It's a cozy place to stay. You can enjoy either tent or camping. You can rent an individual cabin or a comfy room in one of their small hotels. All locations are easy to find as everything is located off of one main road. The views are beautiful everywhere you look. The lake is fresh and clean with a couple of nice little beaches to swim at. You have a couple of different rental options as far as small boats or kayaks. There is a small gift shop and general store where you check in to receive your roomkey. After hours, you will have to go to the bartender at the Lake Effect Bar and grill to get your key. Campers can pay for their spots in the morning when the store opens up when they check in late.We stayed in the motel on the lake. Our room was on the first floor with 2 queen beds. It felt really clean. Besides needing a few updates and repairs, overall, it was a very nice place to stay.Rooms: Cozy and clean.Nearby activities: Fishing, hiking, swimming, boating, beaches, historical landmarks, waterfalls, views, etc.Safety: Felt very safe while staying there.Walkability: There are plenty of places to walk and enjoy the views. Might be difficult for those in a wheelchair or mobility issues in some locations but not all.Food & drinks: There is a general store or a bar and grill on location.Noteworthy details: Unique

Campsites don't offer much room or privacy. Our site was listed as 75 feet in length but it took a lot of finagling to get a 20 foot camper and a midsize truck to fit... Bring plenty of blocks to level your camper as the sites are not very level. Also all of the power and water for sites are at the front of the sites near the road, this only adds to complications of trying to squeeze into the sites and reaching power and water. The bathrooms and showers were nice but out of toilet paper in the men's and women's the majority of the weekend we stayed. If you have a larger camper the sites near the office would definitely be preferable as lots of people were really struggling to get into sites otherwise. Great location but definitely need pictures and good descriptions of each site on their website.

Tent camped for a week. Nice sized lot for our large tent and truck. The bath house was clean and shower always warm. You can rent boats and kayaks to go out onto Lake Fanny Hooe. Swimming beach on site as well. Lots in the back are more suitable for tents and small campers also more secluded. Front lots are open and capable of handling larger rv's. Lots to do in the area. Hiking trails, mountain biking, rock picking, exploring old mines, you name it, good location to do it all.Nearby activities: Near Fort Wilkins, Brockway Mtn., and Copper Harbor.Walkability: Easy and short walk into the town of Copper Harbor.

Campsites are smaller than we expected when using the map for reference. We have a large 5th wheel and we were squeezed between 2 other rvs. Also having problems with electric as the hookup is quite a distance from the rv and we keep blowing breakers. The receptor for the cord was loose and when we plugged in there were sparks. The location was great, we were able to drive to a lot of very scenic locations from there but the lake view at the park was taken up by the hotel. For a place to park and sleep it works fine but we were very disappointed that we couldn't use our appliances without blowing breakers and when we were ready to leave we had to use manual crank and manual jacks to hook up to our truck to go home. We were ready to leave at 10 am but didn't get hooked up until noon when we finally were able to raise the 5th wheel enough to hook up. 1st time we've ever had that problem and we've had the 5th wheel for 7 years. Their electric needs a serious upgrade or they shouldn't be changing the same rates as parks that have full services.

This was a very nice, clean, and affordable camp ground. We tent camped there which was very comfortable. The site was clean and freshly raked. The fire pit was cleaned out.The only improvements might be to have another restroom available for when the restrooms are being cleaned. We also felt like we were a bit cramped together with the other camp sites so that we could almost hear their conversations and what they were doing next to us.

Most sites are very very VERY small. Bathrooms seem to be clean until it got busy on the weekend, then they were very muddy and lots of standing water. Looks like they were only cleaned once a day but during rain and as it got busy, they need to be cleaned more. Front desk was friendly and helpful. They rake and pick up sites prior to arrival and maintenance was great. The worst- laundry room. Expensive to wash and dry, $2. Very old and outdated equipment that didn't dry well. Only half of the machines worked and others took my money. Sign on the wall said no refunds. WiFi only worked about 40% of the time.Walkability: Short walk into copper harbor

As a full time RV family, this RV park has the service that goes beyond the normal stay. They are very welcoming, informative, and kind to meet all your needs. They have recently expanded their camp ground to accommodate larger rigs, however make sure you pay attention to the site amenities as some don't offer sewer. Their service here is on a five star level all way till your departure, where they meet you at the exit to very every is well, anything they can improve, and to wish you well on your way.

