My hubby and I stayed here about 2 years ago. There wasn’t a frig or microwave, and the rooms are way….outdated, overpriced, need to be redesigned and improved with frig, coffee pot & micro!!! I would have thought with the prices they charge they would have remodeled by now! And if you want to go to their beach, you need to dodge all the goose poop in the yard! Our room was clean but old. However the area is absolutely beautiful! If you ever want to sell or want a honest business partner contact me! I’d love to do a deep remodel/update of that place and make it a place people enjoy coming to!Ed & Cathy Zimmerman, Portage, MIWalkability: Most of the village and sights are within walking distance.

the rooms in this hotel are very outdated and sorely in need of complete renovation. We were there in mid October. Room had many flies (when we arrived. we did not let the flies in the room)., bathrooms were dirty, sink falling off the wall, no caulking. Hard to say whether the carpets were filthy or not clean as they are so old. Stay somewhere else in Copper Harbor as this place is not worth the price even at half the cost.

Location beautiful right on the harbor and near hiking and biking trails. Service fantastic-staff were helpful and kind. Rooms are simple. No frig, mircowave, or central air. There was a portable air conditioner unit. And there is microwave at main office.Stayed two nights. First night was nice and quiet. Second night, which was a Friday, with noisy guests. But they were having a good time, and I go to bed early.WiFi slow, but it forced you to be one with nature and take a break.

The room was comfortable enough, we would have preferred an in-room microwave (a chilly day called for soup which we couldn't make (they have Keurig coffee and not a pot to heat water)).The location is what you pay for, and it was absolutely fantastic, right on the water with spectacular views and moments away from anything in Copper Harbor. I would certainly recommend staying here, just be mindful that additional wall plugs are sparse (one by the bed, the next about 10' away). The staff were friendly and accommodating.I imagine that most folks traveling here would be perfectly happy staying here, and given the location and views, find themselves in for a nice and cozy treat!Food & drinks: 30 second walk over to the bakery that opens at 7AM makes mornings extra pleasant.

This motel leaves much to desire. Very dated, despite recent renovation. There is no air conditioning. The bathroom was very dated and floors disgusting. The huge sliding door that lead to the lakefront kept coming off the track and was a fight everything. There also was no locking mechanism for the screen or glass door. There is a lot of public traffic that wonders onto the property due to the docks and waterfront. It was unease to sleep due to this.

A very clever setting means every room has a gorgeous lake view -- a real treat at the end of a day on the road. Fun places to eat or get a beer are a short walk (including a great coffee shop/bakery right on the water). Room was spanking clean and very spacious -- a homey vibe like staying at a friend's house. Wifi was a bit iffy if that's really important to you, but got the job done for us. A really nice stay.Walkability: Lots of pleasant waterfront spots to walk to.

Spent a week in late August, quiet and peaceful, you can spend the day listening to the waves of lake Superior, or explore the Keweenaw. As this was my wife and my first visit to the area, the staff, and many locals were very helpful with directions to local attractions not on a map.You are close to Brockway Mountain, a must see, just for the view, M 26, due the beautiful lake shore drive with many scenic stops.I highly recommend, and we will return

We were disappointed with our stay. It was a good location right on the lake front. Their wasn't any refrigerator, microwave or ice included with the room. Ice was available but cost $4 a bag. With the price of the room we paid I feel it should have been included. The bathroom sink would not drain the water out. There was dust, cobwebs and crumbs on the floor. We were charged a food tax but not sure what that was for. Coffee was available in the office but their were no cups for it. Bed was very uncomfortable.

Motel has best location in town. My room was clean, bed comfortable, the small fridge was convenient since few breakfast options in town. Definitely dated and not for everyone but a fair value. New owner added communal morning coffee, so nice to have. I’ll be staying here again.

Good location, however mistake was made..we didn't get the room or bed we reserved with the gentleman i made the reservation with. Be aware that there are actually 2 motels cose to ea.other with the other one that we reserved and did not end up staying at being the nicer of the 2 and is very close to water. You have to call to reserve. Would be a good idea to request a confirmation email after you reserve so you get what you want. I complained about not getting the room i reserved but the young lady I spoke with said that there was nothing they could do as rooms were all booked up. We stayed for a few nights , this is why i reserved a bigger room and with a king bed.Its not worth the rates they charge. Also no coffee maker no microwave in the room they ended up giving us. So plan and be prepared, unless those things are not important for your stay. Definitely will not be back to this motel. It's a pretty area tho.

We stayed for one night in early August and had a great experience. The room was clean, our AC unit in our room worked great (+ they provided an oscillating fan as well), and we had an amazing view of the lake! We really enjoyed having a patio out back to sit and watch the sunset. Ladies bring a hair dryer if you need it because there is not one-luckily I planned for that. & I would also recommend bringing your own shampoo/conditioner. Overall good experience and would stay again.

Great location for catching the ferry to Isle Royale National Park. In fact its just a two minute walk away or if you just come for the beautiful lake views this is a great location. The management treated us so good and were always helpful. There are some very good places to eat just a minute away and a nice souvenir/gift shop just across the street. We would stay again!

this place is “old school” and fits its location perfectly. well maintained and clean with water views. didn’t need an air conditioner with the ample crank windows and quiet pole fan for ventilation. provided fly swatter came in handy. loved having a front door and a back door with outdoor seating. would stay again.

Kind of a step back in time - with some modern amenities and updates thrown in. Beds were comfy, lots of TV choices, and nice outdoor "patio" facing the courtyard.Centrally located to everything. Nice views of the bay into Lake Superior from our patio.

Our stay started with a half hour wait to check in after driving for about 11 hours. We paid the few extra dollars to be right on the water. Our room had no a/c or fridge and was as dark as a dungeon with all the lights on. The room was clean for the most part but desperately needs to be updated. The ice machine was unusable without a hammer and chisel. The view however was priceless, you won't find better in Michigan. Everyone you run into in town are kind and helpful.

Love it! Total vintage vibes. Clean and cozy! Friendly staff. Lake is ACTUALLY right there and so is the ferry. 10/10 would stay again.
