Perfect stay along US-2! The beach across the road is well groomed and the view is stunning. Rooms were very clean and well kept. My wife and I even made s'mores at the fire pit. There's a gas station and small store around the corner. The hosts are some of the most kind and genuine people I think I've ever met. We would certainly stay here again!

This place is a gem! It's a classic old-fashioned road-trip motel that has been newly remodeled. It's clean, comfortable with all kinds of lovely little touches and right across the road from a wonderful sand beach on Lake Michigan. There's a great place to eat breakfast within walking distance. It has the NICEST owners who made us feel so welcome.. And it's pet-friendly to boot. We loved it!

One of my new favorite places to stay while in the UP! I travel to the UP often and try to find new and different places to stay, always preferring locally owned. I decided to extend my trip this time around and chose to stay here, basically because of the moose. Silly I know, but I love moose and it just looked so cute! Well I was absolutely not disappointed and ended up staying a second, separate night during my trip (they were booked the next night). The owners are wonderful, the rooms are clean and updated, and I just love the decor! The private beach right across the road was a huge added bonus as I had no idea until I booked the room and the views were spectacular! I will absolutely be staying here again in the very near future!

We would give this place 10 stars if we could. We traveled from Taylor Michigan for our daughters softball tournament and we were blown away by the service and cleanliness of this place. Anything we needed they provided right away. They were beyond friendly and made the environment so much fun for us. We may be partial because we love moose decor but everything was very modernized and very welcoming. The beach was just a few steps over the highway and was also very clean and well kept. Even if it’s just a couple nights, this is the place to stay. We look forward to coming back in the future. Thank you so much for everything 😀

We stayed for a romantic weekend away. I also had a surprise proposal in the works. The owners were very accommodating and even wrote my fiancé a message in the sand, took video of the proposal, and helped coordinate and plan the entire weekend. They had great recommendations for places to visit. The private beach also has the best sand out of any beach I’ve visited in Michigan.Rooms: The rooms are adorable. They smell fresh and clean. The furniture is comfortable. The beds are perfect!Nearby activities: Kitch-iti-kipiFayette State Park

This is a great little gem off of Route 2 near Cooks, MI. The couple that own the place were top shelf! Very friendly and informative. Made you feel at home. Great location to be able to easily travel north, east or west on main roads. Tyelene's Diner next door is a must for breakfast. The price is right for a night's stay here. You have a nice firepit for an evening fire. Access to a nice grill to make food. Corn hole boards...it's all here. What a great idea here. This is our new annual trip spot. 5 stars all day.

Great Roadside Motel. You're never sure when booking one, but this one will not disappoint! Very clean updated rooms, great King size bed (in the room we rented). Huge TV and nice outside area. Great area to sit outside, fire pit, picnic tables and some outdoor games available. The best part that was a suprise (even though it's on the website) is the private beach across the road! Pictures don't show how clean and manicured they keep it. There are some chairs and tables there as well. The water is shallow for quite aways out, making it a perfect place for even small children to play. There is a small breakfast/lunch place next door and a fun Micro brewery (Latulip brewery) a couple miles down the road. They have some really good pizzas as well. We will for sure stay again when we are the area!

Beautiful, convenient location, right along the bay with private beach access. The room was clean and updated. My favorite part, no carpet (because let’s be honest, carpet is gross)! The owners are incredibly kind and go above and beyond with accommodations, including lending us supplies that I had forgotten to pack for our trip. Thanks for everything Mike and Katie! We will definitely return.

This review is long overdue! We were there at the end of Sept. What a beautiful setting, and a great room. The owners went way out of the way to accommodate us. We had probably the best fish fry ever at the restaurant next door...and the chocolate pie was beyond excellent. Beautiful beach across the rdCan't wait to get back. It will forever be on our list to stay at, and to recommend.

Awesome little family owned getaway! Beautiful rooms with a beautiful view of the Bay. The beach is across the road, set up with everything you need for a day escape. Staff is VERY welcoming, almost like family themselves. There is a firepit, a large swing, a grill for use, and all with a view! They have standard rooms and extended stay rooms! The nearest town is Manistique to the East and Escanaba to the West, so grab what you need beforehand, and you will never want to leave this beautiful place. There is a small store open until 5pm and dollar store up the road, but that's about all. I will definitely be back again for a longer stay!!

After a horrible experience down the road at another motel, this was a nice close find for the night. A little bit pricey, the room was sandy, but it was filled with hospitality needs. All the hygiene little bottles, coffee and tea. A huge downfall was the check out time being 10 am. for us Wisconsin folks was extremely early. But they let us stay an extra hour free of charge since we checked in so late.

Husband and I went on a very long over do vacation,didn't plan for a place to stay. Call here and they got us right in, The owners were amazing, super friendly pointed us to attraction close to the area. Beautiful beach view of Lake Michigan, fire pit right up by the Lake. Definitely planing another trip and will stay there again. Thanks Mike and Katie!Rooms: Spacious rooms, clean and comfortable love the fact there was no carpet floors were super nice!

We enjoyed our stay at the Moose resort. Our room was so clean and freshly painted, bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept in, big screen TV, nice size refrigerator in the room, ect.. it was definitely one of the nicest, cleanest places we've stayed, and we'll be going back! The beach is very well maintained, and the owners, Mike and Katie are very accommodating. Can't wait to stay again!