Disgusting, NO A/C. We were charged for two nights in advance, waited 2 hours for room, only to find, Smelly, no A/C. Our friends room had no windows to the outdoors, our room had a small window, but no screen. Dirty rooms, too bad you can't take pictures of the smell. Don't waste your money. We were not comfortable with the conditions, so we requested one night refund, we each paid for one night, even though we left. We're afraid because of my review, our friends will not get their one night's refund.

Beautiful setting that is close to many trails and within walking distance to the main drag. The office people were friendly and very helpful. Our site allowed us to feel secluded and away from others. Clubhouse has a shared bathroom and showers which were kept up. I wish they offered more full hook up sites. Overall, it was a nice place to stay for a couple of days.

We booked our stay here 7 months in advance for a full hookup RV site, which they made us pay in full for in advance !When we arrived we did not receive a full hookup site, only electric and water. We also found that they did the same to many others RVer’s ! WE would recommend that you try to book at the state park a short drive from there. They only have a few FHU sites so, don’t be lied to like we were. Yes, we stayed for our whole time reserved, we were not going to let this ruin or vacation.

Stayed here on site 52. Sites are extremely small and tight!! I have a 31 ft motorhome with 2 slideouts. Had just enough room to park the motorhome and put my awning out. Placed my jeep perpendicular in front of the motorhome. There was maybe 8 feet behind the motorhome with the firepit. The firepit was 8 feet from the neighbors firepit. Pretty cozy for a nice relaxing fire, not! Forget about wifi. It is so slow when it works and it doesn't work all the time. While we were there a worker came through and moved the boundary stake even closer into our site!! He stated someone had moved it, implying we did. The site is right across from the restrooms and I had to ask someone to please move their car so we could pull out to leave. This place was recommended by some friends. We will be letting them know the condition of this place. Cost was $65.00/night for the site and had only water and electricity.

We camped there for three days. Didn't really have to hike far to the bathrooms and loved that they had showers. There was a small waterfall we were able to walk to see n a Lil creek right behind our campsite that made for some good pitlctures!Nearby activities: Fort Wilkins and the Delaware mine aren't far away.

Filthy !! Found an old water bottle on the floor by the dresser and a pair of shoes in the corner. Confirms that the floor hadn’t even been vacuumed between guests. What else hadn’t been cleaned? Terrible musty smelling. Half the bulbs in the bathroom were burnt out. No WiFi and no landline phone either. Their Ad said they had cell service - did NOT. None anywhere on the property that we walked to trying to get reception.“Resort” - what a joke. Office was closed so couldn’t ask about it or even get an extra clean towel. Couldn’t wait to get out of there early the following morning.Noteworthy details: Having NO cell service was disturbing since we couldn’t check in with our kids. If we had an emergency, there was no way to call for help. For an overnight emergency there was no contact.

Staying at the lake motel room 22.... First thing you walk into the room and it smells like stail ciggoretts! With a room that says no smoking.... We decided to have a shower after our long trip 9 hour drive..... The shower was less than Luke warm.. mostly cold and no heat at all kept changing from less than Luke warm to freezing cold... The water pressure is abysmal... Fast forward to bed time.... plugging in phones to charge lol they kept falling out of the power sockets. Beds felt like sleeping on a torture device woke up in the morning massively in pain husband bearly slept neither did I....*The good stuff: The lake is very beautiful. Can't hear anything from neighbours walls are solid. Bathroom and room appeared to be clean. Little bar fridge included and TV, not far from main road and local restaurants.

First and last night at Fanny Hooe. Our travel trailer site is terrible - #43. So much so that we could not get the trailer level, the water and electric hook up was on the site next to ours. Our water hose would not reach and we had to throw our electric cord through the bushes. So, we ended up going out for dinner which we did not budget for. We could not have a camp fire or use the picnic table because the site was so narrow. A campfire in their pit would have set the trailer on fire. We had to park our truck on the road and getting into our trailer was pushing branches away from the door. All this for $70 a night. Office was closed when we got back from dinner so we will ask for our money back tomorrow.

