortable. Had a really great time with our family and appreciated our stay there!

The staff is really friendly! We stayed Labor Day weekend in cabin Elm, the cabin was small but very nice for the price. It was a hot weekend and no AC was not a problem, there was fan provided and lots of windows. My family enjoyed the beach and the playground. Most people are gone sightseeing during the day and the park is super quite. The mattresses in the cabin could’ve been better, but like I said the price was fair. The last day I was there the staff went above and beyond as I had a nail in my tire. They called down to tire shop in Curtis and got me right in. We’ll be coming back.

Campground is okay, a little bit of a walk to the lakefront. Laundry room small but efficient. Sites are very close to each other. Had a neighbor who decided to check in at 10:30 at night. Not really the campgrounds well just people being rude in general.

We're here for a week. The deluxe spot for us ( we have a 32 ft 5th wheel) is GREAT. Cement pad, wooded sites, pull thru. And the fixtures are close to each other so you don't have to jockey between water and sewer.Staff is SUPER Friendly. Very quiet and peaceful place to call home for a week

We had a 5th wheel and had a pull thru site. Concrete pad with brick patio. Huge grassy area with fire pit and picnic table. Tree line and bushes blocked neighboring campers on either side. Lake was beautiful and they even had a little trail to walk our lab. Separate area forI dogs to swim. Staff very friendly. Will definitely return if in the area!

Great: The resort grounds are nice, and the place is pet-friendly (we did not bring a pet). The lake is beautiful, the office offers sale of firewood (you Must use their firewood only), some other basics, and ice. They seemed very friendly and have good handouts for restaurants and activities in the area. Apparently, you can rent a boat slip, right on the shore behind the cabins, on Lake Manistique. We did not have time when we checked in, to take look at offerings, and had plans that kept us away from the cabin/resort most of the time.Meh: Maybe some of the cabins are really nice, but ours left much to be desired (Elm). We were only there two nights (almost $90/night with taxes), and paid what seems like an exorbitant amount for the condition of the cabin. Sheets were provided, one quilt for each bed, the mattresses were "okay", at best. No towels, no washcloths, were provided, in spite of the washroom and toilet in-cabin. The water came out of the sink faucet piping hot, which was great, but the microwave didn't seem to heat up anything - even water - much more. The stove worked, but the saucepan looked filthy and then wouldn't come clean. It rained quite a bit our first night, but the roof seemed sound, and we stayed dry.Terrible: the smell and the cold.Predicting cold or hot in the third to fourth week of September is hard. We get that, and don't blame the resort for cold weather! However, you do expect *real heat to be available* in a fall rental in the U.P.There appeared to be a thermostat on the wall, but it didn't do anything. The only heat in the small cabin (Elm) was one electric plug-in radiator. There was one outlet in the entire main room, with a power strip (and none in the bedroom). That one power strip was supposed to supply the power for the microwave oven, the coffee maker if you used it, a toaster, the heater, and anything that you need to plug in, like chargers. The other spot on the outlet was taken up by the refrigerator. Needless to say, trying to make toast while the radiator was plugged in because it's 38° outside, would not have worked. The radiator as high as it could go barely made a difference once the temperature outside went below 50°. There appeared to be no insulation, and the windows clearly had drafts all around. We ended up boiling water on the stove while we were there, just to try to supplement the paltry heat of the radiator. We took the quilt for the other bed and added it to ours. Good thing we both had brought real pajamas! The worst was the smell. Noticed right away, when we first used the restroom in the cabins itself, that there was a slight smell of sewage. The footboards seemed a bit soft, but not obviously rotted or weak. By morning, the sewer smell was constant and noticeable in the bathroom and in the main room even with the door closed. We didn't want to spend any more time in the cabin than we absolutely had to, and were grateful we could stay busy elsewhere and only stayed two nights.

Our 1st time. We stayed at Dogwood cabin. We loved it. My dog had lots of ysrd to run. Ms. Marge was an excellent hostess. We were thrilled to get in due to someone elses cancellation. Ducks to feed, amazing sunsets. We rented a pontoon boat and had a great time. Hoping to make a family reunion every August.

We rented most of the cabins for a wedding. From the moment we arrived, Marci, Kathy, Wilber, Terry and the rest of the staff did everything to ensure a happy stay and successful ceremony. Windy and I stayed in the Edgewater cabin. It was clean and comfortable and had a rustic charm that’s hard to find today. Right on the water as well. I highly recommend a stay here to unplug, relax and enjoy the beautiful lakefront surroundings.