A beautiful place to stay for a few days or a weeks vacation.. Mike and Katy are wonderful, very accommodating. Great view of Lake Michigan, a very good clean, sandy beech. The restaurant next door is very convenient and the food and service are great. This is one of my favorite places to visit whenever I'm in the Upper Peninsula. We had to stay here as we had some appointments in the Nahma and Rapid River area and we couldn't have been happier. This was so much nicer than expected. The rooms were beautifully remodeled with all kinds of nice touches, SUPER comfortable high end beds, television, air purifier, etc. Super friendly service. Very clean! We would happily stay here for passing through or vacation. The view was beautiful too!

What an amazing experience for my family. We have small kids and don’t travel often as they are very busy. Mike & Katie accommodated our whole crew in such A way that impacted them in such a positive manor. Our girls can’t wait to go back to see them and enjoy everything they have to offer.The rooms were beautiful and comfy. When I say they are immaculate these rooms were cleaner than any top dollar 5 star Hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Wifi connection was on point as my husband had to work in our room for two days. They had everything to accommodate us in every aspect. The beach was well groomed and a great place to hangout. From the volleyball net, picnic tables, toys for the kids and just pure cleanliness all around we will be back many more times!If you are looking for a getaway to explore the UP we highly suggest Moose Resort! Best family memory in the books by far!

Moose Resort is hands down the best place I have ever stayed at in the UP. Picked this place to stay on whim while on a fishing trip. It’s a great location (right across the street from the bay - also has awesome sunset views).The owners are seriously amazing! They treated me to such a warm welcome when I arrived. They went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the room and accommodations and the parking spot for my boat (this is an especially big deal to a traveling fisherman).The room was super nice. It had an outstanding decor (freshly renovated - very rare in the UP) and the bed very was comfortable (also very rare). I slept great. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. This place is an absolute gem.

We booked Moose Resort back in April and just completed our week-long stay that began the Sunday just before the 4th of July. Mike and Katie were so friendly, the rooms (we booked the UP Kitchen Hideaway- so it was a kitchen/living room, a bedroom, and a bathroom) were clean, bright, and very comfortable. The across the street across to the beach was convenient and beautiful. We were able to drop our jetski in just a few feet down the road and drive right up to the beach. We even ate dinner on the beach one night! We will definitely be standing guests here each summer. 😊

Just finished staying at the Moose Resort and the place was awesome!!! Rooms are updated and veryclean. GREAT beach!!! The owners Mike and Katie are wonderful, friendly, and provided us with great attractions and places to see in the area (Fayette Historic State Park, and Kitch-iti- kipi Springs to name a couple). Also after 51 years of living in Michigan I saw a live black bear just up the road. Definitely the best place I have stayed at in the U.P. Already planning our return trip.6/29/2023Just finished a nine day, 2794 mile motorcycle trip out west and finished our trip with another great stay at the Moose Resort -Extended Vacation!!! This place was hands down the best place we stayed on the trip!!! The rooms are spotless, beds comfortable, and the owners are AWESOME!!! Thanks for another great stay!!!

This is a great place to stay. They go above and beyond customer service. I recently stayed at the lodge. On the way there my car broke down 63 miles from the lodge. There were 5 in our party and AAA said that the tow truck driver would not be able to take all to the location, Mike drove to our location and picked up my family and took them to the lodge with stopping at a supermarket on the way. I traveled with the vehicle and when I arrived, Mike took a quick look at the vehicle and told me what was wrong. The next day I called to get the parts to fix my car and Mike drove me to the store and back twice and helped me repair the issue. They were very nice and understanding. The rooms were great. I would not hesitate to book another stay with them.

My family and I where needing a place to stay and just happened to come across this place.Thought let's give it a try. It was great. Asked the owners where a good place to eat was they told us, we went to our room and about 15 minutes latter my phone rang it was the owners and they invited us to eat with them. We accepted and it was great food was good conversation was good. Great place to stay if your needing a place.

Very hospitable owners, very charismatic and upbeat people. They care for the beach (across the highway) and have a volleyball net, at least 3 picnic tables, and a couple of nice lawn chairs over there, plus it is the best stretch in that area to swim. Our kids went out at least a 100 yards and they were up to only their knees. There's wooden furniture on the motel property side of the highway with bean bag toss, fire pit, and even a gas grill. We stayed at the white motel next door on our last fishing charter..... The Moose Lodge is WAYYYY cleaner and up to date. Highly recommend if you're in this area.

My son and I had an excellent stay! We booked our stay at the last minute, sight unseen, no recommendations, so didn't expect anything too special. However, from the moment we met the owners and checked in we felt as though we were staying with good friends. The service was fantastic, kind, thougtful and very accommodating. The rooms, newly renovated, were clean, very comfortable, quaint, homey, made good use of space. Right across the street from the motel is a nice public beach on Lake Michigan. The sunsets in view from the motel or park were as amazing as any on the great lakes, maybe even more so.So, the motel itself was very nice but what made our stay so great was the owners!

Stayed at the Moose for a few days while fishing the UP. When we arrived we were greeted by what may have been the nicest woman I have ever encountered. She was sweet, helpful, beyond accommodating, and made us feel very welcome. The room was immaculate, extremely clean, well laid out, and had a great view. The bed was also extremely comfortable. Overall made our experience wonderful and will definitely be staying again in the future!

We just stayed here from 5/7/21 through 5/10/21. Room was cozy and clean. Right across the road from the beach so view was excellent and able to walk the beach was a huge plus. Within driving distance from so many adventures. Tylenes next door was a great little diner. Anya was very accommodating and gracious, a treat to chat with. We would highly recommend the Moose Resort. We will certainly be going back. Thanks Anya!!!
