We made a very last minute visit to Copper Harbor and were very fortunate to find overnight lodging available midweek at The Minnetonka Resort. The online reservation process worked perfectly and the in person check-in process was efficient and easy. The person who checked us in, as well as all of the staff we met, was attentive, friendly, kind, and helpful! We had two of the cabins, one of the original older 2-bedroom log cabins in the back of the property abutting the woods (#5) and a newer smaller cabin next to the main property by the wellness center (#14). Both cabins had a simple, rustic, charming, comfortable feel. #5 had two bedrooms, one larger with two beds and one smaller that were nicely separated by the kitchen/dining area. Just walking in and lying back on the beds, windows open, was so relaxing! Small kitchen areas, with plenty of room in the fridge/freezer, and tables made a wonderful place for us to gather and eat in. Outside seating made it a lovely place to enjoy the outdoors. The cabins were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. Before we checked in we were a little worried about noise given proximity to HWY 41/26, but the town settles down after sunset and the trees by open windows made it very peaceful! From the resort we were in walking distance to the waterfront, stores, and restaurants. We ate lunch out but found the cozy relaxation of our cabins so inviting that we bought some food from Glen’s grocery and ate in at the evening. There was an amazing breakfast/lunch food truck across the street for a delicious hot breakfast! It was a great place to stay for a wonderfully simplified vintage feel close to everything with the modern amenities like internet, TV, fridge, stove, microwave, great water pressure for showers, etc. needed to make it easy! A cozy gathering place with books and TV connected to the office and jam packed great gift store was an added bonus!

Old but awesome cabins. Plenty of hot water for 4 people. We played cards at the kitchen table and had plenty of room. Bed was very comfortable. Wifi worked great also. Definitely will stay again.Walkability: Everything in Copper Harbor is with walking distance!

We visited the gift shop late in the day as we arrived in the late afternoon and was waiting for the rain to finish. The lady who worked there was incredibly informative, pleasant, and exceeded any expectation we had! She showed us breakfast menus of local restaurants, instructed us where to find many tourist interests, proudly showed us her mother's artwork, and much much more. A lovely family business!

First of all, I loved this place. Definitely going back.I thought there was AC according to online description. They have limited AC units. Luckily, it wasn't too bad when we were up there and we had a box fan. So if i went back knowing it was going to be hot, Id just ask for an AC ahead of time. I'm OK unless it gets mid 90s.I really liked how the rooms were decorated. Very clean and most well kept place we stayed on this trip. Good size mini fridge. Nice TV. Separate sink and shower/potty area. Nice shower. Good water pressure, super hot. Lots of towels. Super clean. Good and free WIFI.We had to ask for stuff a bunch like towels, TP, garbage bags because housekeeping didn't seem to come by. But that's minimal compared to everything else. This is such a great location, a few blocks away from the ferry. The town has everything you need. Within a few blocks including laundry and good food, a really nice grocery. Lots of good coffee and very nice community of people here. Every one of them were wonderful to us. Copper Harbor. And the Minnetonka is right in the middle of it.The gift shop is REALLY nice. I especially liked the selection of books. Kudos to whoever curated that! I bought 4 fascinating books about the area. And the jewelry I bought on my trip, I got here. A gorgeous copper nugget necklace and aventurine bracelet. Also they have wonderfully potent candles. I got a pine one for a gift. They have clothes and all kinds of souvenirs stuff also including some beautiful moccasins that people seemed to come in for specifically. Even if you don't stay here don't miss the gift shop. The museum was not open while we were there. But if you follow the dirt road behind the hotel back through the cabins to the eastern most street leading away from the hotel the road ends and it continues onto a path that leads to the end of the next block. So there's no back street. Just a path. This is a short cut from walking down the highway. This leads to a pond and nature area just absolutely filled with wild flowers and berries. Deer sleep in the grass there. It's a stunning place to watch them graze at sunrise. There is a very nice grass path all around the pond.I don't know if i said it but every one was very very nice here and it was hassle free. I had an absolutely wonderful time.

Very nice staff, easy check in, comfy rooms. Good restaurant recommendation. Let us park for 3 days while we were on Isle Royale for free, so we saved $30 for parking at the ferry.Walkability: Walking distance to everything in town... restaurants, shops, ferry landing

We so enjoyed our little cabin. It was clean and very comfortable with all the quaintness of a cedar cabin. Only one night this time but will stay longer next visit. Beds were very comfortable which is really very important. Heartily recommend cabin 8. By the way, the bar of soap was wonderful, a great fragrance, not a cheapie like in so many other places.

They overcharged us for the room and did not give us a receipt. Everything was very shystie! . My husband got his shoulder burnt in the shower, water too hot. After confronting owner that we were charged $10 a day more then listed on the website, owner told us we got charged what the rate was when we booked it???? They did not make our beds and threw towels on a bench. The second day we got NO towels or service! Office open only 9-5. If you need anything your on your own. Such a gap under the only door we had to put pillows there to keep the cold out. There were many nicer places then we found after the fact! Thought it would be fun to stay in a cabin that owner said was totally remolded! Boy we’re we taken! Try elsewhere!

We have stayed here multiple time for our MTB trips and have never had a bad experience. The cabin (#10) has what you need to cook, relax and sleep. It's location is nice every time you come down from the trails you are back at the cabin for a snack, meal or to lick your wounds. Staff has always been super helpful, Ice machine was always full. We will stay here again.

We stayed here last summer, and loved it so much that we came back this summer too. The cabins were comfortable and well cared for, really cozy and relaxing. The bathroom this year was all new, and very nicely done. We used this as a place to stay before and after Isle Royale, and were able to park for free at the resort. All the staff members we encountered were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We will definitely come again!

Very cute cabins! Our bike broke down and they were very helpful and so nice. The owner definitely went above and beyond she even went down the road to grab us a battery charger from someone she knew. I will definitely be back and I'd recommend to them to anyone staying in town!

Old website, not a great booking experience and very dated cabins. It’s been years since any of the amenities have been updated here. Our cabin had an odd smell when arriving. Carpet, furniture and bedding in dire need of replacement.

Great cabins! Exceeded my expectations by far. I have stayed in far worse hotels for much money money.Everything in the cabin was great and the free ice at the office was a bonus! Staff was super friendly and helpful, could not have asked for a better experience.

I loved this place! Stayed in #10 with 4 double beds (2 rooms)/1 bathroom for 6 people who just spent a week backpacking Isle Royale. It was a spacious cabin with a kitchenette and great decor. You can park right next to the cottage. Close to the Queen VI and restaurants. Comfy beds and bedding.

Would have rated 0 stars if I could, not only are coffee filters not included in a stocked kitchen. The knives couldn't cut paper, let alone a pepper or chicken. The beds are 24yrs old, and beat to hell. When I informed management the response was, " we haven't had any complaints " and no refund for leaving 2 days early. Look at your beds before paying...

Cabin was comfortable but small, beds were very good and I slept well during my short stay fishing trip here. Staff was very friendly too. Would have rated it higher except that the two Wi-Fi options for the resort would not connect, so no phone or data during the stay until you can drive back south. Will stay here again if I get a chance for another fishing trip.

When I visit Copper Harbor the Minnetonka is where I stay. Their cabins are very nice and very well kept. The cost is perfect and having a kitchen available is a huge bonus. The staff is always happy to provide local insight on events and activities. I highly recommend staying here!

We stayed here on our trip to Isle Royale National Park and it was great. Clean, tidy, and they even let us leave our vehicle there while going to the island instead of having to pay the extra $30 for parking. Highly recommended
