I've been going to the Beach Bar for 44 years and have seen a lot of changes. One thing that hasn't ever changed is their consistent delivery of great food with friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere. Their Ocean Beach Ice Tea is the best I've ever had.

I’ve been coming to the Beach Bar for years. However, since I have discovered I am gluten sensitive, the Beach Bar is no longer a great choice. Unless I want to eat salad. I called and asked about alternatives, and that was what I was told: salad and maybe some of the soup. Really??? Nowadays what really good pizza place doesn’t have a gluten free option? Even a gluten free sub for sandwiches would be appreciated. I guess I will not be making the ride out to Clark Lake to meet family and eat pizza anytime soon.

So after a long day I decided not to cook So we ordered1 chicken oriental salad1 skinny dip they forgot the Au jus1 hobo sandwich2 tomatoe soups2 clam chowder you get a bag of chip's and a pickle with the sandwich when my husband got home and said it was $90.00 for that I was blown away you know I get thing's have gone up but that much I called the manager to tell him about the Aujus he gave me a gift card which was super great but still I even sent a note with my husband saying double check the order and they assured my husband everything was good except for the main part of the skinny dip I'll get something eles with the gift card but after that for $90.00 I will go to the store and get a couple steaks and the rest and still probably won't be that much!And you should offer some type of bread with your salads like the other review the portion size doesn't match up with the price!

The Beach Bar is one of Irish Hills' best examples of why Michigan's Irish Hills is a gem.On the surface, it's a well maintained family style restaurant that specializes in pizza. Right below the surface, it's a true center if gravity for a friendly community.Carefully look around, and you'll notice unique and fun art created by local artists. Look at the walls, and you'll see staff photos from years gone by. Check out the trophy shelves, and you'll see a celebration of multiple generations of friends, family, and neighbors.The food is always reliable. On a cool fall ir winter day, I always recommend you start with their tomato bisque. I haven't had a better tomato soup in Michigan.this is real comfort food.The place is w few miles away from the MIS, so if uour looking for a place to meet friends before or after on race day, this is a good place to duck into and avoid traffic.Check out the website to learn if you'll be there when they have a live band or if you're truly lucky, you'll witness the world famous hermit crab races. Super fun for the family (and you may find your child taking home a hermit crab).Just an A+ place in my book.

Service great. Decor is great. Food not so much. Apparently the pizza is popular, but it's horrible. The rest of the food is mediocre at best. Reuben is probably the best thing we tried.

I've always liked the Beach Bar, as you probably already know, they have the best tomato soup you can get. A big bowl of it is $5.00 and so worth it. I've had the Cranberry Walnut Turkey sandwich and it's very very good. Prices here are moderate, not cheap but not expensive.I've had their pizza and was pretty unimpressed, it wasn't very good the one time I had it. And when my wife and I visited on a sunny June day in the afternoon, we went outside and sat down, and a server told us politely they don't take orders from the patio, but we could order to go and go outside to eat. We went inside, that was a weird situation but oh well.Always clean, always busy, usually great food. Glad to have them in the area.

We were taken back to our seat within a few minutes of arrival BUT the hostess walked so far ahead of us that we lost sight of her. She never looked back to see where we were. We noticed she was dropping off menus at a table across the room, which we assumed was ours. She didn't wait for us to follow and was gone before we sat down. We witnesses this behavior with 'every party' she sat. She deserves a "0" rating.Our waitress, on the other hand, did an AMAZING job checking in on us throughout the meal, providing our food timely, refilling our drinks, and anticipating our needs (bill, box to go). She deserves a 5+ rating.Both are food choices were delicious. We shared a bowl of their tomato soup as an appetizer, as it's a MUST when you eat here.Hoping that the hostess has a better day as she definitely appeared to not want to be there (~5:20 pm 10/14/23).

This is a really nice place to eat and drink. Their taco pizzas and Ruben pizzas are super good. Personal favorite would be the Ruben pizza. They have great outdoor seating with views of the lake. They also have a nice stage for summer weekend nights. The only reason for 4 stars is because if you sit outside and they don't have service, you have to order take out from inside and there is a $4.60 charge for take out orders. This charge is not disclosed before ordering either so I was shocked. Kind of a ridiculous charge if you are eating there and also buying drinks for their bar.