The folks running the camp ground are very nice ! The views are amazing !! the views are amazing ! oh did I say that twice? :) some tree work could make views from cabin better though. Fishing isn't bad in 2019 we took home a cooler full of Walleye, catching our limit everyday! This year the Walleye eluded us! but the Perch were our buddies year 2021! Spent 2 days on their Pontoon great fun wondering around the lake looking for fish and swimming. The cabin however was much to be desired :/ we didn't spend much time inside, but plan on bringing your own, non stick pans, towels including Kitchen towels or rags, extra blankets and t paper are a good bet too ! Dogwood is where we stayed this year but should be called the wasp house 🤷♀️ lots of them : / floor feels as if it is going to fall into the ground, but like I said we didn't spend much time inside so it didn't effect our stay much :) We do like Log Cabin resort Campground many good memories made ❤

First time staying here and it was very peaceful, really enjoyed sitting by the lake and the plus of WiFi. Our site was perfect with nice tree coverage but also open enough to move around. Don’t want to go home now! We will definitely be back!

Stayed her for 5 nights. Wish we could stay longer. Very clean, quiet, and convenient. Lake access was very nice during hot days. My kids had no trouble making friends. Lots of pets and surprisingly NO barking. Bathrooms were nice and the store has what you need. Close to town of you like to shop or need beer. The sites are a little on the small side but if camping is your thing, you will be next to people just like you. We hope to come back soon.

The location is beautiful. Staying in an RV or the cabins might be fine. My husband and I tent camped for a week. We do not feel a four star rating is appropriate.Initially I was charged at a higher rate than shown on the website. It was reduced upon questioning.Trash - pickup is scheduled between 9:00-9:30 where bags of trash set out at the road are picked up. There are NO trashcans available in the campground for depositing your refuse. If the trash isn't picked up quickly the seagulls get to it and spread it everywhere. Once the mess is spread, management may or may not have the inclination to pick it up.Bathroom/showers - they are located across the campground (1/10 mile) with the RV's. In the ladies, there are two toilet stalls, three hand sinks and two showers (one had a window leaned up in it limiting the space). The shower water is hot however the flow of water in the showers is minimal; enough to dribble over your head and wash but rinsing is a challenge. If someone else is showering (men's or women’s stall) the flow is reduced to nothing, you can wet a cloth and wash that way. The sink has better pressure and would be the better option if you don’t mind baring it all to the public. The bathroom trash is picked up every other day (or so) and gets filled to overflowing pretty quickly. The men's restroom has a sink for cleaning pots/dishes but not the ladies. There is no other wash-station that we saw. The men’s restroom has no ventilation meaning unpleasant odors stay for a while.Laundry - This facility (in the middle of the park) looked nice but we didn't use it.WIFI is spotty at best. In the ladies restroom there is no signal at all. They were painting the restrooms over the Memorial weekend which left hours when they were unavailable. This could have been planned much better. We will not stay here again; there are many other facilities in the area which look better suited to our comfort as a camper.

The scamp store really wasn't that big and didn't have anything but other than that everything else was really mice. The water was good and the boats were nice. The beach was small but you had a lot of water to mess around with. You had trails to either ride bikes or take a walk. It is right down the road from dollar general too which is nice.

Facility is very well kept under new management and she considers you as family instead of income. She enjoys people and is very personable and helpful. The drive thru site was perfect with concrete pad and hookups. The lake is just stunning and it was nice to go down and relax by the water and let the kids play on the beach. Near the town of curtis which is a cute little lake side town with enough restaurants to keep us happy. I will bring the family back next year. If you want to get away from the city and the giant crowded campsites this is the one for you.

Great little campground/RV/cabin park. Not super modern nor fancy, but a great deal for an easy going trip. Staff is very helpful and friendly, and prices are more than reasonable. Small beach area and an area for boat launch and slips.

Nice quiet campground. Friendly staff. We stayed for a week in a deluxe RV site. Private wooded area with Full hookup and cable for a reasonable price. Rented a pontoon from them to go out on the lake and it had everything on it we needed. We will definitely be back.

Wasn't really impressed. The bathrooms were being remodeled and repaired during peak season. The play fort was less than desired. The beach was much smaller and going under work as well. There seemed to be a supply of tires that kids would toss into the lake in some kind of game I guess because I would pull them out and later find them back in the lake. There was a portable bathroom near the lake which was convenient but the gut bucket for the fish was located next to it. Not really sure what odor was actually worse. The management from what I gathered was a family from out of state. They were polite and helpfull when they were around. The majority of the day the parents were not around and left their son who I would guess was about 12-13. The sites were smaller than anticipated but were fine enough. I think next I would rather stay at a State campground for the same cost.