This is our second time staying for a week. Will return and stay again. Our dogs are welcome here and seem to relax. The sites further away from the bath house offer nice privacy and are quiet!Nearby activities: Everything in Copper Harbor is within walking distance.Noteworthy details: Clean bathrooms and showers. Laundry facilities on site is a plus for longer stays. Good variety of campsites that are open (great when traveling with a group) and sites with privacy.

Cabin is very old, but quaint. Lots of promised amenities had to be requested, rather than provided readily. Cable TV was NOT WORKING. Views of Lake were SPECTACULAR.Unfortunately, the owner's dogs were walked or allowed to run freely around the cabins and motel, and no one cleaned up after them. Dog feces were all over the property, making walking treacherous.A lovely spot, which needs a better crew to care for it. I understand that it is hard to find good help anywhere.

Older motel that could use some remodeling. The handicapped accessible amounted to s portable ramp that was a touch steep. Clean but small for a wheelchair. Promised to remove one bed for more mobility but that didn't happen. The setting is beautiful with deer and Canada geese. Location is great. Could be a great facility with some investment and imagination.Walkability: Close to main street and restaurants and bars.

The biggest perk for this resort when camping is the fact that you can ride your ORV direct from your site to the trails. The wooded sites are very small and hard to get any size camper into. We had two tents and didn't have room for much else on our site. That being said, they do list the sizes of the sites on their website, I suggest looking into it before picking a site. The clubhouse is outdated, but still charming. There is zero cell service and minimal wifi offered in/near the clubhouse (which is kind of the point of Copper Harbor in general). There is a playground for the kids, a camp store on the property as well as boat rentals and a swimming beach. The beach was overrun with goose poop while we were there so we didn't do any swimming (not that the park can help where the geese poop). All of downtown Copper Harbor is within walking distance including restaurants and small grocery/gift shops. I do wish that they had some activities planned for little ones in the clubhouse, it would be a great way to utilize the space, and provide entertainment to the little people staying. Overall a nice resort, that could use a little updating to give it that edge over the state park down the road.

Just spent a week at Fanny Hooe Campground and it was amazing! The campsites are clean and level and while they aren’t super spacious, you’re not crammed in either. There was plenty of room for our 40 ft fifth wheel. The bath house and laundry were conveniently located and well kept. What makes this place so awesome is the location. You are within walking distance to downtown and a bike ride away from several trails and attractions. Lake Fanny Hooe is on site and you can swim or rent one of the boats to explore this magical place. Our favorite thing to do in the evenings was just to sit down by the lake and take it all in. The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming and all our neighbors were very nice. There are so many cool places to see and things to do nearby. This is a perfect home base to enjoy Copper Harbor and the surrounding area.

45 bucks a night for a campsite and thwy can't share photos of what they even look like. Our site by Garden Brook was a big slant with a huge hole where the firepit sat. A little dirt and leveling would go a long way in fixing this particular site up.Also, the bathrooms were absolutely atrocious. Overall, WE made our week what it was and didn't let the rough conditions dictate how it would be.********EDIT********We spoke to the girl in the office the second day of our stay. She shared with us that they've been having a rough time getting help. We are really understanding of that and get it. We absolutely made the best of our stay despite the challenge of not having a great site. We will stay again but now that we know the layout a little better, we will choose our next site accordingly.

Update.... 3 years later and we have fallen back in love with our favorite home away from home. The new owners are wonderful and are working to breath new life into the place. Not the place we've come to know and love. The feeling of being welcome is gone. I don't who the people are that run it now, but they seriously don't make you feel as welcome as the last ppl. Don't think we will ever camp there again after many years of making them our go to resort.