We have been coming to the beach bar on and off for years. Our last experience left much to be desired. The gazpacho soup was a joke. It was beyond watery and bland. The pizza was so thin and the crust so soggy that you couldn’t even lift it off the plate it was so limp. We truly finished our meal and had to go for a second dinner down the road.The service was pretty good overall. My sister in law was quite fumed about hot tomato soup being handed to the table overtop her toddlers head. Other than that the server was good and the manager removed the soup from the bill.The atmosphere is always great… I hope the food can get back to the quality it was years ago.

I was thoroughly impressed with the Beach Bar. The atmosphere was great. The size of the inside caught me by surprise! It looks recently renovated and/or well kept. Service was very good, as was the food and drinks. I will definitely return!Parking: Tons of parking space when I was there. Not sure how busy it gets in the heat of summer yet.Wheelchair accessibility: This place seemed very accessible for all. I don't recall any steps from the parking lot to any of the tables.

Unbelievably slow service with how few people were there. No refills on water we finished before the meal even came out. Took 40 minutes to get 2 sandwiches they put sauce on that had been requested to be on the side. Also all kinds of signs about punishing employees for being on their phone, it's not working other places that let their employees be on their phone provide much better service the phones are clearly not the issue.

I like the summers better, sitting outside near the water, but the inside is nice too. Good selection of beverages and food. Last time I got the southwest chicken wrap and it was very tasty. Friendly staff. This is one of our regular spots. I hear their pizza is amazing but I haven't had it yet.

We had our first meal of the season last night and I was looking forward to their awesome pizza....well, it was no where near awesome! It was not even hot AND so tiny for a small I thought I ordered the kid size...$16.00 for Hawaiian pizza...just sad. Husband had sandwich and same...nothing to it! Come on....so disappointed.

Hello,The customer service was absolutely terrible. I wish I didn’t give them any of my business and will not go back what so ever. Don’t give them your business or you will be disappointed. The owner was very disrespectful and body shamed my friends. They are insecure now. The food took way too long for the price of $80 and it wasn’t even that good. I’d rather go to eagles nest and it’s worth the wait. They don’t discriminate. How do we live in a society where the owner of a restaurant thinks it’s okay to discriminate young teenage girls.

After a nice hike at The Dahlem Conservancy near Jackson and a few wine samples at nearby wineries, this place was a good spot for dinner. It was a busy Saturday night but we were seated right away. Lots of families and folks having a good time. Our server, Holly M, was very attentive and our drinks and food came out quickly. I enjoyed the clam chowder and a tuna melt and my wife said her Rueben was very good as well. Well staffed and friendly. The only possible negative was the noise level but it was just a lot of folks enjoying Saturday evening. Definitely will come back in the nicer weather.

Been coming here for years, they have remodeled and expanded over the years, looks nice. Food is always good, love the Clam Chowder, waitresses are friendly and efficient. Only draw back, if you want to call it that, is if you like fries or deep fried food they have no fryer. also no gluten free options which would provide more choices for those that can't do wheat products. They also don't have any fish on the menu.and being next to the lake, I was kinda hungry for a fish sandwich to go along with that delicious clam chowder . But we'll be back ,always a nice ride out there.

This place has good food, friendly staff, and a good atmosphere. My only issue is that it has incredibly slow service. I don't know if they are understaffed or what but it is slow. The good atmosphere, good food, and friendly staff make it bearable though. Come here often and everyone is always waiting for for food or a bill. It is the only place around so it is busy at times.Just went again and they really updated the place. Looks good inside but got rid of all of the games for kids. Has an outdoor patio that has some games in back though. Food is a little more expensive than last time and the sandwich / drinks got smaller. Maybe not a good choice now.Also, takes forever to get service at your table. Staff is really nice but something has to change

Very slow service. We went there and they were busy admittedly. But we saw several other tables get their food, eat and leave before we even got our entrees. We ended up asking for everything to go and took it home to eat. They forgot the chips that went with our sandwiches. The tables are also very low and uncomfortable to sit at. I’m 5’9” for reference.