The positives are that hook up through the park include cable and the wifi works well. They could use more staff....the shower house is cleaned daily, but when the park is busy, it acquires lots of sand and grass on the floor, and the trash can overflows with used paper towel because it's too small. Appears there is only one housekeeper who is also responsible to clean all the cabins after guests depart. The pull through sites are nice with cement pad and are roomy. The grass sites are tight and not very level. We also rented 4 of the cabins. Some are newer. Of the older ones we rented, one didn't have a shower, and our family went to the cabin next door to use one. The cabins are a bit of a hike to the shower house, and only contain two showers and two toilets in the ladies side. I assume the men's is the same. The grassy area in the park center is nice, and our family enjoyed the volleyball pit, the kayaks and the rowboats. We probably would choose a different place for our family reunion.

Wonderful campground and resort. The staff is all very friendly and accommodating. Dogwood has floors repaired and brand new screens on the windows. Other cabins have been updated as well with power washing, repainting, etc. New sand has been spread on the beach. Definitely coming back!!!

What a beautiful spot! A true hidden jem. 1 and only issue was because we're in a big Super C we've had some issues with sinking into the ground. If you've got a big rig consider bringing some 2x12s or something similar to distribute the weight. Other than that wow..... Absolutely will come back here if ever in the area again. Staff couldn't be friendlier also.

We asked for an open site next to our relatives and was told it was booked. We stayed from Tuesday through Monday and the open site was never occupied. We were also told we booked 2 sites and would be charged. Fortunately, the 2nd site charge was a mistake on the bookkeepers end.The night I left, another camp resident, stood in front of my car and would not let me move around her. Once I was able to navigate my car around her, she started to bang on my drivers side window. I could not move my car (my children became scared).I do not recommend this campground because of the lack of organization and the poor behaviors from the other camp occupants.

We were in ash cabin it was not redone inside. You could was your hands sitting on toilet. Barley could shut door. Bed you rolled in center of and sank. Cabin was dirty. Fruit loops on floor. Dirt in Windows nothing clean. Wasp all over. Front door wouldn't shut. Inch off. No refund for not wanting to stay our other two day. Management said they cleaned it but it was raining so it was hard to do. Then she called next day when we were out. wanted to know if we were coming back. Because she she wanted to rent out our other to days. Wasn't fun at all.

Absolutely loved this place. Will definitely be a repeat customer! You can ride quads right from your site and they had plenty of space to park extra trailers. And had pontoon boats to rent!UPDATE: We stayed there again this year! Still LOVE this place!

We stayed a week in a electric only site. Staff and owners are all very friendly. They go out of the way to make your stay comfortable. Great price on a site that is close to many attractions. Peaceful and safe location. We plan on coming back year after year to enjoy the beauty of the UP and this campground.

We were planning to stay here Wednesday thru Saturday. The cabin was in "okay" condition, but was said to accommodate 6 people. The futon was broken and VERY unstable so actually only slept 4. When we talked to the office the next day they refused to refund us the 2 nights because "I didn't know it was broken". When trying to call and question about the cabin and things that may be provided, I played phone tag for 2 weeks and still never actually spoke to anyone. Very disappointed with the way this was handled, we ended up leaving and paying for a different room somewhere else.

Love the campground. It was very full upon arrival. Lots of sights for RVs of any size, and lots of tent space. Has a laundry matte, full hookups and electric/water all priced reasonably. Sights are a mixture of pull thru and back-ins. When full, neighbors can be close. Bathroom was clean. Beach is small. Boats are available. There is a fish cleaning station. Trash pickup every morning. Relatively quiet. Camp store is lacking, but there is an ice freezer. Plenty of space for kids to run and play. Owner is a jewel of a lady. Very helpful. Campground is about 2 miles west of town. Would camp here again. Pulled a 30ft trailer with full size van.

We spent a couple nights here after crossing into the UP. Nice park with accommodations for everyone from tents to big rigs. Speaking of big rigs... mind your turns as there a few trees close to the road. Cable TV was a bonus as most sites are not satellite friendly. WiFi was strong and better than many! The owner "Bill" was friendly and helpful. We did not visit the restrooms or laundry. We stayed here in a 42' 5th Wheel.