Very convenient campground. On beautiful Lake Fannie Hooe. Resort, but no amenities, except a small beach and kayak rental. Walk to Copper Harbor, bike trails, state park, Fort Wilkens and overall a very nice location.Sites are a bit awkward and some are crowded, which isn't to bad, as I've seen worse. But, if you need wifi, be prepared for the worse wifi you may have ever had at a campground that advertises wifi. Our cell Sprint and Verizon non existent. Unless the campground is empty, you won't have any wifi access. They should upgrade and put in some repeaters or pay for a faster service. It's incredibly slow and basically non existent if the campground is full. Campground emptied out one day we were there and I could finally use my computer, but still slow. They warn you about the utilities on their website, take that warning seriously. Bring extra electric cord and water hoses. We used a 50 ft electric cord extension, our 30 foot was no where near long enough. Our electric outlet is in the rear of the trailer. We used just under 50 feet for water.Sights are a little uneven, but we were able to level with our Anderson level chalk's. Water does collect when it rains, but did seem to dry up reasonably quick. Fire pits awkwardly placed and to close to the trailer for our comfort. In back and to the right of our trailer. Not on patio side. So we never used the fire pit. Picnic tables are small, which was fine with us, but a family with several children might have an issue with dining outside.Campground was clean, utilities worked well and we had a fantastic stay. Since they're the only campground in the area with hook-ups we will definitely stay there again. I just won't plan on trying to get some work done or internet connection. Kind of nice disconnecting anyway, but be prepared for that. Loved Copper Harbor.

Campground has a variety of sites with the ones in the woods more for tents and smaller RV’s and the more open sites for the larger rigs. Very few sites had sewer connections but there is a dump station. Had an issue with my electrical connection so talked to the maintenance team. Within a few minutes they were at my site installing a new circuit breaker and outlet. I was impressed with their responsiveness and heard similar stories from other campers. Zero cell phone service in the Copper Harbor area. Good Wifi in the clubhouse area that doesn’t reach the entire park. The town is small and walkable from the campground.

If staying at a modern, updated resort is really important to you, then this is probably not your place. However, if you want a reasonably priced, clean resort, then I think you will be happy. The rooms were outdated in decor, but the carpet was in great shape and the room was clean. It was quiet and we were very comfortable. The resort does offer boat/kayak rentals though we didn't use them as we were only there a day. The woman at the office was very friendly and helpful. One thing about Copper Harbor is that you will not have cell service which is frustrating. The resort offers free WiFi, yet we got very poor WiFi service there and it would be very slow and drop constantly so we didn't bother to use it. To be fair, I don't know if that was because of our phones (we have Droids) or our cell service (Verizon) but we didn't get to use our phones while there. All in all, we were happy with our stay, as it doesn't bother us to stay in an outdated room as long as it is clean.

I really enjoyed our stay here. The campground was clean, and we even saw maintenance folks tidying up campsites during the day after people had left. The bathrooms were clean, showers were provided, as well as very well maintained bathrooms. We stayed in the tent portion of the campground which to me, seem to be fairly crammed in there, but all in all a very nice place to camp. The campsite is literally inside of downtown Copper harbor, but it feels like you are in the middle of the woods when you're there. If you have a camper, the campsites are also very nice. There is a playground and Open spaces for people to hang out and have fires. I would definitely stay here again. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, and one of the staff members even messaged me about late arrival instructions, because we we're running late and hadn't checked in before the office closed. All in all the great stay. Thank you!

First of all you are in COPPER HARBOR. If you are looking for wifi and cable you should stay below the bridge. Read the campgrounds amenities page there is no 50 amp. I can't understand why people come all the way up here then complain they don't have services like at home. The staff seems to be extremely helpful and friendly so I think people complaining about them, must have given attitude in the first place. It's a older campground I'm sure built way before slide outs and 40 ft. plus rigs. Yes some of the sites are small so look at the map and call before you book, it's not that hard. The park is quiet and a easy walk to town and it gets really quiet after about 7pm town included. We have stayed here many times and will continue to. All the sites have picnic tables and yes some are dirt but they are in the woods ,get lots of use and little sun just like many state park sites. The only thing I would like to see is upgrading fire rings, the old truck wheels are small and hard to cook on. The views are great there is good food close by and many places and things to explore that are family friendly.
