What a surprising gem. It is worth the stop. Amazing food, amazing customer service, and beautiful atmosphere! Everything was perfect! The salad was one of the freshest salads I’ve had in a long time. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. And the garlic mashed potatoes and the Apple crisp were wonderful!

Friendly staff, love the cabin atmosphere, and the time from ordering to getting our dinner was crazy fast. I swear it was like 5 minutes for an appetizer, side salad, and steak dinner. But speed didn't deter quality, everything was delicious and they fixed some of their own mistakes before even serving us, giving us extra food to make up for it. Good attention to detail!

We enjoyed this place, I got the local walleye and husband got the hillbilly burger. Staff was friendly and efficient and the food came out really fast. Good prices, neat atmosphere, glad we stopped here for sure.

Family of six (4 kids) enjoyed drinks, meal, and dessert for less than $75 ( that includes tip). Fries are yummy, pasta sauce house made, carrot cake yummy and my husband loved his burger. We got refills on coffee and asked for extra mayonnaise and I was so pleasantly surprised that they don’t nickel and dime you for everything- that is such a pet peeve of mine. This will be a family favorite stop when we travel west from Marquette.

On a road trip and we randomly stopped in... so glad we did. Excellent perch, walleye ... huge portions, great and friendly staff... amazing pound cake for dessert. 5 stars for sure. Stop by and enjoy

My hubby & I were getting peckish along our drive and saw the Hardwood Steakhouse so we stopped. We had the chili and a bacon cheeseburger with fries and could not have been more happy. The food was fantastic, our waitress was nice, and the locals around us were very friendly. This is exactly what we like about traveling and stopping in small town, local places!

Love this place. I currently only go here 3 to 4 times a year only because I am not a permanent resident in the area yet. Great food. The Cajun Ribeye is my go to favorite. Great bar setting. The staff is top notch and make you feel right at home. The regulars always make this establishment a fun place to make new acquaintances and share good times with friends.

This is a really nice log cabin place with great food. Worth a stop. The chicken sandwich was huge! And the homemade ranch was also amazing. :)

Mindblowingly delicious! A delightful roadside stop in an area thinly served by restaurants. We ordered the walleye dinner which was done to perfection and full-flavored without any sauce. Generous portions of decadent sweet potatoes and buttered, herbed vegetables. We also ordered the special - prime rib smothered in mushrooms and cheese on thick, hearty toast, with a pile of garlic mashed potatoes and bowl of au jus. Well worth the stop -- so happy we did!

I am from down state, out here on vacation. The food was okay. The menu said a salad bar came with my meal. Come to find out, they haven't had a salad bar since 2020. Only 2 out of the 4 steaks that were ordered at my table were cooked to order. It seemed like they were short staffed and we had to ask for everything, sometimes twice. It did have a good atmosphere and I would go there again if I am ever in the area.

Extremely disappointed in my visit here on Saturday. I was very understanding when our server said she was normally a bartender and wasn't suppose to be serving us food. But from the moment we arrived she had the biggest attitude. The place was no where near busy like a normal restaurant but she was still very overwhelmed. Gave us drinks when we said we didn't need anymore. Anytime we had a question or needed something she acted like we were asking her to do jumping Jack's. Ended up with no vegetables with 3 of our meals. Brought this up and her response was well the kitchen forgot with an attitude. Nothing taken off the bill till we mentioned something and we got $5 off. Garlic mashed potatoes had no garlic and were just plain mashed potatoes. My steak was decent. Grilled onions were burnt onions not even cut up. Dinner rolls were undercooked and mushy. I expected better when spending $200 for 4 people. Came here 3 other times food and service was amazing. Unfortunately one bad experience makes me not want to go back.

This is such a lovely venue that you cannot wait to get inside to eat. You truly expect a fine dining experience. The food is very basic. Iceberg lettuce salad, near raw bread rolls, and California blend from a freezer bag is the vegetable side. While we waited for our food, the waitress came and took our half full sodas…we assumed to refill, she never brought them back. At the table next to us, the folks dinner rolls came out after their entrees had been consumed. Very poor organization. Lots of apologies but at some point, if you can’t find enough staff to run your business…maybe it’s time to close the doors. Sad.

We gave it a try...and with one other table who already had their food and a handful of folks sitting at the bar (who already had their plates mostly devoured) .I NEVER would have thought it would have taken over 45 minutes to get an appetizer of shrimp cocktail that had six shrimps and a small container of cocktail sauce. (👎🏻) I tried the jalapeno burger...over cooked and the cheese wasn't even melted. There was no reason for the delay given other than "the kitchen had a hiccup"...

Random out-of-the-way restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Tasty food though, especially for weary travelers or locals who don't want to drive all the way to L'Anse. Varied menu, cozy interior, nice staff. Breakfast goes until the early afternoon. I'd go again if I'm in the area!
